سورة الأنفال
8:1
Ahmed Ali
THEY ASK YOU of (benefits accruing as) spoils of war. Tell them: "The benefits belong to God and His Messenger." So fulfil your duty to God and keep peace among yourselves. Obey God and the Prophet, If you really believe.
Shakir
They ask you about the windfalls. Say: The windfalls are for Allah and the Messenger. So be careful of (your duty to) Allah and set aright matters of your difference, and obey Allah and His Messenger if you are believers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے محبوب! تم سے غنیمتوں کو پوچھتے ہیں (ف۲) تم فرماؤ غنیمتوں کے مالک اللہ اور رسول ہیں (ف۳) تو اللہ ڈرو (ف۴) اور اپنے آ پس میں میل (صلح صفائی) رکھو اور اللہ اور رسول کا حکم مانو اگر ایمان رکھتے ہو،
8:1 إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَٰنًا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ٢
8:2
Ahmed Ali
Only they are true believers whose hearts fill up with awe when the name of God is mentioned; and their faith is further strengthened when His messages are read out to them; and those who place their trust in their Lord,
Shakir
Those only are believers whose hearts become full of fear when Allah is mentioned, and when His communications are recited to them they increase them in faith, and in their Lord do they trust.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ایمان والے وہی ہیں کہ جب اللہ یاد کیا جائے (ف۵) ان کے دل ڈر جائیں اور جب ان پر اس کی آیتیں پڑھی جائیں ان کا ایمان ترقی پائے اور اپنے رب ہی پر بھروسہ کریں (ف۶)
8:2 ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ ٣
8:3
Ahmed Ali
Who are firm in devotion, and spend of what We have given them,
Shakir
Those who keep up prayer and spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ جو نماز قائم رکھیں اور ہمارے دیے سے کچھ ہماری راہ میں خرچ کریں،
8:3 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ حَقًّا لَّهُمْ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ ٤
8:4
Ahmed Ali
Are true believers. There are for them (high) ranks with their Lord, and pardon and noble provision.
Shakir
These are the believers in truth; they shall have from their Lord exalted grades and forgiveness and an honorable sustenance.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہی سچے مسلمان ہیں، ان کے لیے درجے ہیں ان کے رب کے پاس (ف۷) اور بخشش ہے اور عزت کی روزی (ف۸)
8:4 كَمَآ أَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَيْتِكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَكَٰرِهُونَ ٥
8:5
Ahmed Ali
As your Lord sent you from your home (to fight) for the true cause, a section of the faithful were averse,
Shakir
Even as your Lord caused you to go forth from your house with the truth, though a party of the believers were surely averse;
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس طرح اے محبوب! تمہیں تمہارے رب نے تمہارے گھر سے حق کے ساتھ برآمد کیا (ف۹) اور بیشک مسلمانوں کا ایک گروہ اس پر ناخوش تھا (ف۱۰)
8:5 يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ فِى ٱلْحَقِّ بَعْدَمَا تَبَيَّنَ كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَوْتِ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ ٦
8:6
Ahmed Ali
Who argued with you about the matter even after it had become quite clear, as if they were being pushed into (the arms of) death as they waited.
Shakir
They disputed with you about the truth after it had become clear, (and they went forth) as if they were being driven to death while they saw (it).
Ahmed Raza Khan
سچی بات میں تم سے جھگڑتے تھے (ف۱۱) بعد اس کے کہ ظاہر ہوچکی (ف۱۲) گویا وہ آنکھوں دیکھی موت کی طرف ہانکے جاتے ہیں (ف۱۳)
8:6 وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ إِحْدَى ٱلطَّآئِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ ٱلشَّوْكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُمْ وَيُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُحِقَّ ٱلْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ٧
8:7
Ahmed Ali
Though God promised that one of two columns (would fall to you), you desired the one that was not armed. But God wished to confirm the truth by His words, and wipe the unbelievers out to the last,
Shakir
And when Allah promised you one of the two parties that it shall be yours and you loved that the one not armed should he yours and Allah desired to manifest the truth of what was true by His words and to cut off the root of the unbelievers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور یاد کرو جب اللہ نے تمہیں وعدہ دیا تھا کہ ان دونوں گروہوں (ف۱۴) میں ایک تمہارے لیے ہے اور تم یہ چاہتے تھے کہ تمہیں وہ ملے جس میں کانٹے کا کھٹکا نہیں (کوئی نقصان نہ ہو) (ف۱۵) اور اللہ یہ چاہتا تھا کہ اپنے کلام سے سچ کو سچ کر دکھائے (ف۱۶) اور کافروں کی جڑ کا ٹ دے(ف۱۷)
8:7 لِيُحِقَّ ٱلْحَقَّ وَيُبْطِلَ ٱلْبَٰطِلَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ٨
8:8
Ahmed Ali
So that Truth may be affirmed and falsehood negated, even though the sinners be averse.
Shakir
That He may manifest the truth of what was true and show the falsehood of what was false, though the guilty disliked.
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ سچ کو سچ کرے اور جھوٹ کو جھوٹا (ف۱۸) پڑے برا مانیں مجرم،

Ahmed Ali
Remember when you prayed to your Lord for help, He heard you and said: "I shall send a thousand angels following behind you for your aid."
Shakir
When you sought aid from your Lord, so He answered you: I will assist you with a thousand of the angels following one another.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جب تم اپنے رب سے فریا د کرتے تھے (ف۱۹) تو اس نے تمہاری سن لی کہ میں تمہیں مدد دینے والا ہوں ہزاروں فرشتوں کی قطار سے (ف۲۰)
8:9 وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ بِهِۦ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَمَا ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ ٠١
8:10
Ahmed Ali
He gave you the good news only to reassure your hearts, for victory comes from God alone, and certainly God is all-mighty and all-wise.
Shakir
And Allah only gave it as a good news and that your hearts might be at ease thereby; and victory is only from Allah; surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور یہ تو اللہ نے کیا مگر تمہاری خوشی کو اور اس لیے کہ تمہارے دل چین پائیں، اور مدد نہیں مگر اللہ کی طرف سے (ف۲۱) بیشک اللہ غالب حکمت والا ہے،
8:10 إِذْ يُغَشِّيكُمُ ٱلنُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةً مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم بِهِۦ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمْ رِجْزَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ ٱلْأَقْدَامَ ١١
8:11
Ahmed Ali
A blanketing sleep came over you as a (measure of) security from Him, and He sent down rain from the skies to cleanse you, and to remove the plague of Satan, and to strengthen your hearts and steady your steps.
Shakir
When He caused calm to fall on you as a security from Him and sent down upon you water from the cloud that He might thereby purify you, and take away from you the uncleanness of the Shaitan, and that He might fortify your hearts and steady (your) footsteps thereby.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جب اس نے تمہیں اونگھ سے گھیر دیا تو اس کی طرف سے چین (تسکین) تھی (ف۲۲) اور آسمان سے تم پر پانی اتارا کہ تمہیں اس سے ستھرا کردے اور شیطان کی ناپاکی تم سے دور فرمادے اور تمہارے دلو ں کی ڈھارس بندھائے اور اس سے تمہارے قدم جمادے(ف۲۳)
8:11 إِذْ يُوحِى رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ أَنِّى مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ سَأُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ فَٱضْرِبُوا۟ فَوْقَ ٱلْأَعْنَاقِ وَٱضْرِبُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍ ٢١
8:12
Ahmed Ali
And the Lord said to the angels: "I am with you; go and strengthen the faithful. I shall fill the hearts of infidels with terror. So smite them on their necks and every joint, (and incapacitate them),"
Shakir
When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جب اے محبوب! تمہارا رب فرشتوں کو وحی بھیجتا تھا کہ میں تمہارے ساتھ ہوں تم مسلمانوں کو ثابت رکھو (ف۲۴) عنقریب میں کافروں کے دلوں میں ہیبت ڈالوں گا تو کافروں کی گردنوں سے اوپر مارو اور ان کی ایک ایک پور (جوڑ) پر ضرب لگا ؤ (ف۲۵)
8:12 ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ٣١
8:13
Ahmed Ali
For they had opposed God and His Apostle; but whosoever opposes God and his Apostle (should know) that God is severe in retribution.
Shakir
This is because they acted adversely to Allah and His Messenger; and whoever acts adversely to Allah and His Messenger-- then surely Allah is severe in requiting (evil).
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ اس لیے کہ انہوں نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول سے مخا لفت کی اور جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول سے مخالفت کرے تو بیشک اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے،
8:13 ذَٰلِكُمْ فَذُوقُوهُ وَأَنَّ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٤١
8:14
Ahmed Ali
For you is this (punishment) to taste, for the infidels the torment of Hell.
Shakir
This-- taste it, and (know) that for the unbelievers is the chastisement of fire.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ تو چکھو (ف۲۶) اور اس کے ساتھ یہ ہے کہ کافروں کو آ گ کا عذاب ہے (ف۲۷)
8:14 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ زَحْفًا فَلَا تُوَلُّوهُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ٥١
8:15
Ahmed Ali
O believers, when you meet unbelievers on the field of battle, do not turn your backs to them.
Shakir
O you who believe! when you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, then turn not your backs to them.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے ایمان والو! جب کافروں کے لام (لشکر) سے تمہارا مقابلہ ہو تو انہیں پیٹھ نہ دو (ف۲۸)
8:15 وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دُبُرَهُۥٓ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَآءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ٦١
8:16
Ahmed Ali
For any one who turns his back on that day, except to manoeuvre or rally to his side, will bring the wrath of God on himself, and have Hell as abode; and what an evil destination!
Shakir
And whoever shall turn his back to them on that day-- unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company-- then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah´s wrath, and his abode is hell; and an evil destination shall it be.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جو اس دن انہیں پیٹھ دے گا مگر لڑائی کا ہنرَ کرنے یا اپنی جماعت میں جاملنے کو، تو وہ اللہ کے غضب میں پلٹا اور اس کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے، اور کیا بری جگہ ہے پلٹنے کی، (ف۲۹)
