وَكَذَٰلِكَ
أَوْحَيْنَآ
إِلَيْكَ
رُوحًا
مِّنْ
أَمْرِنَا
مَا
كُنتَ
تَدْرِى
مَا
ٱلْكِتَٰبُ
وَلَا
ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ
وَلَٰكِن
جَعَلْنَٰهُ
نُورًا
نَّهْدِى
بِهِۦ
مَن
نَّشَآءُ
مِنْ
عِبَادِنَا
وَإِنَّكَ
لَتَهْدِىٓ
إِلَىٰ
صِرَٰطٍ
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

Ahmed Ali
So have We revealed to you the Qur´an by Our command. You did not know what the Scripture was before, nor (the laws of) faith. And We made it a light by which We show the way to those of Our creatures as We please; and you certainly guide them to the right path,
Shakir
And thus did We reveal to you an inspired book by Our command. You did not know what the Book was, nor (what) the faith (was), but We made it a light, guiding thereby whom We please of Our servants; and most surely you show the way to the right path:

اور یونہی ہم نے تمہیں وحی بھیجی (ف۱۳۳) ایک جان فزا چیز (ف۱۳۴) اپنے حکم سے، اس سے پہلے نہ تم کتاب جانتے تھے نہ احکام شرع کی تفصیل ہاں ہم نے اسے (ف۱۳۵) نور کیا جس سے ہم راہ دکھاتے ہیں اپنے بندوں سے جسے چاہتے ہیں، اور بیشک تم ضرور سیدھی راہ بتاتے ہو (ف۱۳۶)
42:52 صِرَٰطِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَلَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَصِيرُ ٱلْأُمُورُ ٣٥
42:53
Ahmed Ali
The path of God to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And will not all things go back to God?
Shakir
The path of Allah, Whose is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth; now surely to Allah do all affairs eventually come.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اللہ کی راہ (ف۱۳۷) کہ اسی کا ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں، سنتے ہو سب کام اللہ ہی کی طرف پھیرتے ہیں،

43:1 وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ٢
43:2
Ahmed Ali
I call to witness the lucent Book,
Shakir
I swear by the Book that makes things clear:

روشن کتاب کی قسم (ف۲)
43:2 إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ٣
43:3
Ahmed Ali
That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur´an that you may understand.
Shakir
Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہم نے اسے عربی قرآن اتارا کہ تم سمجھو (ف۳)
43:3 وَإِنَّهُۥ فِىٓ أُمِّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِىٌّ حَكِيمٌ ٤
43:4
Ahmed Ali
It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws.
Shakir
And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک وہ اصل کتاب میں (ف۴) ہمارے پاس ضرور بلندی و حکمت والا ہے،
43:4 أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنكُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَ صَفْحًا أَن كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّسْرِفِينَ ٥
43:5
Ahmed Ali
Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds?
Shakir
What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو کیا ہم تم سے ذکر کا پہلو پھیردیں اس پر کہ تم لوگ حد سے بڑھنے والے ہو (ف۵)
43:5 وَكَمْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن نَّبِىٍّ فِى ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٦
43:6
Ahmed Ali
Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities,
Shakir
And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے کتنے ہی غیب بتانے والے (نبی) اگلوں میں بھیجے،
43:6 وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٧
43:7
Ahmed Ali
But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff.
Shakir
And there came not to them a prophet but they mocked at him.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان کے پاس جو غیب بتانے والا (نبی) آیا اس کی ہنسی ہی بنایا کیے (ف۶)
43:7 فَأَهْلَكْنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٨
43:8
Ahmed Ali
So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there.
Shakir
Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before,

تو ہم نے وہ ہلاک کردیے جو ان سے بھی پکڑ میں سخت تھے (ف۷) اور اگلوں کا حال گزر چکا ہے،
43:8 وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٩
43:9
Ahmed Ali
If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them,"
Shakir
And if you should ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth? they would most certainly say: The Mighty, the Knowing One, has created them;
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اگر تم ان سے پوچھو (ف۸) کہ آسمان اور زمین کس نے بنائے تو ضرور کہیں گے انہیں بنایا اس عزت والے علم والے نے (ف۹)
43:9 ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ٠١
43:10
Ahmed Ali
He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way;
Shakir
He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright;
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس نے تمہارے لیے زمین کو بچھونا کیا اورتمہارے لیے اس میں راستے کیے کہ تم راہ پاؤ (ف۱۰)
43:10

Ahmed Ali
Who sent down water in due measure from the sky, then quickened a region that was dead -- So shall We bring you forth --
Shakir
And He Who sends down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We raise to life thereby a dead country, even thus shall you be brought forth;
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور وہ جس نے آسمان سے پانی اتارا ایک اندازے سے (ف۱۱) تو ہم نے اس سے ایک مردہ شہر زندہ فرمادیا، یونہی تم نکالے جاؤ گے (ف۱۲)
43:11 وَٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْفُلْكِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ مَا تَرْكَبُونَ ٢١
43:12
Ahmed Ali
He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride,
Shakir
And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جس نے سب جوڑے بنائے (ف۱۳) اور تمہارے لیے کشتیوں اور چوپایوں سے سواریاں بنائیں،
43:12 لِتَسْتَوُۥا۟ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِۦ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقْرِنِينَ ٣١
43:13
Ahmed Ali
So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so.
Shakir
That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ تم ان کی پیٹھوں پر ٹھیک بیٹھو (ف۱۴) پھر اپنے رب کی نعمت یاد کرو جب اس پر ٹھیک بیٹھ لو اور یوں کہو پاکی ہے اسے جس نے اس سواری کو ہمارے بس میں کردیا اور یہ ہمارے بوتے (قابو) کی نہ تھی،
43:13 وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ ٤١
43:14
Ahmed Ali
Surely we have to go back to our Lord."
Shakir
And surely to our Lord we must return.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ہمیں اپنے رب کی طرف پلٹنا ہے (ف۱۵)
43:14 وَجَعَلُوا۟ لَهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ جُزْءًا إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَكَفُورٌ مُّبِينٌ ٥١
43:15
Ahmed Ali
Yet they make some of His creatures His offspring! Man is surely most ungrateful.
Shakir
And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اس کے لیے اس کے بندوں میں سے ٹکڑا ٹھہرایا (ف۱۶) بیشک آدمی (ف۱۷) کھلا ناشکرا ہے (ف۱۸)
43:15 أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ بَنَاتٍ وَأَصْفَىٰكُم بِٱلْبَنِينَ ٦١
43:16
Ahmed Ali
Or has He taken from those He has created daughters for Himself, and assigned sons to you?
Shakir
What! has He taken daughters to Himself of what He Himself creates and chosen you to have sons?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا اس نے اپنے لیے اپنی مخلوق میں سے بیٹیاں لیں اور تمہیں بیٹوں کے ساتھ خاص کیا (ف۱۹)
43:16 وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ مَثَلًا ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ ٧١
43:17
Ahmed Ali
Yet when news of (a daughter) they had reserved for Ar-Rahman comes to one of them, his face is blackened (with shame), and he grieves in silence inwardly.
Shakir
And when one of them is given news of that of which he sets up as a likeness for the Beneficent Allah, his face becomes black and he is full of rage.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جب ان میں کسی کو خوشخبری دی جائے اس چیز کی (ف۲۰) جس کا وصف رحمن کے لیے بتاچکا ہے (ف۲۱) تو دن بھر اس کا منہ کالا رہے اور غم کھایا کرے (ف۲۲)
43:17 أَوَمَن يُنَشَّؤُا۟ فِى ٱلْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍ ٨١
43:18
Ahmed Ali
Can one who has been raised on ornaments and cannot present her case coolly in a dispute (be associated with God?)
Shakir
What! that which is made in ornaments and which in contention is unable to make plain speech!
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کیا (ف۲۳) وہ جو گہنے (زیور) میں پروان چڑھے (ف۲۴) اور بحث میں صاف بات نہ کرے (ف۲۵)
43:18 وَجَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عِبَٰدُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ إِنَٰثًا أَشَهِدُوا۟ خَلْقَهُمْ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَٰدَتُهُمْ وَيُسْـَٔلُونَ ٩١
43:19
Ahmed Ali
Yet they have made the angels, who are creatures of Ar-Rahman, females. Did they witness their creation? We shall record their testimony, and they will be interrogated.
Shakir
And they make the angels-- them who are the servants of the Beneficent Allah-- female (divinities). What! did they witness their creation? Their evidence shall be written down and they shall be questioned.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور انہوں نے فرشتوں کو، کہ رحمٰن کے بندے ہیں عورتیں ٹھہرایا (ف۲۶) کیا ان کے بناتے وقت یہ حاضر تھے (ف۲۷) اب لکھ لی جائے گی ان کی گواہی (ف۲۸) اور ان سے جواب طلب ہوگا (ف۲۹)
43:19 وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَٰهُم مَّا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ ٠٢
43:20
Ahmed Ali
Yet they say: "If Ar-Rahman had so pleased we would not have worshipped them." They have no knowledge of it in the least. They only make up lies.
Shakir
And they say: If the Beneficent Allah had pleased, we should never have worshipped them. They have no knowledge of this; they only lie.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بولے اگر رحمٰن چاہتا ہم انہیں نہ پوجتے (ف۳۰) انہیں اس کی حقیقت کچھ معلوم نہیں (ف۳۱) یونہی اٹکلیں دوڑاتے ہیں (ف۳۲)
43:20 أَمْ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ كِتَٰبًا مِّن قَبْلِهِۦ فَهُم بِهِۦ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ ١٢
43:21
Ahmed Ali
Did We give them a Scripture before this to which they are holding fast?
Shakir
Or have We given them a book before it so that they hold fast to it?
Ahmed Raza Khan
یا اس سے قبل ہم نے انہیں کوئی کتاب دی ہے جسے وہ تھامے ہوئے ہیں (ف۳۳)
43:21 بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم مُّهْتَدُونَ ٢٢
43:22
Ahmed Ali
In fact they say: "We found our fathers following a certain way, and are guided by their footprints."
Shakir
Nay! they say: We found our fathers on a course, and surely we are guided by their footsteps.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلکہ بولے ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ایک دین پر پایا اور ہم ان کی لکیر پر چل رہے ہیں (ف۳۴)
