سورة المزمل
73:1
Ahmed Ali
O YOU ENWRAPPED in the cloak (of Prophethood),
Shakir
O you who have wrapped up in your garments!

اے جھرمٹ مارنے والے (ف۲)
73:1 قُمِ ٱلَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ٢
73:2
Ahmed Ali
Keep watch all the night except some,
Shakir
Rise to pray in the night except a little,

رات میں قیام فرما (ف۳) سوا کچھ رات کے (ف۴)
73:2 نِّصْفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا ٣
73:3
Ahmed Ali
A half of it or a little less
Shakir
Half of it, or lessen it a little,
Ahmed Raza Khan
آدھی رات یا اس سے کچھ تم کرو،
73:3 أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا ٤
73:4
Ahmed Ali
Or a little more, and recite the Qur´an slowly and distinctly.
Shakir
Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited.

یا اس پر کچھ بڑھاؤ (ف۵) اور قرآن خوب ٹھہر ٹھہر کر پڑھو (ف۶)
73:4 إِنَّا سَنُلْقِى عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا ٥
73:5
Ahmed Ali
We shall soon entrust to you a message heavy (with solemnity).
Shakir
Surely We will make to light upon you a weighty Word.

بیشک عنقریب ہم تم پر ایک بھاری بات ڈالیں گے (ف۷)
73:5 إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيْلِ هِىَ أَشَدُّ وَطْـًٔا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا ٦
73:6
Ahmed Ali
Surely in the watches of the night the soul is most receptive and words more telling.
Shakir
Surely the rising by night is the firmest way to tread and the best corrective of speech.

بیشک رات کا اٹھنا (ف۸) وہ زیادہ دباؤ ڈالتا ہے (ف۹) اور بات خوب سیدھی نکلتی ہے (ف۱۰)
73:6 إِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا ٧
73:7
Ahmed Ali
Indeed during the day you have a long schedule of occupations.
Shakir
Surely you have in the day time a long occupation.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک دن میں تو تم کو بہت سے کام ہیں (ف۱۱)
73:7 وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا ٨
73:8
Ahmed Ali
But recite the name of your Lord withdrawing yourself from everything, devoting yourself exclusively to Him.
Shakir
And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with (exclusive) devotion.

اور اپنے رب کا نام یاد کرو (ف۱۲) اور سب سے ٹوٹ کر اسی کے ہو رہو (ف۱۳)
73:8 رَّبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا ٩
73:9
Ahmed Ali
He is the Lord of the East and the West. There is no god but He. So take Him alone as your protector.
Shakir
The Lord of the East and the West-- there is no god but He-- therefore take Him for a protector.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ پورب کا رب اور پچھم کا رب اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں تو تم اسی کو اپنا کارساز بناؤ (ف۱۴)
73:9 وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا ٠١
73:10
Ahmed Ali
Bear with patience what they say, and gracefully come away from them.
Shakir
And bear patiently what they say and avoid them with a becoming avoidance.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کافروں کی باتوں پر صبر فرماؤ اور انہیں اچھی طرح چھوڑ دو (ف۱۵)
73:10 وَذَرْنِى وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُو۟لِى ٱلنَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا ١١
73:11
Ahmed Ali
Leave those to Me who deny, the lovers of ease and comfort; and bear with them for a while.
Shakir
And leave Me and the rejecters, the possessors of ease and plenty, and respite them a little.

اور مجھ پر چھوڑو ان جھٹلانے والے مالداروں کو اور انہیں تھوڑی مہلت دو (ف۱۶)
73:11 إِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ أَنكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا ٢١
73:12
Ahmed Ali
Verily We shall have fetters with Us, and a roaring furnace,
Shakir
Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہمارے پاس (ف۱۷) بھاری بیڑیاں ہیں اور بھڑکتی آگ،
73:12 وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًا ٣١
73:13
Ahmed Ali
And food that will stick in the throat, and painful torment
Shakir
And food that chokes and a painful punishment,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور گلے میں پھنستا کھانا اور دردناک عذاب (ف۱۸)
73:13 يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًا مَّهِيلًا ٤١
73:14
Ahmed Ali
On the day the earth and mountains will rock violently, and the mountains turn to a heap of poured-out sand.
Shakir
On the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains shall become (as) heaps of sand let loose.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن تھرتھرائیں گے زمین اور پہاڑ (ف۱۹) اور پہاڑ ہوجائیں گے ریتے کا ٹیلہ بہتا ہوا،
73:14 إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا ٥١
73:15
Ahmed Ali
We have sent an Apostle to you as a witness against you, as We had sent an apostle to the Pharaoh.
Shakir
Surely We have sent to you a Messenger, a witness against you, as We sent a messenger to Firon.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے تمہاری طرف ایک رسول بھیجے (ف۲۰) کہ تم پر حاضر ناظر ہیں (ف۲۱) جیسے ہم نے فرعون کی طرف رسول بھیجے (ف۲۲)
73:15 فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا ٦١
73:16
Ahmed Ali
But the Pharaoh disobeyed the apostle; so We seized him with a grievous punishment.
Shakir
But Firon disobeyed the messenger, so We laid on him a violent hold.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو فرعون نے اس رسول کا حکم نہ مانا تو ہم نے اسے سخت گرفت سے پکڑا،
73:16 فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَجْعَلُ ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَ شِيبًا ٧١
73:17
Ahmed Ali
How then, if you disbelieve, will you preserve yourselves on the day which will even turn the children hoary?
Shakir
How, then, will you guard yourselves, if you disbelieve, on the day which shall make children grey-headed?
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر کیسے بچو گے (ف۲۳) اگر (ف۲۴) کفر کرو اس دن (ف۲۵) جو بچوں کو بوڑھا کردے گا (ف۲۴)
73:17 ٱلسَّمَآءُ مُنفَطِرٌۢ بِهِۦ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَفْعُولًا ٨١
73:18
Ahmed Ali
The heavens itself will be rent asunder (on that day). His promise is bound to be fulfilled.
Shakir
The heaven shall rend asunder thereby; His promise is ever brought to fulfillment.
Ahmed Raza Khan
آسمان اس کے صدمے سے پھٹ جائے گا، اللہ کا وعدہ ہوکر رہنا،
73:18 إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا ٩١
73:19
Ahmed Ali
Verily this is a reminder. So let him who desires take the way to his Lord.
Shakir
Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک یہ نصیحت ہے، تو جو چاہے اپنے رب کی طرف راہ لے (ف۲۷)
73:19

أَدْنَىٰ

ثُلُثَىِ
ٱلَّيْلِ
وَنِصْفَهُۥ

وَطَآئِفَةٌ
مِّنَ
ٱلَّذِينَ
مَعَكَ
وَٱللَّهُ
يُقَدِّرُ
ٱلَّيْلَ
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
عَلِمَ
أَن
لَّن
تُحْصُوهُ
فَتَابَ
عَلَيْكُمْ
فَٱقْرَءُوا۟
مَا
تَيَسَّرَ
مِنَ
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
عَلِمَ
أَن
سَيَكُونُ
مِنكُم
مَّرْضَىٰ
وَءَاخَرُونَ
يَضْرِبُونَ
فِى
ٱلْأَرْضِ
يَبْتَغُونَ
مِن
فَضْلِ
ٱللَّهِ
وَءَاخَرُونَ
يُقَٰتِلُونَ
فِى
سَبِيلِ
ٱللَّهِ
فَٱقْرَءُوا۟
مَا
تَيَسَّرَ
مِنْهُ
وَأَقِيمُوا۟
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
وَءَاتُوا۟
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
وَأَقْرِضُوا۟
ٱللَّهَ
قَرْضًا
حَسَنًا
وَمَا
تُقَدِّمُوا۟
لِأَنفُسِكُم
مِّنْ
خَيْرٍ
تَجِدُوهُ
عِندَ
ٱللَّهِ
هُوَ
خَيْرًا
وَأَعْظَمَ
أَجْرًا
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟
ٱللَّهَ
إِنَّ
ٱللَّهَ
غَفُورٌ
رَّحِيمٌۢ

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
ٱلْمُدَّثِّرُ

Ahmed Ali
Your Lord surely knows that you are occupied with your devotions for nearly two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or one-third of it, as do many others with you. Yet God prescribes the measure of night and day. He knows you cannot calculate it, and so turns to you in benevolence. So recite as much of the Qur´an as you can easily. He knows some among you will be sick, and some will be travelling over the earth in search of the bounty of God, and some fighting in the way of God. So read as much from it as you can easily, and be firm in devotion, pay the zakat, and lend a goodly loan to God. And what you send for yourself of the good, you will find it with God better and greater in reward. So ask for God´s forgiveness. Indeed God is forgiving and kind.
Shakir
Surely your Lord knows that you pass in prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, and (sometimes) half of it, and (sometimes) a third of it, and (also) a party of those with you; and Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are not able to do it, so He has turned to you (mercifully), therefore read what is easy of the Quran. He knows that there must be among you sick, and others who travel in the land seeking of the bounty of Allah, and others who fight in Allah´s way, therefore read as much of it as is easy (to you), and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and offer to Allah a goodly gift, and whatever of good you send on beforehand for yourselves, you will find it with Allah; that is best and greatest in reward; and ask forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

بیشک تمہارا رب جانتا ہے کہ تم قیام کرتے ہو کبھی دو تہائی رات کے قریب، کبھی آدمی رات، کبھی تہائی اور ایک جماعت تمہارے ساتھ والی (ف۲۸) اور اللہ رات اور دن کا اندازہ فرماتا ہے، اسے معلوم ہے کہ اے مسلمانو! تم سے رات کا شمار نہ ہوسکے گا (ف۲۹) تو اس نے اپنی مہر سے تم پر رجوع فرمائی اب قرآن میں سے جتنا تم پر آسان ہو اتنا پڑھو (ف۳۰) اسے معلوم ہے کہ عنقریب کچھ تم میں سے بیمار ہوں گے اور کچھ زمین میں سفر کریں گے اللہ کا فضل تلاش کرنے (ف۳۱) اور کچھ اللہ کی راہ میں لڑتے ہوں گے (ف۳۲) تو جتنا قرآن میسر ہو پڑھو (ف۳۳) اور نماز قائم رکھو (ف۳۴) اور زکوٰة دو اور اللہ کو اچھا قرض دو (ف۳۵) اور اپنے لیے جو بھلائی آگے بھیجو گے اسے اللہ کے پاس بہتر اور بڑے ثواب کی پاؤ گے، اور اللہ سے بخشش مانگو، بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،
73:20 سورة المدثر
74:1

O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform),

O you who are clothed!

اے بالا پوش اوڑھنے والے! (ف۲)
74:1 قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ ٢
74:2

Arise and warn,

Arise and warn,

کھڑے ہوجاؤ (ف۳) پھر ڈر سناؤ (ف۴)
74:2 وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ ٣
74:3

Glorify your Lord,

And your Lord do magnify,

اور اپنے رب ہی کی بڑائی بولو (ف۵)
74:3 وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ ٤
74:4
Ahmed Ali
Purify your inner self,
Shakir
And your garments do purify,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اپنے کپڑے پاک رکھو (ف۶)
74:4 وَٱلرُّجْزَ فَٱهْجُرْ ٥
74:5
Ahmed Ali
And banish all trepidation.
Shakir
And uncleanness do shun,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بتوں سے دور رہو،
74:5 وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ ٦
74:6
Ahmed Ali
Do not bestow favours in expectation of return,
Shakir
And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور زیادہ لینے کی نیت سے کسی پر احسان نہ کرو (ف۷)
74:6 وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصْبِرْ ٧
74:7
Ahmed Ali
And persevere in the way of your Lord.
Shakir
And for the sake of your Lord, be patient.

اور اپنے رب کے لیے صبر کیے رہو (ف۸)
74:7 فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِى ٱلنَّاقُورِ ٨
74:8

For when the trumpet blows

For when the trumpet is sounded,

پھر جب صور پھونکا جائے گا (ف۹)
74:8 فَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ ٩
74:9
Ahmed Ali
It will be a day of distress,

That, at that time, shall be a difficult day,

تو وہ دن کڑا (سخت) دن ہے،
74:9 عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ ٠١
74:10
Ahmed Ali
Dolorous for the unbelievers.
Shakir
For the unbelievers, anything but easy.

کافروں پر آسان نہیں (ف۱۰)
74:10 ذَرْنِى وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا ١١
74:11
Ahmed Ali
Leave him to Me whom I created alone,
Shakir
Leave Me and him whom I created alone,

اسے مجھ پر چھوڑ جسے میں نے اکیلا پیدا کیا (ف۱۱)
74:11 وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُۥ مَالًا مَّمْدُودًا ٢١
74:12
Ahmed Ali
And gave him abundant wealth
Shakir
And give him vast riches,

اور اسے وسیع مال دیا (ف۱۲)
74:12 وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا ٣١
74:13
Ahmed Ali
And sons always present by his side,
Shakir
And sons dwelling in his presence,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیٹے دیے سامنے حاضر رہتے (ف۱۳)
74:13 وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمْهِيدًا ٤١

Ahmed Ali
And made things easy for them.
Shakir
And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably;

اور میں نے اس کے لیے طرح طرح کی تیاریاں کیں (ف۱۴)
74:14 ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ ٥١
74:15
Ahmed Ali
Yet he wants that I should give him more.
Shakir
And yet he desires that I should add more!
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر یہ طمع کرتا ہے کہ میں اور زیادہ دوں (ف۱۵)
74:15 كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِءَايَٰتِنَا عَنِيدًا ٦١
74:16
Ahmed Ali
Never. He is refractory of Our signs.
Shakir
By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications.

ہرگز نہیں (ف۱۶) وہ تو میری آیتوں سے عناد رکھتا ہے،
74:16 سَأُرْهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا ٧١
74:17
Ahmed Ali
I shall inflict on him hardship,
Shakir
I will make a distressing punishment overtake him.

قریب ہے کہ میں اسے آگ کے پہاڑ صعود پر چڑھاؤں،
