But no. You love this transient life,

Nay! But you love the present life,

کوئی نہیں بلکہ اے کافرو! تم پاؤں تلے کی (دنیاوی فائدے کو) عزیز دوست رکھتے ہو (ف۱۷)
75:20 وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ ١٢

And neglect the Hereafter.

And neglect the hereafter.

اور آخرت کو چھوڑ بیٹھے ہو،
75:21 وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ ٢٢

Ahmed Ali
How many faces will be refulgent on that Day,

(Some) faces on that day shall be bright,

کچھ منہ اس دن (ف۱۸) تر و تازہ ہوں گے (ف۱۹)
75:22 إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ ٣٢

Ahmed Ali
Waiting for their Lord.
Shakir
Looking to their Lord.

اپنے رب کا دیکھتے (ف۲۰)
75:23 وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ ٤٢
75:24
Ahmed Ali
And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone
Shakir
And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy,

اور کچھ منہ اس دن بگڑے ہوئے ہوں گے (ف۲۱)
75:24 تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ ٥٢
75:25
Ahmed Ali
Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them.
Shakir
Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity.
Ahmed Raza Khan
سمجھتے ہوں گے کہ ان کے ساتھ وہ کی جائے گی جو کمر کو توڑ دے (ف۲۲)
75:25 كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ ٦٢
75:26
Ahmed Ali
Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula,
Shakir
Nay! When it comes up to the throat,
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہاں ہاں جب جان گلے کو پہنچ جائے گی (ف۲۳)
75:26 وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ ٧٢
75:27
Ahmed Ali
And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?"
Shakir
And it is said: Who will be a magician?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کہیں گے (ف۲۴) کہ ہے کوئی جھاڑ پھونک کرے (ف۲۵)
75:27 وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ ٨٢
75:28
Ahmed Ali
He will then realise it is the parting,
Shakir
And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting
Ahmed Raza Khan
سمجھ لے گا کہ یہ جدائی کی گھڑی ہے (ف۲۷)
75:28 وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ ٩٢
75:29
Ahmed Ali
And anguish will be heaped upon anguish:
Shakir
And affliction is combined with affliction;

اور پنڈلی سے پنڈلی لپٹ جائے گی (ف۲۸)
75:29 إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ ٠٣
75:30
Ahmed Ali
To your Lord then will be the driving.
Shakir
To your Lord on that day shall be the driving.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس دن تیرے رب ہی کی طرف ہانکنا ہے (ف۱۹)
75:30 فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ ١٣
75:31
Ahmed Ali
For he neither believed nor prayed,
Shakir
So he did not accept the truth, nor did he pray,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس نے (ف۳۰) نہ تو سچ مانا (ف۳۱) اور نہ نماز پڑھی،
75:31 وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ٢٣
75:32
Ahmed Ali
But only disavowed and turned away;
Shakir
But called the truth a lie and turned back,
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہاں جھٹلایا اور منہ پھیرا (ف۳۲)
75:32 ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ ٣٣
75:33
Ahmed Ali
Then he strutted back to his people.
Shakir
Then he went to his followers, walking away in haughtiness.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر اپنے گھر کو اکڑتا چلا (ف۳۳)
75:33 أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ ٤٣
75:34
Ahmed Ali
Alas the woe for you, alas!
Shakir
Nearer to you (is destruction) and nearer,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تیری خرابی ا ٓ لگی اب آ لگی،
75:34 ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ ٥٣
75:35
Ahmed Ali
Alas, the woe for you!
Shakir
Again (consider how) nearer to you and nearer.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر تیری خرابی آ لگی اب آ لگی، (ف۳۴)
75:35 أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى ٦٣
75:36
Ahmed Ali
Does man think that he will be left alone to himself, free?
Shakir
Does man think that he is to be left to wander without an aim?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا آدمی اس گھمنڈ میں ہے کہ آزاد چھوڑ دیا جائے گا (ف۳۵)
75:36 أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ ٧٣
75:37
Ahmed Ali
Was he not an emitted drop of semen,
Shakir
Was he not a small seed in the seminal elements,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا وہ ایک بوند نہ تھا اس منی کا کہ گرائی جائے (ف۳۶)
75:37 ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ٨٣
75:38
Ahmed Ali
Then formed into an embryo? Then He fashioned, shaped and proportioned
Shakir
Then he was a clot of blood, so He created (him) then made (him) perfect.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر خون کی پھٹک ہوا تو اس نے پیدا فرمایا (ف۳۷) پھر ٹھیک بنایا (ف۳۸)
75:38 فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ ٩٣
75:39
Ahmed Ali
And assigned it sexes, male and female.
Shakir
Then He made of him two kinds, the male and the female.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اس سے (ف۳۹) دو جوڑ بنائے (ف۴۰) مرد اور عورت،
75:39 أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ ٠٤
75:40
Ahmed Ali
Cannot such as He bring the dead to life?
Shakir
Is not He able to give life to the dead?

کیا جس نے یہ کچھ کیا وہ مردے نہ جِلا سکے گا،
75:40 سورة الانسان
76:1
Ahmed Ali
WAS THERE NOT a time in the life of man when he was not even a mentionable thing?
Shakir
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning.

بیشک آدمی پر (ف۲) ایک وقت وہ گزرا کہ کہیں اس کا نام بھی نہ تھا (ف۳)
76:1 إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا ٢
76:2
Ahmed Ali
Verily We created man from a sperm yoked (to the ovum) to bring out his real substance, then gave him hearing and sight.
Shakir
Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے آدمی کو کیا ملی ہوئی منی سے (ف۴) کہ وہ اسے جانچیں (ف۵) تو اسے سنتا دیکھتا کردیا (ف۶)
76:2 إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا ٣
76:3
Ahmed Ali
We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny.
Shakir
Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے اسے راہ بتائی (ف۷) یا حق مانتا (ف۸) یا ناشکری کرتا (ف۹)
76:3 إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا ٤
76:4
Ahmed Ali
We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire.
Shakir
Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے کافروں کے لیے تیار کر رکھی ہیں زنجیریں (ف۱۰) اور طوق (ف۱۱) اور بھڑکتی آگ (ف۱۲)
76:4 إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا ٥
76:5
Ahmed Ali
Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms
Shakir
Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک نیک پئیں گے اس جام میں سے جس کی ملونی کافور ہے وہ کافور کیا ایک چشمہ ہے (ف۱۳)

Ahmed Ali
From a spring of which the votaries of God will drink and make it flow in abundance.
Shakir
A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth.

جس میں سے اللہ کے نہایت خاص بندے پئیں گے اپنے محلوں میں اسے جہاں چاہیں بہا کر لے جائیں گے (ف۱۴)
76:6 يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًا ٧
76:7
Ahmed Ali
Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide,
Shakir
They fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اپنی منتیں پوری کرتے ہیں (ف۱۵) اور اس دن سے ڈرتے ہیں جس کی برائی (ف۱۶) پھیلی ہوئی ہے (ف۱۷)
76:7 وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا ٨
76:8
Ahmed Ali
And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives,
Shakir
And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive:

اور کھانا کھلاتے ہیں اس کی محبت پر (ف۱۸) مسکین اور یتیم اور اسیر کو،
76:8 إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا ٩
76:9
Ahmed Ali
(Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks.
Shakir
We only feed you for Allah´s sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks:
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان سے کہتے ہیں ہم تمہیں خاص اللہ کے لیے کھانا دیتےہیں تم سے کوئی بدلہ یا شکر گزاری نہیں مانگتے،
76:9 إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا ٠١
76:10
Ahmed Ali
We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord."
Shakir
Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہمیں اپنے رب سے ایک ایسے دن کا ڈر ہے جو بہت ترش نہایت سخت ہے (ف۱۹)
76:10 فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا ١١
76:11
Ahmed Ali
So God will protect them from the evil of that day, and grant them happiness and joy,
Shakir
Therefore Allah win guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness;
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو انہیں اللہ نے اس دن کے شر سے بچالیا اور انہیں تازگی اور شادمانی دی،
76:11 وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا ٢١
76:12
Ahmed Ali
And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes,
Shakir
And reward them, because they were patient, with garden and silk,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان کے صبر پر انہیں جنت اور ریشمی کپڑے صلہ میں دیے،
76:12 مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا ٣١
76:13
Ahmed Ali
Where they will recline on couches feeling neither heat of the sun nor intense cold.
Shakir
Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun nor intense cold.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جنت میں تختوں پر تکیہ لگائے ہوں گے، نہ اس میں دھوپ دیکھیں گے نہ ٹھٹر (سخت سردی) (ف۲۰)
76:13 وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا ٤١
76:14
Ahmed Ali
The shadows will bend over them, and low will hang the clusters of grapes.
Shakir
And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach.

اور اس کے (ف۲۱) سائے ان پر جھکے ہوں گے اور اس کے گچھے جھکا کر نیچے کردیے گئے ہوں گے (ف۲۲)
76:14 وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠ ٥١
76:15
Ahmed Ali
Passed round will be silver flagons and goblets made of glass,
Shakir
And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass,

اور ان پر چاندی کے برتنوں اور کوزوں کا دور ہوگا جو شیشے کے مثل ہورہے ہوں گے،
76:15 قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا ٦١
76:16
Ahmed Ali
And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves.
Shakir
(Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure.

کیسے شیشے چاندی کے (ف۲۳) ساقیوں نے انہیں پورے اندازہ پر رکھا ہوگا (ف۲۴)
76:16 وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا ٧١
76:17
Ahmed Ali
There will they drink a cup flavoured with ginger
Shakir
And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger,

اور اس میں وہ جام پلائے جائیں گے (ف۲۵) جس کی ملونی ادرک ہوگی (ف۲۶)
76:17 عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا ٨١

Ahmed Ali
From a spring by the name of Ever-flowing-Salsabil.
Shakir
(Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil.

وہ ادرک کیا ہے جنت میں ایک چشمہ ہے جسے سلسبیل کہتے ہیں (ف۲۷)
76:18 ۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا ٩١
76:19
Ahmed Ali
And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed.
Shakir
And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls.

اور ان کے آس پاس خدمت میں پھریں گے ہمیشہ رہنے والے لڑکے (ف۲۸) جب تو انہیں دیکھے تو انہیں سمجھے کہ موتی ہیں بکھیرے ہوئے (ف۲۹)
76:19 وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا ٠٢
76:20
Ahmed Ali
When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion.
Shakir
And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom.

اور جب تو ادھر نظر اٹھائے ایک چین دیکھے (ف۳۰) اور بڑی سلطنت (ف۳۱)
76:20 عَٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا ١٢
76:21
Ahmed Ali
On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink.
Shakir
Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink.

ان کے بدن پر ہیں کریب کے سبز کپڑے (ف۳۲) اور قنا ویز کے (ف۳۳) اور انہیں چاندی کے کنگن پہنائے گئے (ف۳۴) اور انہیں ان کے رب نے ستھری شراب پلائی (ف۳۵)
76:21 إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا ٢٢
76:22
Ahmed Ali
"This in truth is your recompense, and acceptance of your endeavours."
Shakir
Surely this is a reward for you, and your striving shall be recompensed.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان سے فرمایا جائے گا یہ تمہارا صلہ ہے (ف۳۶) اور تمہاری محنت ٹھکانے لگی (ف۳۷)
76:22 إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًا ٣٢
76:23
Ahmed Ali
We have revealed the Qur´an to you gradually;
Shakir
Surely We Ourselves have revealed the Quran to you revealing (it) in portions.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے تم پر (ف۳۸) قرآن بتدریج اتارا (ف۳۹)
76:23 فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا ٤٢
76:24
Ahmed Ali
So wait for your Lord´s command, and do not follow any sinner or disbeliever among them.
Shakir
Therefore wait patiently for the command of your Lord, and obey not from among them a sinner or an ungrateful one.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اپنے رب کے حکم پر صابر رہو (ف۴۰) اور ان میں کسی گنہگار یا ناشکرے کی بات نہ سنو (ف۴۱)
76:24 وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا ٥٢
76:25
Ahmed Ali
Meditate upon the name of your Lord morning and evening;
Shakir
And glorify the name of your Lord morning and evening.

اور اپنے رب کا نام صبح و شام یاد کرو (ف۴۲)
