Ahmed Ali
When they realise it has come upon them, distraught will be the faces of unbelievers. They will be told: "This is what you asked for."
Shakir
But when they shall see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve shall be sorry, and it shall be said; This is that which you used to call for.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر جب اسے (ف۴۹) پاس دیکھیں گے کافروں کے منہ بگڑ جائیں گے (ف۵۰) اور ان سے فرمادیا جائے گا (ف۵۱) یہ ہے جو تم مانگتے تھے (ف۵۲)
67:27 قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِىَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ٨٢
67:28
Ahmed Ali
Say: "Just think: If God destroys me and those with me, or is benevolent to us, who will then protect the unbelievers from a painful doom?"
Shakir
Say: Have you considered if Allah should destroy me and those with me-- rather He will have mercy on us; yet who will protect the unbelievers from a painful punishment?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم فرماؤ (ف۵۳) بھلا دیکھو تو اگر اللہ مجھے اور میرے ساتھ والوں کو (ف۵۴) بلاک کردے یا ہم پر رحم فرمائے (ف۵۵) تو وہ کونسا ہے جو کافروں کو دکھ کے عذاب سے بچالے گا (ف۵۶)
67:28 قُلْ هُوَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ٩٢
67:29
Ahmed Ali
Say: "He is the benevolent; in Him do we believe, and in Him do we place our trust. You will now realise who is in manifest error."
Shakir
Say: He is the Beneficent Allah, we believe in Him and on Him do we rely, so you shall come to know who it is that is in clear error.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم فرماؤ وہی رحمٰن ہے (ف۵۷) ہم اس پر ایمان لائے اور اسی پر بھروسہ کیا، تو اب جان جاؤ گے (ف۵۸) کون کھلی گمراہی میں ہے،
67:29 قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَآؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَن يَأْتِيكُم بِمَآءٍ مَّعِينٍۭ ٠٣
67:30
Ahmed Ali
Say: "Just think: If your water were to dry up in the morning who will bring you water from a fresh, flowing stream?"
Shakir
Say: Have you considered if your water should go down, who is it then that will bring you flowing water?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم فرماؤ بھلا دیکھو تو اگر صبح کو تمہارا پانی زمین میں دھنس جائے (ف۵۹) تو وہ کون ہے جو تمہیں پانی لادے نگاہ کے سامنے بہتا (ف۶۰)
67:30 سورة القلم
68:1
Ahmed Ali
NUN. I CALL to witness the pen and what they inscribe,
Shakir
Noon. I swear by the pen and what the angels write,
Ahmed Raza Khan
قلم (ف۲) اور ان کے لکھے کی قسم (ف۳)
68:1 مَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ ٢
68:2
Ahmed Ali
You are not demented by the grace of your Lord.
Shakir
By the grace of your Lord you are not mad.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم اپنے رب کے فضل سے مجنون نہیں (ف۴)
68:2 وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ ٣
68:3
Ahmed Ali
There is surely reward unending for you,
Shakir
And most surely you shall have a reward never to be cut off.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ضرور تمہارے لیے بے انتہا ثواب ہے (ف۵)
68:3 وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ٤
68:4
Ahmed Ali
For you are verily born of sublime nature.
Shakir
And most surely you conform (yourself) to sublime morality.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک تمہاری خُو بُو (خُلق) بڑی شان کی ہے (ف۶)
68:4 فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ ٥
68:5
Ahmed Ali
So you will see, and they will realise,
Shakir
So you shall see, and they (too) shall see,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اب کوئی دم جاتا ہے کہ تم بھی دیکھ لو گے اور وہ بھی دیکھ لیں گے (ف۷)
68:5 بِأَييِّكُمُ ٱلْمَفْتُونُ ٦
68:6
Ahmed Ali
Who is distracted.
Shakir
Which of you is afflicted with madness.
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ تم میں کون مجنون تھا،
68:6 إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ ٧
68:7
Ahmed Ali
Verily your Lord knows those who have gone astray from His path, and He knows those who are guided on the way.
Shakir
Surely your Lord best knows him who errs from His way, and He best knows the followers of the right course.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک تمہارا رب خوب جانتا ہے جو اس کی راہ سے بہکے، اور وہ خوب جانتا ہے جو راہ پر ہے،
68:7 فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٨
68:8
Ahmed Ali
So do not comply with those who deny:
Shakir
So do not yield to the rejecters.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو جھٹلانے والوں کی بات نہ سننا،
68:8 وَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ ٩
68:9
Ahmed Ali
They only want that you should relent, so that they may come to terms.
Shakir
They wish that you should be pliant so they (too) would be pliant.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ تو اس آرزو میں ہیں کہ کسی طرح تم نرمی کرو (ف۸) تو وہ بھی نرم پڑجائیں،
68:9 وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ ٠١
68:10
Ahmed Ali
Do not heed a contemptible swearer,
Shakir
And yield not to any mean swearer
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہر ایسے کی بات نہ سننا جو بڑا قسمیں کھانے والا (ف۹) ذلیل
68:10 هَمَّازٍ مَّشَّآءٍۭ بِنَمِيمٍ ١١
68:11
Ahmed Ali
Or backbiter, calumniator, slanderer,
Shakir
Defamer, going about with slander
Ahmed Raza Khan
بہت طعنے دینے والا بہت اِدھر کی اُدھر لگاتا پھرنے والا (ف۱۰)
68:11 مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ ٢١
68:12
Ahmed Ali
Who hinders men from (doing) good, the transgressor, the iniquitous,
Shakir
Forbidder of good, outstepping the limits, sinful,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بھلائی سے بڑا روکنے والا (ف۱۱) حد سے بڑھنے والا گنہگار (ف۱۲)
68:12 عُتُلٍّۭ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ ٣١
68:13
Ahmed Ali
Crude, and above all, mean and infamous,
Shakir
Ignoble, besides all that, base-born;
Ahmed Raza Khan
درشت خُو (ف۱۳) اس سب پر طرہ یہ کہ اس کی اصل میں خطا (ف۱۴)
68:13 أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ ٤١
68:14
Ahmed Ali
Simply because he possesses wealth and children.
Shakir
Because he possesses wealth and sons.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس پر کہ کچھ مال اور بیٹے رکھتا ہے،
68:14 إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٥١
68:15
Ahmed Ali
When you recite Our revelations to him, he says: "These are fables of long ago."
Shakir
When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore.

جب اس پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جائیں (ف۱۵) کہتا ہے کہ اگلوں کی کہانیاں ہیں (ف۱۶)

We shall brand him on the muzzle.

We will brand him on the nose.

قریب ہے کہ ہم اس کی سور کی سی تھوتھنی پر داغ دیں گے (ف۱۷)
68:16 إِنَّا بَلَوْنَٰهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا۟ لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ ٧١
68:17
Ahmed Ali
We have tried you as We tried the owners of the garden when they vowed to gather the fruits in the morning
Shakir
Surely We will try them as We tried the owners of the garden, when they swore that they would certainly cut off the produce in the morning,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے انہیں جانچا (ف۱۸) جیسا اس باغ والوں کو جانچا تھا (ف۱۹) جب انہوں نے قسم کھائی کہ ضرور صبح ہوتے اس کھیت کو کاٹ لیں گے (ف۲۰)
68:17 وَلَا يَسْتَثْنُونَ ٨١
68:18
Ahmed Ali
But did not add: "If God may please."
Shakir
And were not willing to set aside a portion (for the poor).
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور انشاء اللہ نہ کہا (ف۲۱)
68:18 فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَآئِفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ ٩١
68:19
Ahmed Ali
Then a calamity from your Lord fell upon it, but they remained fast asleep.
Shakir
Then there encompassed it a visitation from your Lord while they were sleeping.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اس پر (ف۲۲) تیرے رب کی طرف سے ایک پھیری کرنے والا پھیرا کر گیا (ف۲۳) اور وہ سوتے تھے،
68:19 فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَٱلصَّرِيمِ ٠٢
68:20
Ahmed Ali
So by the morning it seemed as though picked clean.
Shakir
So it became as black, barren land.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو صبح رہ گیا (ف۲۴) جیسے پھل ٹوٹا ہوا (ف۲۵)
68:20 فَتَنَادَوْا۟ مُصْبِحِينَ ١٢
68:21
Ahmed Ali
At daybreak they called to each other:

And they called out to each other in the morning,
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر انہوں نے صبح ہوتے ایک دوسرے کو پکارا،
68:21 أَنِ ٱغْدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰرِمِينَ ٢٢
68:22
Ahmed Ali
"If you want to gather the fruits, let us go early to the plantation."
Shakir
Saying: Go early to your tilth if you would cut (the produce).
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ تڑکے اپنی کھیتی چلو اگر تمہیں کاٹنی ہے،
68:22 فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ ٣٢
68:23
Ahmed Ali
So they departed, talking in low voices:
Shakir
So they went, while they consulted together secretly,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو چلے اور آپس میں آہستہ آہستہ کہتے جاتے تھے کہ
68:23 أَن لَّا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُم مِّسْكِينٌ ٤٢
68:24
Ahmed Ali
"Let no needy person come to you within it today."
Shakir
Saying: No poor man shall enter it today upon you.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہرگز آج کوئی مسکین تمہارے باغ میں آنے نہ پائے،
68:24 وَغَدَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَٰدِرِينَ ٥٢
68:25
Ahmed Ali
They left early in the morning bent on this purpose.
Shakir
And in the morning they went, having the power to prevent.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور تڑکے چلے اپنے اس ارادہ پر قدرت سمجھتے (ف۲۶)
68:25 فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لَضَآلُّونَ ٦٢
68:26
Ahmed Ali
When they saw (and did not recognise it) they said: "Surely we have lost the way.
Shakir
But when they saw it, they said: Most surely we have gone astray
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر جب اسے (ف۲۷) بولے بیشک ہم راستہ بہک گئے (ف۲۸)
68:26 بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ ٧٢
68:27
Ahmed Ali
No. In fact we have been deprived of it."
Shakir
Nay! we are made to suffer privation.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلکہ ہم بے نصیب ہوئے (ف۲۹)
68:27 قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ ٨٢
68:28
Ahmed Ali
One who was temperate among them, said: "Did I not say: ´Why don´t you priase God?´"
Shakir
The best of them said: Did I not say to you, Why do you not glorify (Allah)?
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان میں جو سب سے غنیمت تھا بولا کیا میں تم سے نہیں کہتا تھا کہ تسبیح کیوں نہیں کرتے (ف۳۰)
68:28 قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ ٩٢
68:29
Ahmed Ali
"Glory to our Lord," they said; we were really in the wrong."
Shakir
They said: Glory be to our Lord, surely we were unjust.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بولے پاکی ہے ہمارے رب کو بیشک ہم ظالم تھے،
68:29 فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ ٠٣
68:30
Ahmed Ali
Then they started blaming one another,
Shakir
Then some of them advanced against others, blaming each other.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اب ایک دوسرے کی طرف ملامت کرتا متوجہ ہوا (ف۳۱)
68:30 قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَٰغِينَ ١٣
68:31
Ahmed Ali
Saying: "Alas the woe, we were iniquitous.
Shakir
Said they: O woe to us! surely we were inordinate:
Ahmed Raza Khan
بولے ہائے خرابی ہماری بیشک ہم سرکش تھے (ف۳۲)
68:31 عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَٰغِبُونَ ٢٣
68:32
Ahmed Ali
Maybe our Lord will give us better than this. We turn to our Lord in supplication."
Shakir
Maybe, our Lord will give us instead one better than it; surely to our Lord do we make our humble petition.
Ahmed Raza Khan
امید ہے ہمیں ہمارا رب اس سے بہتر بدل دے ہم اپنے رب کی طرف رغبت لاتے ہیں (ف۳۳)
68:32 كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ ٣٣
68:33
Ahmed Ali
Such is Our chastisement; and the punishment of the Hereafter will be greater, if only they knew!
Shakir
Such is the chastisement, and certainly the chastisement of the hereafter is greater, did they but know!
Ahmed Raza Khan
مار ایسی ہوتی ہے (ف۳۴) اور بیشک آخرت کی مار سب سے بڑی، کیا اچھا تھا اگر وہ جانتے (ف۳۵)
68:33 إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٤٣
68:34
Ahmed Ali
For those who fear God there are pleasure gardens with their Lord.
Shakir
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall have with their Lord gardens of bliss.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ڈر والوں کے لیے ان کے رب کے پاس (ف۳۶) چین کے باغ ہیں (ف۳۷)
68:34 أَفَنَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ٥٣
68:35
Ahmed Ali
Should We treat those who submit and obey in the same way as those who are culpable?
Shakir
What! shall We then make (that is, treat) those who submit as the guilty?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا ہم مسلمانوں کو مجرموں کا سا کردیں (ف۳۸)
68:35 مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ ٦٣
68:36
Ahmed Ali
What has come upon you that you judge in such a wise?
Shakir
What has happened to you? How do you judge?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تمہیں کیا ہوا کیسا حکم لگاتے ہو (ف۳۹)
68:36 أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَٰبٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ ٧٣
68:37
Ahmed Ali
Or have you a Book in which you read
Shakir
Or have you a book wherein you read,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا تمہارے لیے کوئی کتاب ہے اس میں پڑھتے ہو،
68:37 إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ ٨٣
68:38
Ahmed Ali
That you can surely have whatever you choose?
Shakir
That you have surely therein what you choose?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ تمہارے لیے اس میں جو تم پسند کرو،
68:38 أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَٰنٌ عَلَيْنَا بَٰلِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ ٩٣
68:39
Ahmed Ali
Or have you taken a binding promise from Us which would hold till the Day of Judgement, that you will get whatever you demand?
Shakir
Or have you received from Us an agreement confirmed by an oath extending to the day of resurrection that you shall surely have what you demand?
Ahmed Raza Khan
یا تمہارے لیے ہم پر کچھ قسمیں ہیں قیامت تک پہنچتی ہوئی (ف۴۰) کہ تمہیں ملے گا جو کچھ دعویٰ کرتے ہو (ف۴۱)
68:39 سَلْهُمْ أَيُّهُم بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ ٠٤
68:40
Ahmed Ali
Ask them: "Which of you is able to vouch for this?"
Shakir
Ask them which of them will vouch for that,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم ان سے (ف۴۲) پوچھو ان میں کون سا اس کا ضامن ہے (ف۴۳)
68:40 أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَآءُ فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَٰدِقِينَ ١٤
68:41
Ahmed Ali
Or have they any partners? Let them bring their partners then, if what they say is true.
Shakir
Or have they associates if they are truthful.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یا ان کے پاس کچھ شریک ہیں (ف۴۴) تو اپنے شریکوں کو لے کر آئیں اگر سچے ہیں (ف۴۵)
68:41 يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٢٤
68:42
Ahmed Ali
On the day the great calamity befalls, and they are called to bow in homage, they will not be able to do so.
Shakir
On the day when there shall be a severe affliction, and they shall be called upon to make obeisance, but they shall not be able,
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن ایک ساق کھولی جائے گی (جس کے معنی اللہ ہی جانتا ہے) (ف۴۶) اور سجدہ کو بلائے جائیں گے (ف۴۷) تو نہ کرسکیں گے (ف۴۸)
68:42
