سورة محمد
47:1
Ahmed Ali
THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE and obstruct (others) from the way of God will have wasted their deeds.
Shakir
(As for) those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah´s way, He shall render their works ineffective.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکا (ف۲) اللہ نے ان کے عمل برباد کیے (ف۳)
47:1 وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَءَامَنُوا۟ بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ كَفَّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَأَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْ ٢
47:2
Ahmed Ali
But those who believe and do the right, and believe what has been revealed to Muhammad, which is the truth from their Lord, will have their faults condoned by Him and their state improved.
Shakir
And (as for) those who believe and do good, and believe in what has been revealed to Muhammad, and it is the very truth from their Lord, He will remove their evil from them and improve their condition.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے اور اس پر ایمان لائے جو محمد پر اتارا گیا (ف۴) اور وہی ان کے رب کے پاس سے حق ہے اللہ نے ان کی برائیاں اتار دیں اور ان کی حالتیں سنوار دیں (ف۵)
47:2 ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلْبَٰطِلَ وَأَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلْحَقَّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ أَمْثَٰلَهُمْ ٣
47:3
Ahmed Ali
That is because those who refuse to believe only follow what is false; but those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. That is how God gives men precepts of wisdom.
Shakir
That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, and have given them their dowries, taking (them) in marriage, not fornicating nor taking them for paramours in secret; and whoever denies faith, his work indeed is of no account, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ اس لیے کہ کافر باطل کے پیرو ہوئے اور ایمان والوں نے حق کی پیروی کی جو ان کے رب کی طرف سے ہے (ف۶) اللہ لوگوں سے ان کے احوال یونہی بیان فرماتا ہے (ف۷)
47:3 فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَضَرْبَ ٱلرِّقَابِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَثْخَنتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا۟ ٱلْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنًّۢا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَآءً حَتَّىٰ تَضَعَ ٱلْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ذَٰلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ لَٱنتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَا۟ بَعْضَكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَلَن يُضِلَّ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ ٤
47:4
Ahmed Ali
So, when you clash with the unbelievers, smite their necks until you overpower them, then hold them in bondage. Then either free them graciously or after taking a ransom, until war shall have come to end. If God had pleased He could have punished them (Himself), but He wills to test some of you through some others. He will not allow the deeds of those who are killed in the cause of God to go waste.
Shakir
So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates. That (shall be so); and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have exacted what is due from them, but that He may try some of you by means of others; and (as for) those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will by no means allow their deeds to perish.

تو جب کافروں سے تمہارا سامناہو(ف۸) تو گردنیں مارنا ہے (ف۹) یہاں تک کہ جب انہیں خوب قتل کرلو (ف۱۰) تو مضبوط باندھو، پھر اس کے بعد چاہے احسان کرکے چھوڑ دو چاہے فدیہ لے لو (ف۱۱) یہاں تک کہ لڑائی اپنابوجھ رکھ دے (ف۱۲) بات یہ ہے اوراللہ چاہتا تو آپ ہی اُن سے بدلہ لیتا (ف۱۳) مگر اس لئے (ف۱۴)تم میں ایک کو دوسرے سے جانچے (ف۱۵) اور جو اللہ کی راہ میں مارے گئے اللہ ہرگز ان کے عمل ضائع نہ فرمائے گا (ف۱۶)
47:4 سَيَهْدِيهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْ ٥
47:5
Ahmed Ali
He will show them the way, and better their state,
Shakir
He will guide them and improve their condition.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جلد انہیں راہ دے گا (ف۱۷) اور ان کا کام بنادے گا،
47:5 وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ ٦
47:6
Ahmed Ali
And will admit them into gardens with which he has acquainted them.
Shakir
And cause them to enter the garden which He has made known to them.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور انہیں جنت میں لے جائے گا انہیں اس کی پہچان کرادی ہے (ف۱۸)
47:6 يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تَنصُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ ٧
47:7
Ahmed Ali
O you who believe, if you help (in the cause of) God He will surely come to your aid, and firmly plant your feet.
Shakir
O you who believe! if you help (the cause of) Allah, He will help you and make firm your feet.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے ایمان والو اگر تم دین خدا کی مدد کرو گے اللہ تمہاری مدد کرے گا (ف۱۹) اور تمہارے قدم جمادے گا (ف۲۰)
47:7 وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَتَعْسًا لَّهُمْ وَأَضَلَّ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ ٨
47:8
Ahmed Ali
As for the unbelievers, they will suffer misfortunes, and their deeds will be rendered ineffective.
Shakir
And (as for) those who disbelieve, for them is destruction and He has made their deeds ineffective.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جنہوں نے کفر کیا تو ان پر تباہی پڑے اور اللہ ان کے اعمال برباد کرے،
47:8 ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ ٩
47:9
Ahmed Ali
That is so as they were averse to what has been revealed by God, and their actions will be nullified.
Shakir
That is because they hated what Allah revealed, so He rendered their deeds null.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ اس لیے کہ انہیں ناگوار ہوا جو اللہ نے اتارا (ف۲۱) تو اللہ نے ان کا کیا دھرا اِکارت کیا،
47:9 ۞ أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ دَمَّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَمْثَٰلُهَا ٠١
47:10
Ahmed Ali
Have they not journeyed in the land and seen the fate of those before them? Destroyed they were utterly by God; and a similar (fate) awaits the unbelievers.
Shakir
Have they not then journeyed in the land and seen how was the end of those before them: Allah brought down destruction upon them, and the unbelievers shall have the like of it.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو کیا انہوں نے زمین میں سفر نہ کیا کہ دیکھتے ان سے اگلوں کا (ف۲۲) کیسا انجام ہوا، اللہ نے ان پر تباہی ڈالی (ف۲۳) اور ان کافروں کے لیے بھی ویسی کتنی ہی ہیں (ف۲۴)
47:10 ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَوْلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَأَنَّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ لَا مَوْلَىٰ لَهُمْ ١١
47:11
Ahmed Ali
This is so for God is the friend of those who believe while the unbelievers have no friend.
Shakir
That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, and because the unbelievers shall have no protector for them.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ (ف۲۵) اس لیے کہ مسلمانوں کا مولیٰ اللہ ہے اور کافروں کا کوئی مولیٰ نہیں،
47:11

تَجْرِى

ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
كَفَرُوا۟
يَتَمَتَّعُونَ
وَيَأْكُلُونَ
كَمَا
تَأْكُلُ
ٱلْأَنْعَٰمُ
وَٱلنَّارُ
مَثْوًى
لَّهُمْ

Ahmed Ali
Verily God will admit those who believe and do the right into gardens with streams of water running by. But the unbelievers revel and carouse and subsist like beasts, and Hell will be their residence.
Shakir
Surely Allah will make those who believe and do good enter gardens beneath which rivers flow; and those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as the beasts eat, and the fire is their abode.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک اللہ داخل فرمائے گا انہیں جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے باغوں میں جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں، اور کافر برتتے ہیں اور کھاتے ہیں (ف۲۶) جیسے چوپائے کھائیں (ف۲۷) اور آگ میں ان کا ٹھکانا ہے،
47:12 وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ هِىَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِّن قَرْيَتِكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَخْرَجَتْكَ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ ٣١
47:13
Ahmed Ali
How many were the habitations, mightier than your city which has turned you out, which We destroyed; and they did not have a helper.
Shakir
And how many a town which was far more powerful than the town of yours which has driven you out: We destroyed them so there was no helper for them.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کتنے ہی شہر کہ اس شہر سے (ف۲۸) قوت میں زیادہ تھے جس نے تمہیں تمہارے شہر سے باہر کیا، ہم نے انہیں ہلاک فرمایا تو ان کا کوئی مددگار نہیں (ف۲۹)
47:13 أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ كَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُم ٤١
47:14
Ahmed Ali
Can one who stands on a clear proof from his Lord, be like one enamoured of his evil deeds and follows his inane desires?
Shakir
What! is he who has a clear argument from his Lord like him to whom the evil of his work is made fairseeming: and they follow their low desires.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو کیا جو اپنے رب کی طرف سے روشن دلیل پر ہو (ف۳۰) اُس (ف۳۱) جیسا ہوگا جس کے برے عمل اسے بھلے دکھائے گئے اور وہ اپنی خواہشوں کے پیچھے چلے (ف۳۲)
47:14 مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ فِيهَآ أَنْهَٰرٌ مِّن مَّآءٍ غَيْرِ ءَاسِنٍ وَأَنْهَٰرٌ مِّن لَّبَنٍ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُۥ وَأَنْهَٰرٌ مِّنْ خَمْرٍ لَّذَّةٍ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ وَأَنْهَٰرٌ مِّنْ عَسَلٍ مُّصَفًّى وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَٰلِدٌ فِى ٱلنَّارِ وَسُقُوا۟ مَآءً حَمِيمًا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَآءَهُمْ ٥١
47:15
Ahmed Ali
The semblance of Paradise promised the pious and devout (is that of a garden) with streams of water that will not go rank, and rivers of milk whose taste will not undergo a change, and rivers of wine delectable to drinkers, and streams of purified honey, and fruits of every kind in them, and forgiveness of their Lord. Are these like those who will live for ever in the Fire and be given boiling water to drink which will cut their intestines to shreds?
Shakir
A parable of the garden which those guarding (against evil) are promised: Therein are rivers of water that does not alter, and rivers of milk the taste whereof does not change, and rivers of drink delicious to those who drink, and rivers of honey clarified and for them therein are all fruits and protection from their Lord. (Are these) like those who abide in the fire and who are made to drink boiling water so it rends their bowels asunder.

احوال اس جنت کا جس کا وعدہ پرہیزگاروں سے ہے، اس میں ایسی پانی کی نہریں ہیں جو کبھی نہ بگڑے (ف۳۳) اور ایسے دودھ کی نہریں ہیں جس کا مزہ نہ بدلا (ف۳۴) اور ایسی شراب کی نہریں ہیں جس کے پینے میں لذت ہے (ف۳۵) اور ایسی شہد کی نہریں ہیں جو صاف کیا گیا (ف۳۶) اور ان کے لیے اس میں ہر قسم کے پھل ہیں، اور اپنے رب کی مغفرت (ف۳۷) کیا ایسے چین والے ان کی برابر ہوجائیں گے جنہیں ہمیشہ آگ میں رہنا اور انہیں کھولتا پانی پلایا جائے گا کہ آنتوں کے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کردے،
47:15 وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا خَرَجُوا۟ مِنْ عِندِكَ قَالُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ ءَانِفًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ ٦١
47:16
Ahmed Ali
There are some who listen to you; but as soon as they go from you they say to those who were given knowledge: "What is this he is saying now?" They are those whose hearts have been sealed by God, and they follow their own lusts.
Shakir
And there are those of them who seek to listen to you, until when they go forth from you, they say to those who have been given the knowledge: What was it that he said just now? These are they upon whose hearts Allah has set a seal and they follow their low desires.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان (ف۳۸) میں سے بعض تمہارے ارشاد سنتے ہیں (ف۳۹) یہاں تک کہ جب تمہارے پاس سے نکل کر جائیں (ف۴۰) علم والوں سے کہتے ہیں (ف۴۱) ابھی انہوں نے کیا فرمایا (ف۴۲) یہ ہیں وہ جن کے دلوں پر اللہ نے مہر کردی (ف۴۳) اور اپنی خواہشوں کے تابع ہوئے (ف۴۲)
47:16 وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَءَاتَىٰهُمْ تَقْوَىٰهُمْ ٧١
47:17
Ahmed Ali
But those who are rightly guided will be given greater guidance by Him, and they will have their intrinsic piety.
Shakir
And (as for) those who follow the right direction, He increases them in guidance and gives them their guarding (against evil).
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جنہوں نے راہ پائی (ف۴۵) اللہ نے ان کی ہدایت (ف۴۶) اور زیادہ فرمائی اور ان کی پرہیزگاری انہیں عطا فرمائی (ف۴۷)
47:17 فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً فَقَدْ جَآءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا فَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمْ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرَىٰهُمْ ٨١
47:18
Ahmed Ali
Do they wait for any thing but the Hour (of change), that it may come upon them suddenly? Its signs have already appeared. How then will they be warned when it has come upon them?
Shakir
Do they then wait for aught but the hour that it should come to them all of a sudden? Now indeed the tokens of it have (already) come, but how shall they have their reminder when it comes on them?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو کاہے کے انتظار میں ہیں (ف۴۸) مگر قیامت کے کہ ان پر اچانک آجائے، کہ اس کی علامتیں تو آہی چکی ہیں (ف۴۹) پھر جب آجائے گی تو کہاں وہ اور کہاں ان کا سمجھنا،
47:18 فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنۢبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَىٰكُمْ ٩١
47:19
Ahmed Ali
Know then, therefore, there is no god but He, and ask forgiveness for your sins and those of believing men and women. God knows your wanderings and your destination.
Shakir
So know that there is no god but Allah, and, ask protection for your fault and for the believing men and the believing women; and Allah knows the place of your returning and the place of your abiding.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو جان لو کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں اور اے محبوب! اپنے خاصوں اور عام مسلمان مردوں اور عورتوں کے گناہوں کی معافی مانگو (ف۵۰) اور اللہ جانتا ہے دن کو تمہارا پھرنا (ف۵۱) اور رات کو تمہارا آرام لینا (ف۵۲)
