حٰمٓ
44:1 وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ٢
44:2
Ahmed Ali
The perspicuous Book is witness
Shakir
I swear by the Book that makes manifest (the truth).
Ahmed Raza Khan
قسم اس روشن کتاب کی (ف۲)
44:2 إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ ٣
44:3
Ahmed Ali
(That) We sent it down one night of blessing -- so that We could warn --
Shakir
Surely We revealed it on a blessed night surely We are ever warning--
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے اسے برکت والی رات میں اتارا (ف۳) بیشک ہم ڈر سنانے والے ہیں (ف۴)
44:3 فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ ٤
44:4
Ahmed Ali
On which all affairs are sorted out and decided
Shakir
Therein every wise affair is made distinct,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس میں بانٹ دیا جاتا ہے ہر حکمت والا کام (ف۵)
44:4 أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ ٥
44:5
Ahmed Ali
As commands from Us. It is indeed We who send (messengers),
Shakir
A command from Us; surely We are the senders (of messengers),
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہمارے پاس کے حکم سے، بیشک ہم بھیجنے والے ہیں (ف۶)
44:5 رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٦
44:6
Ahmed Ali
A mercy from your Lord. Verily He is all-hearing and all-knowing,
Shakir
A mercy from your Lord, surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تمہارے رب کی طرف سے رحمت، بیشک وہی سنتا جانتا ہے،
44:6 رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ٧
44:7
Ahmed Ali
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you really do believe.
Shakir
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ جو رب ہے آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے، اگر تمہیں یقین ہو (ف۷)
44:7 لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٨
44:8
Ahmed Ali
There is no god other than He, who gives you life and death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old.
Shakir
There is no god but He; He gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں وہ جِلائے اور مارے، تمہارا رب اور تمہارے اگلے باپ دادا کا رب،
44:8 بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ ٩
44:9
Ahmed Ali
Yet they are lost in doubt and play.
Shakir
Nay, they are in doubt, they sport.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلکہ وہ شک میں پڑے کھیل رہے ہیں (ف۸)
44:9 فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ ٠١
44:10
Ahmed Ali
So watch for the day when the sky begins to emit clear smoke,
Shakir
Therefore keep waiting for the day when the heaven shall bring an evident smoke,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو تم اس دن کے منتظر رہو جب آسمان ایک ظاہر دھواں لائے گا،
44:10 يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ١١
44:11
Ahmed Ali
Which would envelope mankind. That would be a grievous affliction.
Shakir
That shall overtake men; this is a painful punishment.
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ لوگوں کو ڈھانپ لے گا (ف۹) یہ ہے دردناک عذاب،
44:11 رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ ٢١
44:12
Ahmed Ali
"O Lord, take away this torment from us," (they will pray); "we have come to believe."
Shakir
Our Lord! remove from us the punishment; surely we are believers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس دن کہیں گے، اے ہمارے رب! ہم پر سے عذاب کھول دے ہم ایمان لاتے ہیں (ف۱۰)
44:12 أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ ٣١
44:13
Ahmed Ali
How can a warning benefit them? The Apostle who explained all things clearly had come to them,
Shakir
How shall they be reminded, and there came to them an Messenger making clear (the truth),
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہاں سے ہو انہیں نصیحت ماننا (ف۱۱) حالانکہ ان کے پاس صاف بیان فرمانے والا رسول تشریف لاچکا (ف۱۲)
44:13 ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ ٤١
44:14
Ahmed Ali
But they turned away from him, and said: "He is well-instructed, (but) possessed."
Shakir
Yet they turned their backs on him and said: One taught (by others), a madman.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس سے روگرداں ہوئے اور بولے سکھایا ہوا دیوانہ ہے (ف۱۳)
44:14 إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ ٥١
44:15
Ahmed Ali
If We remove the torment a little, you revert back (to misdeeds).
Shakir
Surely We will remove the punishment a little, (but) you will surely return (to evil).
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہم کچھ دنوں کو عذاب کھولے دیتے ہیں تم پھر وہی کرو گے (ف۱۴)
44:15 يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ ٦١
44:16
Ahmed Ali
The day that We shall seize them with a grievous hold, We will indeed castigate them.
Shakir
On the day when We will seize (them) with the most violent seizing; surely We will inflict retribution.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن ہم سب سے بڑی پکڑ پکڑیں گے (ف۱۵) بیشک ہم بدلہ لینے والے ہیں،
44:16 ۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ ٧١
44:17
Ahmed Ali
We had tried the people of Pharaoh before them. A respected prophet had come to them (saying):
Shakir
And certainly We tried before them the people of Firon, and there came to them a noble messenger,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ہم نے ان سے پہلے فرعون کی قوم کو جانچا اور ان کے پاس ایک معزز رسول تشریف لایا (ف۱۶)
44:17 أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ٨١
44:18
Ahmed Ali
"Deliver the creatures of God to me. I am the trusted messenger sent to you.
Shakir
Saying: Deliver to me the servants of Allah, surely I am a faithful messenger to you,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ اللہ کے بندوں کو مجھے سپرد کردو (ف۱۷) بیشک میں تمہارے لیے امانت والا رسول ہوں،
44:18

Ahmed Ali
Do not think yourselves to be above God: I have come to you with clear authority.
Shakir
And that do not exalt yourselves against Allah, surely I will bring to you a clear authority:
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اللہ کے مقابل سرکشی نہ کرو، میں تمہارے پاس ایک روشن سند لاتا ہوں (ف۱۸)
44:19 وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ ٠٢
44:20
Ahmed Ali
I have taken refuge in my Lord and your Lord against your stoning me to death.
Shakir
And surely I take refuge with my Lord and your Lord that you should stone me to death:
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور میں پناہ لیتا ہوں اپنے رب اور تمہارے رب کی اس سے کہ تم مجھے سنگسار کرو (ف۱۹)
44:20 وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ ١٢
44:21
Ahmed Ali
If you do not believe in me, leave me alone."
Shakir
And if you do not believe in me, then leave me alone.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اگر میرا یقین نہ لاؤ تو مجھ سے کنارے ہوجاؤ (ف۲۰)
44:21 فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ ٢٢
44:22
Ahmed Ali
Then he called to his Lord: "These are a sinful people."
Shakir
Then he called upon his Lord: These are a guilty people.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اس نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ یہ مجرم لوگ ہیں،
44:22 فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ٣٢
44:23
Ahmed Ali
"Journey by night with My devotees," (it was said); "you will certainly be pursued.
Shakir
So go forth with My servants by night; surely you will be pursued:
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہم نے حکم فرمایا کہ میرے بندوں (ف۲۱) کو راتوں رات لے نکل ضرور تمہارا پیچھا کیا جائے گا (ف۲۲)
44:23 وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ ٤٢
44:24
Ahmed Ali
(Cross and) leave the sea undisturbed. The (pursuing) hosts will surely be drowned,"
Shakir
And leave the sea intervening; surely they are a host that shall be drowned.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور دریا کو یونہی جگہ جگہ سے چھوڑ دے (ف۲۳) بیشک وہ لشکر ڈبو دیا جائے گا (ف۲۴)
44:24 كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ٥٢
44:25
Ahmed Ali
How many gardens and fountains did they leave behind,
Shakir
How many of the gardens and fountains have they left!
Ahmed Raza Khan
کتنے چھوڑ گئے باغ اور چشمے،
44:25 وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ ٦٢
44:26
Ahmed Ali
And fields and stately mansions,
Shakir
And cornfields and noble places!
Ahmed Raza Khan
او رکھیت اور عمدہ مکانات (ف۲۵)
44:26 وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ ٧٢
44:27
Ahmed Ali
And the comfort they enjoyed.
Shakir
And goodly things wherein they rejoiced;
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور نعمتیں جن میں فارغ البال تھے (ف۲۶)
44:27 كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ ٨٢
44:28
Ahmed Ali
Thus it was; and We passed them on to another people.
Shakir
Thus (it was), and We gave them as a heritage to another people.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہم نے یونہی کیا اور ان کا وارث دوسری قوم کو کردیا (ف۲۷)
44:28 فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ ٩٢
44:29
Ahmed Ali
Neither did the heavens weep for them, nor the earth, nor were they granted respite.
Shakir
So the heaven and the earth did not weep for them, nor were they respited.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ان پر آسمان اور زمین نہ روئے (ف۲۸) اور انہیں مہلت نہ دی گئی (ف۲۹)
44:29 وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ ٠٣
44:30
Ahmed Ali
So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering
Shakir
And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو ذلت کے عذاب سے نجات بخشی (ف۳۰)
44:30 مِن فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ١٣
44:31
Ahmed Ali
They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess.
Shakir
From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant.
Ahmed Raza Khan
فرعون سے، بیشک وہ متکبر حد سے بڑھنے والوں سے،
44:31 وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٢٣
44:32
Ahmed Ali
And We exalted them over the other people knowingly,
Shakir
And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ہم نے انہیں (ف۳۱) دانستہ چن لیا اس زمانے والوں سے،
44:32 وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ ٣٣
44:33
Ahmed Ali
And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them.
Shakir
And We gave them of the communications wherein was clear blessing.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہم نے انہیں وہ نشانیاں عطا فرمائیں جن میں صریح انعام تھا (ف۳۲)
44:33 إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ ٤٣
44:34
Ahmed Ali
Even then they say:

Most surely these do say:
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک یہ (ف۳۳) کہتے ہیں،
44:34 إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ ٥٣
44:35
Ahmed Ali
"There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again.
Shakir
There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ تو نہیں مگر ہمارا ایک دفعہ کا مرنا (ف۳۴) اور ہم اٹھائے نہ جائیں گے (ف۳۵)
44:35 فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ٦٣
44:36
Ahmed Ali
So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful."
Shakir
So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ہمارے باپ دادا کو لے آؤ اگر تم سچے ہو (ف۳۶)
44:36 أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ ٧٣
44:37
Ahmed Ali
Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners?
Shakir
Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty.
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا وہ بہتر ہیں (ف۳۷) یا تبع کی قوم (ف۳۸) اور جو ان سے پہلے تھے (ف۳۹) ہم نے انہیں ہلاک کردیا (ف۴۰) بیشک وہ مجرم لوگ تھے (ف۴۱)
44:37 وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ ٨٣
44:38
Ahmed Ali
We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play.
Shakir
And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے نہ بنائے آسمان اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے کھیل کے طور پر (ف۴۲)
44:38 مَا خَلَقْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٩٣
44:39
Ahmed Ali
We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand.
Shakir
We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہم نے انہیں نہ بنایا مگر حق کے ساتھ (ف۴۳) لیکن ان میں اکثر جانتے نہیں (ف۴۴)
44:39
