Even thus no apostle came to those before them but they said: "He is a sorcerer or a mad man."
Shakir
Thus there did not come to those before them a messenger but they said: A magician or a mad man.

یونہی (ف۵۶) جب ان سے اگلوں کے پاس کوئی رسول تشریف لایا تو یہی بولے کہ جادوگر ہے یا دیوانہ،
51:52 أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ ٣٥

Ahmed Ali
Is this the legacy they have passed down from one to the other? In fact, they are a rebellious people.
Shakir
Have they charged each other with this? Nay! they are an inordinate people.

کیا آپس میں ایک دوسرے کو یہ بات کہہ مرے ہیں بلکہ وہ سرکش لوگ ہیں (ف۵۷)
51:53 فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ ٤٥

Ahmed Ali
Turn away from them. You will not be blamed.
Shakir
Then turn your back upon them for you are not to blame;

تو اے محبوب! تم ان سے منہ پھیر لو تو تم پر کچھ الزام نہیں (ف۵۸)
51:54 وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٥٥

Ahmed Ali
But go on reminding them, as reminding benefits the believers.
Shakir
And continue to remind, for surely the reminder profits the believers.

اور سمجھاؤ کہ سمجھانا مسلمانوں کو فائدہ دیتا ہے،
51:55 وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ ٦٥

I have not created the jinns and men but to worship Me.
Shakir
And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve Me.

اور میں نے جن اور آدمی اتنے ہی لیے بنائے کہ میری بندگی کریں (ف۵۹)
51:56 مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ ٧٥

Ahmed Ali
I want no sustenance from them nor do I want them to feed Me.
Shakir
I do not desire from them any sustenance and I do not desire that they should feed Me.

میں ان سے کچھ رزق نہیں مانگتا (ف۶۰) اور نہ یہ چاہتا ہوں کہ وہ مجھے کھانا دیں (ف۶۱)
51:57 إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ ٨٥

God is certainly the great provider, Lord of strength and power.
Shakir
Surely Allah is the Bestower of sustenance, the Lord of Power, the Strong.

بیشک اللہ ہی بڑا رزق دینے والا قوت والا قدرت والا ہے (ف۶۲)
51:58 فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ ٩٥
51:59
Ahmed Ali
Those who do wrong will indeed come to the same end as their fellows (of old). So let them not ask Me to hasten (the punishment).
Shakir
So surely those who are unjust shall have a portion like the portion of their companions, therefore let them not ask Me to hasten on.

تو بیشک ان ظالموں کے لیے (ف۶۳) عذاب کی ایک باری ہے (ف۶۴) جیسے ان کے ساتھ والوں کے لیے ایک باری تھی (ف۶۵) تو مجھ سے جلدی نہ کریں (ف۶۶)
51:59 فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ ٠٦

Alas the woe for those who refuse to believe in the Day which has been promised them.

Therefore woe to those who disbelieve because of their day which they are threatened with.

تو کافروں کی خرابی ہے ان کے اس دن سے جس کا وعدہ دیے جاتے ہیں (ف۶۷)

I CALL TO witness the Mount Sinai,

52:2 فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ ٣

On a parchment scroll unrolled,

In an outstretched fine parchment,

جو کھلے دفتر میں لکھا ہے
52:3 وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ ٤

The house ever-peopled,
Shakir
And the House (Kaaba) that is visited,

اور بیت معمور (ف۴)
52:4 وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ ٥

The roof raised high,

And the elevated canopy

اور بلند چھت (ف۵)
52:5 وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ ٦

And the swollen sea,

And the swollen sea

اور سلگائے ہوئے سمندر کی (ف۶)
52:6 إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ ٧

Ahmed Ali
The punishment of your Lord is certain to come.
Shakir
Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass;
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک تیرے رب کا عذاب ضرور ہونا ہے (ف۷)
52:7 مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ ٨
52:8
Ahmed Ali
There is none who could avert it.
Shakir
There shall be none to avert it;

اسے کوئی ٹالنے والا نہیں
52:8 يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا ٩
52:9
Ahmed Ali
The day the sky will tremble,
Shakir
On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن آسمان ہلنا سا ہلنا ہلیں گے (ف۸)
52:9 وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا ٠١
52:10
Ahmed Ali
The mountains move and fly away,
Shakir
And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether).

اور پہاڑ چلنا سا چلنا چلیں گے (ف۹)
52:10 فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ١١
52:11
Ahmed Ali
Will be the day of woe for those
Shakir
So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth),

تو اس دن جھٹلانے والوں کی خرابی ہے (ف۱۰)
52:11 ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ ٢١
52:12
Ahmed Ali
Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries.
Shakir
Those who sport entering into vain discourses.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ جو مشغلہ میں (ف۱۱) کھیل رہے ہیں،
52:12 يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ٣١
52:13
Ahmed Ali
The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell,
Shakir
The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن جہنم کی طرف دھکا دے کر دھکیلے جائیں گے (ف۱۲)
52:13 هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ٤١

Ahmed Ali
(And told:) "This is the fire which you denied.
Shakir
This is the fire which you used to give the lie to.

یہ ہے وہ آگ جسے تم جھٹلاتے تھے (ف۱۳)

Is it magic then or do you not see?

تو کیا یہ جادو ہے یا تمہیں سوجھتا نہیں (ف۱۴)
52:15 ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٦١
52:16
Ahmed Ali
Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done."
Shakir
Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس میں جاؤ اب چاہے صبر کرو یا نہ کرو، سب تم پر ایک سا ہے (ف۱۵) تمہیں اسی کا بدلہ جو تم کرتے تھے (ف۱۶)
52:16 إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ ٧١
52:17
Ahmed Ali
Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss,
Shakir
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک پرہیزگار باغوں اور چین میں ہیں
52:17 فَٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ٨١
52:18
Ahmed Ali
Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell.
Shakir
Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اپنے رب کے دین پر شاد شاد (ف۱۷) اور انہیں ان کے رب نے آگ کے عذاب سے بچالیا (ف۱۸)
52:18 كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٩١
52:19
Ahmed Ali
"Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done."
Shakir
Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did,

کھاؤ اور پیو خوشگواری سے صِلہ اپنے اعمال کا (ف۱۹)
52:19 مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ ٠٢
52:20
Ahmed Ali
They would recline on couches set in rows, paired with fair companions (clean of thought and) bright of eye.
Shakir
Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones.

تختوں پر تکیہ لگائے جو قطار لگا کر بچھے ہیں اور ہم نے انہیں بیاہ دیا بڑی آنکھوں والی حوروں سے،
52:20 وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ ١٢
52:21
Ahmed Ali
And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does.
Shakir
And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought.

اور جو ایمان لائے اور ان کی اولاد نے ایمان کے ساتھ ان کی پیروی کی ہم نے ان کی اولاد ان سے ملادی (ف۲۰) اور ان کے عمل میں انہیں کچھ کمی نہ دی (ف۲۱) سب آدمی اپنے کیے میں گرفتار ہیں (ف۲۲)
52:21 وَأَمْدَدْنَٰهُم بِفَٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ٢٢
52:22
Ahmed Ali
We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire.
Shakir
And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے ان کی مدد فرمائی میوے اور گوشت سے جو چاہیں (ف۲۳)
52:22 يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ ٣٢
52:23
Ahmed Ali
They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin.
Shakir
They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin.

ایک دوسرے سے لیتے ہیں وہ جام جس میں نہ بیہودگی اور گنہگاری (ف۲۴)
52:23 ۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ ٤٢
52:24
Ahmed Ali
And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round.
Shakir
And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان کے خدمت گار لڑکے ان کے گرد پھریں گے (ف۲۵) گویا وہ موتی ہیں چھپا کر رکھے گئے (ف۲۶)
52:24 وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ٥٢
52:25
Ahmed Ali
They will ask each other questions,
Shakir
And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other.

اور ان میں ایک نے دوسرے کی طرف منہ کیا پوچھتے ہوئے (ف۲۷)
52:25 قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ ٦٢
52:26
Ahmed Ali
Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home.
Shakir
Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families:
Ahmed Raza Khan
بولے بیشک ہم اس سے پہلے اپنے گھروں میں سہمے ہوئے تھے (ف۲۸)
52:26 فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ ٧٢
52:27
Ahmed Ali
But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind.
Shakir
But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind:
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اللہ نے ہم پر احسان کیا (ف۲۹) اور ہمیں لُو کے عذاب سے بچالیا (ف۳۰)
52:27 إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٨٢
52:28
Ahmed Ali
We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful.
Shakir
Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے اپنی پہلی زندگی میں (ف۳۱) اس کی عبادت کی تھی، بیشک وہی احسان فرمانے والا مہربان ہے،
52:28 فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ ٩٢
52:29
Ahmed Ali
Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed.
Shakir
Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اے محبوب! تم نصیحت فرماؤ (ف۳۲) کہ تم اپنے رب کے فضل سے نہ کاہن ہو نہ مجنون،
52:29 أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ ٠٣
52:30
Ahmed Ali
Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?"
Shakir
Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یا کہتے ہیں (ف۳۳) یہ شاعر ہیں ہمیں ان پر حوادثِ زمانہ کا انتظارہے (ف۳۴)
52:30 قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ ١٣
52:31
Ahmed Ali
Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you."
Shakir
Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم فرماؤ انتظار کیے جاؤ (ف۳۵) میں بھی تمہارے انتظار میں ہوں (ف۳۶)
