So I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We are certainly able

But nay! I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We are certainly able

تو مجھے قسم ہے اس کی جو سب پُوربوں سب پچھموں کا مالک ہے (ف۳۵) کہ ضرور ہم قادر ہیں،
70:40 عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ ١٤
70:41
Ahmed Ali
To bring better people than they in their place; and they will not be able to thwart Us.
Shakir
To bring instead (others) better than them, and We shall not be overcome.
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ ان سے اچھے بدل دیں (ف۳۶) اور ہم سے کوئی نکل کر نہیں جاسکتا (ف۳۷)
70:41 فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ ٢٤
70:42
Ahmed Ali
So leave them to their vain disputes and amusement till they meet their day (of reckoning) promised them,
Shakir
Therefore leave them alone to go on with the false discourses and to sport until they come face to face with that day of theirs with which they are threatened;
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو انہیں چھوڑ دو ان کی بیہودگیوں میں پڑے اور کھیلتے ہوئے یہاں تک کہ اپنے اس (ف۳۸) دن سے ملیں جس کا انہیں وعدہ دیا جاتا ہے،
70:42 يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٍ يُوفِضُونَ ٣٤
70:43
Ahmed Ali
The day when they will come out of their graves in all haste as though rushing to their altars,
Shakir
The day on which they shall come forth from their graves in haste, as if they were hastening on to a goal,
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن قبروں سے نکلیں گے جھپٹتے ہوئے (ف۳۹) گویا وہ نشانیوں کی طرف لپک رہے ہیں (ف۴۰)
70:43 خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ ٤٤
70:44
Ahmed Ali
Eyes lowered, shame attending. That is the day they have been promised!
Shakir
Their eyes cast down; disgrace shall overtake them; that is the day which they were threatened with.

آنکھیں نیچی کیے ہوئے ان پر ذلت سوار، یہ ہے ان کا وہ دن (ف۴۱) جس کا ان سے وعدہ تھا (ف۴۲)
70:44 سورة نوح
71:1
Ahmed Ali
SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them.
Shakir
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے نوح کو اس کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا کہ ان کو ڈرا اس سے پہلے کہ ان پر دردناک عذاب آئے (ف۲)
71:1 قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ٢
71:2
Ahmed Ali
He said: "O my people, I warn you clearly
Shakir
He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you:
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس نے فرمایا اے میری قوم! میں تمہارے لیے صریح ڈر سنانے والا ہوں،
71:2 أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ ٣
71:3
Ahmed Ali
That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me
Shakir
That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me:
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ اللہ کی بندگی کرو (ف۳) اور اس سے ڈرو (ف۴) اور میرا حکم مانو،
71:3 يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ٤
71:4
Ahmed Ali
That He may forgive some of your sins and prolong your term till an appointed time. Surely when God´s appointed time is come it will not be put off, if only you knew!
Shakir
He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know!
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ تمہارے کچھ گناہ بخش دے گا (ف۵) اور ایک مقرر میعاد تک (ف۶) تمہیں مہلت دے گا (ف۷) بیشک اللہ کا وعدہ جب آتا ہے ہٹایا نہیں جاتا کسی طرح تم جانتے (ف۸)
71:4 قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا ٥
71:5
Ahmed Ali
He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day,
Shakir
He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day!
Ahmed Raza Khan
عرض کی (ف۹) اے میرے رب! میں نے اپنی قوم کو رات دن بلایا (ف۱۰)
71:5 فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا ٦
71:6
Ahmed Ali
But the more I called, they only ran the farther away.
Shakir
But my call has only made them flee the more:
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو میرے بلانے سے انہیں بھاگنا ہی بڑھا (ف۱۱)
71:6 وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا ٧
71:7
Ahmed Ali
And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence.
Shakir
And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride:

اور میں نے جتنی بار انہیں بلایا (ف۱۲) کہ تو ان کو بخشے انہوں نے اپنے کانوں میں انگلیاں دے لیں (ف۱۳) اور اپنے کپڑے اوڑھ لیے (ف۱۴) اور ہٹ کی (ف۱۵) اور بڑا غرور کیا (ف۱۶)
71:7 ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا ٨
71:8
Ahmed Ali
Then I called them loudly and more openly,
Shakir
Then surely I called to them aloud:

پھر میں نے انہیں علانیہ بلایا (ف۱۷)
71:8 ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا ٩
71:9
Ahmed Ali
And declared to them in public and in private,
Shakir
Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret:

پھر میں نے ان سے با علان بھی کہا (ف۱۸) اور آہستہ خفیہ بھی کہا (ف۱۹)
71:9 فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا ٠١
71:10
Ahmed Ali
And I told them: ´Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving.
Shakir
Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving:

تو میں نے کہا اپنے رب سے معافی مانگو (ف۲۰) وہ بڑا معاف فرمانے والا ہے (ف۲۱)

He will send you abundant rain from the sky,
Shakir
He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain:
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم پر شراٹے کا (موسلا دھار) مینھ بھیجے گا،
71:11 وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَٰرًا ٢١
71:12
Ahmed Ali
And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water.
Shakir
And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور مال اور بیٹوں سے تمہاری مدد کرے گا (ف۲۲) اور تمہارے لیے باغ بنادے گا اور تمہارے لیے نہریں بنائے گا (ف۲۳)
71:12 مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا ٣١
71:13
Ahmed Ali
What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God,
Shakir
What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تمہیں کیا ہوا اللہ سے عزت حاصل کرنے کی امید نہیں کرتے (ف۲۴)
71:13 وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا ٤١
71:14
Ahmed Ali
Knowing that He has created you by various stages?
Shakir
And indeed He has created you through various grades:
Ahmed Raza Khan
حالانکہ اس نے تمہیں طرح طرح بنایا (ف۲۵)
71:14 أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا ٥١
71:15
Ahmed Ali
Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other,
Shakir
Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا تم نہیں دیکھتے اللہ نے کیونکر سات آسمان بنائے ایک پر ایک،
71:15 وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا ٦١
71:16
Ahmed Ali
And has placed the moon therein, an illumination, and has placed the sun, a lighted lamp?
Shakir
And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان میں چاند کو روشن کیا (ف۲۶) اور سورج کو چراغ (ف۲۷)
71:16 وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا ٧١
71:17
Ahmed Ali
God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth;
Shakir
And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth:
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اللہ نے تمہیں سبزے کی طرح زمین سے اُگایا (ف۲۸)
71:17 ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا ٨١
71:18
Ahmed Ali
He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again.
Shakir
Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth:

پھر تمہیں اسی میں لے جائے گا (ف۲۹) اور دبارہ نکالے گا (ف۳۰)
71:18 وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا ٩١
71:19
Ahmed Ali
God has made the earth for you a spreading,
Shakir
And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اللہ نے تمہارے لیے زمین کو بچھونا بنایا،
71:19 لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا ٠٢
71:20
Ahmed Ali
So that you may walk upon its spacious paths.´
Shakir
That you may go along therein in wide paths.
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ اس کے وسیع راستوں میں چلو،
71:20 قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا ١٢
71:21
Ahmed Ali
But they did not listen to me," Noah said, "and followed him whose wealth and children only added to his ruin.
Shakir
Nuh said: My Lord! surely they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children have added to him nothing but loss.
Ahmed Raza Khan
نوح نے عرض کی، اے میرے رب! انہوں نے میری نافرمانی کی (ف۳۱) اور (ف۳۲) ایسے کے پیچھے ہولیے جیسے اس کے مال اور اولاد نے نقصان ہی بڑھایا (ف۳۳)
71:21 وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا ٢٢
71:22
Ahmed Ali
And they contrived a plot of great magnitude,
Shakir
And they have planned a very great plan.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور (ف۳۴) بہت بڑا داؤ ں کھیلے (ف۳۵)
71:22 وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا ٣٢
71:23
Ahmed Ali
And said: ´Do not abandon your gods, and do not abandon Wadda or Suwa´, or Yaghuth, Ya´uq or Nasr.´
Shakir
And they say: By no means leave your gods, nor leave Wadd, nor Suwa; nor Yaghus, and Yauq and Nasr.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بولے (ف۳۶) ہرگز نہ چھوڑنا اپنے خداؤں کو (ف۳۷) اور ہرگز نہ چھوڑنا ودّ اور سواع اور یغوث اور یعوق اور نسر کو (ف۳۸)
71:23 وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَٰلًا ٤٢
71:24
Ahmed Ali
And they misled many. So do not give the evil-doers increase but in error.
Shakir
And indeed they have led astray many, and do not increase the unjust in aught but error.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک انہوں نے بہتوں کو بہکایا (ف۳۹) اور تو ظالموں کو (ف۴۰) زیادہ نہ کرنا مگر گمراہی (ف۴۱)
71:24 مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا ٥٢
71:25
Ahmed Ali
They were drowned because of their habitual sinfulness, and sent to Hell, and did not find any helper other than God.
Shakir
Because of their wrongs they were drowned, then made to enter fire, so they did not find any helpers besides Allah.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اپنی کیسی خطاؤں پر ڈبوئے گئے (ف۴۲) پھر آگ میں داخل کیے گئے (ف۴۳) تو انہوں نے اللہ کے مقابل اپنا کوئی مددگار نہ پایا (ف۴۴)
71:25 وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا ٦٢
71:26
Ahmed Ali
Noah said: "O Lord, do not leave a single habitation of unbelievers on the earth.
Shakir
And Nuh said: My Lord! leave not upon the land any dweller from among the unbelievers:
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور نوح نے عرض کی، اے میرے رب! زمین پر کافروں میں سے کوئی بسنے والا نہ چھوڑ،
71:26 إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا ٧٢
71:27
Ahmed Ali
If you leave them, they will lead Your creatures astray, and beget but iniquitous and ungrateful offspring.
Shakir
For surely if Thou leave them they will lead astray Thy servants, and will not beget any but immoral, ungrateful (children)
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک اگر تو انہیں رہنے دے گا (ف۴۵) تو تیرے بندوں کو گمراہ کردیں گے اور ان کے اولاد ہوگی تو وہ بھی نہ ہوگی مگر بدکار بڑی ناشکر (ف۴۶)
71:27 رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا ٨٢
71:28
Ahmed Ali
O Lord, forgive me, my parents, and any one who enters my house as a believer, and all believing men and women, and do not give the evil-doers increase save in ruin.
Shakir
My Lord! forgive me and my parents and him who enters my house believing, and the believing men and the believing women; and do not increase the unjust in aught but destruction!
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے میرے رب مجھے بخش دے اور میرے ماں باپ کو (ف۴۷) اور اسے جو ایمان کے ساتھ میرے گھر میں ہے اور سب مسلمان مردوں اور سب مسلمان عورتوں کو، اور کافروں کو نہ بڑھا مگر تباہی (ف۴۸)
71:28
