Ahmed Ali
How many generations have We destroyed before them who were mightier in power than they. Then they searched throughout the land to see if there was a way of escape.
Shakir
And how many a generation did We destroy before them who were mightier in prowess than they, so they went about and about in the lands. Is there a place of refuge?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان سے پہلے (ف۵۹) ہم نے کتنی سنگتیں (قومیں) ہلاک فرمادیں کہ گرفت میں ان سے سخت تھیں (ف۶۰) تو شہروں میں کاوشیں کیں (ف۶۱) ہے کہیں بھاگنے کی جگہ (ف۶۲)
50:36 إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ ٧٣
50:37
Ahmed Ali
Surely there is a reminder in this for whosoever has a heart (to feel), or takes heed.
Shakir
Most surely there is a reminder in this for him who has a heart or he gives ear and is a witness.

بیشک اس میں نصیحت ہے اس کے لیے جو دِل رکھتا ہو (ف۶۳) یا کان لگائے (ف۶۴) اور متوجہ ہو،
50:37 وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ ٨٣
50:38
Ahmed Ali
We created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, and no weariness came upon Us.
Shakir
And certainly We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods and there touched Us not any fatigue.

اور بیشک ہم نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے چھ دن میں بنایا، اور تکان ہمارے پاس نہ آئی (ف۶۵)
50:38 فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ ٩٣
50:39
Ahmed Ali
So you bear with patience what they say, and sing the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun and its setting,
Shakir
Therefore be patient of what they say, and sing the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before the setting.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ان کی باتوں پر صبر کرو اور اپنے رب کی تعریف کرتے ہوئے اس کی پاکی بولو سورج چمکنے سے پہلے اور ڈوبنے سے پہلے (ف۶۶)
50:39 وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ ٠٤
50:40
Ahmed Ali
And glorify Him for some portion of the night, and additional adorations.
Shakir
And glorify Him in the night and after the prayers.

اور کچھ رات گئے اس کی تسبیح کرو (ف۶۷) اور نمازوں کے بعد (ف۶۸)
50:40 وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ ١٤
50:41
Ahmed Ali
Take heed that the day the crier calls from a place close (to every one),
Shakir
And listen on the day when the crier shall cry from a near place

اور کان لگا کر سنو جس دن پکارنے والا پکارے گا (ف۶۹) ایک پاس جگہ سے (ف۷۰)
50:41 يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ ٢٤
50:42
Ahmed Ali
The day they actually hear the blast, will be the Day of rising of the dead.
Shakir
The day when they shall hear the cry in truth; that is the day of coming forth.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن چنگھاڑ سنیں گے (ف۷۱) حق کے ساتھ، یہ دن ہے قبروں سے باہر آنے کا،
50:42 إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ ٣٤
50:43
Ahmed Ali
We are the one who give life and death, and to Us will be the destination.
Shakir
Surely We give life and cause to die, and to Us is the eventual coming;

بیشک ہم جِلائیں اور ہم ماریں اور ہماری طرف پھرنا ہے (ف۷۲)
50:43 يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ ٤٤
50:44
Ahmed Ali
The day the earth will split asunder they will come out hurriedly. This gathering together is easy for Us.
Shakir
The day on which the earth shall cleave asunder under them, they will make haste; that is a gathering together easy to Us.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن زمین ان سے پھٹے گی تو جلدی کرتے ہوئے نکلیں گے (ف۷۳) یہ حشر ہے ہم کو آسان،
50:44 نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ ٥٤
50:45
Ahmed Ali
We are cognisant of what they say; but it is not for you to compel them. So keep on reminding through the Qur´an whoever fears My warning.
Shakir
We know best what they say, and you are not one to compel them; therefore remind him by means of the Quran who fears My threat.

ہم خوب جان رہے ہیں جو وہ کہہ رہے ہیں (ف۷۴) اور کچھ تم ان پر جبر کرنے والے نہیں (ف۷۵) تو قرآن سے نصیحت کرو اسے جو میری دھمکی سے ڈرے،

I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing,
Shakir
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide,

قسم ان کی جو بکھیر کر اڑانے والیاں (ف۲)
51:1 فَٱلْحَٰمِلَٰتِ وِقْرًا ٢
51:2
Ahmed Ali
And those who bear the load (of rain),
Shakir
Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space).
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر بوجھ اٹھانے والیاں (ف۳)
51:2 فَٱلْجَٰرِيَٰتِ يُسْرًا ٣
51:3
Ahmed Ali
And those who move (on the water) gently,
Shakir
Then those (ships) that glide easily,
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر نرم چلنے والیاں (ف۴)
51:3 فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَٰتِ أَمْرًا ٤
51:4
Ahmed Ali
And those who distribute (it) by command,
Shakir
Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command;
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر حکم سے بانٹنے والیاں (ف۵)
51:4 إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ ٥
51:5
Ahmed Ali
Verily the promise made to you is true:
Shakir
What you are threatened with is most surely true,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک جس بات کا تمہیں وعدہ دیا جاتا ہے (ف۶) ضروری سچ ہے،
51:5 وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌ ٦
51:6
Ahmed Ali
The Judgement will indeed take place.
Shakir
And the judgment must most surely come about.

اور بیشک انصاف ضرور ہونا (ف۷)

I swear by the heaven full of ways.

آرائش والے آسمان کی قسم (ف۸)
51:7 إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ ٨
51:8
Ahmed Ali
You are surely caught in contradictions.,
Shakir
Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم مختلف بات میں ہو (ف۹)
51:8 يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ ٩
51:9
Ahmed Ali
From which only he turns who is turned away.
Shakir
He is turned away from it who would be turned away.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس قرآن سے وہی اوندھا کیا جاتا ہے جس کی قسمت ہی میں اوندھایا جانا ہو (ف۱۰)
51:9 قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ ٠١
51:10
Ahmed Ali
Perish will those who just guess and speculate,
Shakir
Cursed be the liars,
Ahmed Raza Khan
مارے جایں دل سے تراشنے والے
51:10 ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ ١١
51:11
Ahmed Ali
Who are lost in deception.
Shakir
Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful;
Ahmed Raza Khan
جو نشے میں بھولے ہوئے ہیں (ف۱۱)
51:11 يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ ٢١
51:12
Ahmed Ali
They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" --
Shakir
They ask: When is the day of judgment?
Ahmed Raza Khan
پوچھتے ہیں (ف۱۲) انصاف کا دن کب ہوگا (ف۱۳)
51:12 يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ ٣١
51:13
Ahmed Ali
The day they will be burnt in the Fire,
Shakir
(It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس دن ہوگا جس دن وہ آگ پر تپائے جائیں گے (ف۱۴)
51:13 ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ٤١
51:14
Ahmed Ali
(And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten."
Shakir
Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور فرمایا جائے گا چکھو اپنا تپنا، یہ ہے وہ جس کی تمہیں جلدی تھی (ف۱۵)
51:14 إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ٥١
51:15
Ahmed Ali
Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water,
Shakir
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک پرہیزگار باغوں اور چشموں میں ہیں (ف۱۶)
51:15 ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ ٦١
51:16
Ahmed Ali
Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this.
Shakir
Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اپنے رب کی عطائیں لیتے ہوئے، بیشک وہ اس سے پہلے (ف۱۷) نیکو کار تھے،
51:16 كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ ٧١
51:17
Ahmed Ali
They slept little in the night,
Shakir
They used to sleep but little in the night.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ رات میں کم سویا کرتے (ف۱۸)
51:17 وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ ٨١
51:18
Ahmed Ali
And every morning asked forgiveness,
Shakir
And in the morning they asked forgiveness.

اور پچھلی رات استغفار کرتے (ف۱۹)
51:18 وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ ٩١
51:19
Ahmed Ali
In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share.
Shakir
And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good).

اور ان کے مالوں میں حق تھا منگتا اور بے نصیب کا (ف۲۰)
51:19 وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ ٠٢
51:20
Ahmed Ali
There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith,
Shakir
And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور زمین میں نشانیاں ہیں یقین والوں کو (ف۲۱)
51:20 وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ ١٢
51:21
Ahmed Ali
And within yourselves. Can you not perceive?
Shakir
And in your own souls (too); will you not then see?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور خود تم میں (ف۲۲) تو کیا تمہیں سوجھتا نہیں،
51:21 وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ ٢٢
51:22
Ahmed Ali
There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you.
Shakir
And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور آسمان میں تمہارا رزق ہے (ف۲۳) اور جو تمہیں وعدہ دیا جاتا ہے (ف۲۴)
51:22 فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ ٣٢
51:23
Ahmed Ali
By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak.
Shakir
And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو آسمان اور زمین کے رب کی قسم بیشک یہ قرآن حق ہے ویسی ہی زبان میں جو تم بولتے ہو،
51:23 هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ ٤٢
51:24
Ahmed Ali
Has the story of Abraham´s honoured guests come to you?
Shakir
Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے محبوب! کیا تمہارے پاس ابراہیم کے معزز مہمانوں کی خبر آئی (ف۲۵)
51:24 إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًا قَالَ سَلَٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ ٥٢
51:25
Ahmed Ali
When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise.
Shakir
When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جب وہ اس کے پاس آکر بولے سلام کہا، سلام ناشناسا لوگ ہیں (ف۲۶)
51:25 فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ ٦٢
51:26
Ahmed Ali
So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf,
Shakir
Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf,
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر اپنے گھر گیا تو ایک فربہ بچھڑا لے آیا (ف۲۷)
51:26 فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ ٧٢
51:27
Ahmed Ali
And placing it before them said: "Won´t you eat?"
Shakir
So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat?
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر اسے ان کے پاس رکھا (ف۲۸) کہا کیا تم کھاتے نہیں،
51:27 فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ ٨٢
51:28
Ahmed Ali
He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son.
Shakir
So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اپنے جی میں ان سے ڈرنے لگا (ف۲۹) وہ بولے ڈریے نہیں (ف۳۰) اور اسے ایک علم والے لڑکے کی بشارت دی،
51:28 فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ ٩٢
51:29
Ahmed Ali
His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?"
Shakir
Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman!
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس پر اس کی بی بی (ف۳۱) چلاتی آئی پھر اپنا ماتھا ٹھونکا اور بولی کیا بڑھیا بانجھ (ف۳۲)
51:29 قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٠٣
51:30
Ahmed Ali
They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing."
Shakir
They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing.
Ahmed Raza Khan
انہوں نے کہا تمہارے رب نے یونہی فرمادیا، اور وہی حکیم دانا ہے،
51:30
