وَتَرَى
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ
حَآفِّينَ
مِنْ
حَوْلِ
ٱلْعَرْشِ
يُسَبِّحُونَ
بِحَمْدِ
رَبِّهِمْ
وَقُضِىَ
بَيْنَهُم
بِٱلْحَقِّ
وَقِيلَ
ٱلْحَمْدُ
لِلَّهِ
رَبِّ
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Ahmed Ali
You will see the angels hover round the Throne, singing the praises of their Lord; and justice will be done between them equitably, and it would be said: "All praise to God the Lord of all the worlds."
Shakir
And you shall see the angels going round about the throne glorifying the praise of their Lord; and judgment shall be given between them with justice, and it shall be said: All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

اور تم فرشتوں کو دیکھو گے عرش کے آس پاس حلقہ کیے اپنے رب کی تعریف کے ساتھ ا س کی پاکی بولتے اور لوگوں میں سچا فیصلہ فرمادیا جائے گا (ف۱۵۸) اور کہا جائے گا کہ سب خوبیاں اللہ کو جو سارے جہاں کا رب (ف۱۵۹)

40:1 تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ ٢
40:2
Ahmed Ali
The revelation of this Book is from God the all-mighty and all-knowing,

The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the Knowing,

یہ کتاب اتارنا ہے اللہ کی طرف سے جو عزت والا، علم والا،
40:2 غَافِرِ ٱلذَّنۢبِ وَقَابِلِ ٱلتَّوْبِ شَدِيدِ ٱلْعِقَابِ ذِى ٱلطَّوْلِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ إِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ٣
40:3
Ahmed Ali
Forgiver of trespasses, acceptor of repentance, severe of retribution, lord of power. There is no god but He. Towards Him is your destination.
Shakir
The Forgiver of the faults and the Acceptor of repentance, Severe to punish, Lord of bounty; there is no god but He; to Him is the eventual coming.
Ahmed Raza Khan
گناہ بخشنے والا اور توبہ قبول کرنے والا (ف۲) سخت عذاب کرنے والا (ف۳) بڑے انعام والا (ف۴) اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، اسی کی طرف پھرنا ہے (ف۵)
40:3 مَا يُجَٰدِلُ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَلَا يَغْرُرْكَ تَقَلُّبُهُمْ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ ٤
40:4
Ahmed Ali
Only the unbelievers dispute the revelations of God. So do not let their activities in the land deceive you.
Shakir
None dispute concerning the communications of Allah but those who disbelieve, therefore let not their going to and fro in the cities deceive you.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اللہ کی آیتوں میں جھگڑا نہیں کرتے مگر کافر (ف۶) تو اے سننے والے تجھے دھوکا نہ دے ان کا شہروں میں اہل گہلے (اِتراتے) پھرنا (ف۷)
40:4 كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ وَهَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍۭ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِيَأْخُذُوهُ وَجَٰدَلُوا۟ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُوا۟ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ ٥
40:5
Ahmed Ali
The people of Noah had denied before them, and many factions after them. Every nation has intrigued against its apostle and afflicted him, and argued with false arguments to condemn the truth. Then I seized them. How was then My retribution!
Shakir
The people of Nuh and the parties after them rejected (prophets) before them, and every nation purposed against their messenger to destroy him, and they disputed by means of the falsehood that they might thereby render null the truth, therefore I destroyed them; how was then My retribution!

ان سے پہلے نوح کی قوم اور ان کے بعد کے گروہوں (ف۸) نے جھٹلایا، اور ہر امت نے یہ قصد کیا کہ اپنے رسول کو پکڑ لیں (ف۹) اور باطل کے ساتھ جھگڑے کہ اس سے حق کو ٹال دیں (ف۱۰) تو میں نے انہیں پکڑا، پھر کیسا ہوا میرا عذاب (ف۱۱)
40:5 وَكَذَٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ٦
40:6
Ahmed Ali
In this way the sentence of your Lord against the infidels that they would be the inmates of Hell, was justified.
Shakir
And thus did the word of your Lord prove true against those who disbelieved that they are the inmates of the fire.

اور یونہی تمہارے رب کی بات کافروں پر ثابت ہوچکی ہے کہ وہ دوزخی ہیں،
40:6 ٱلَّذِينَ يَحْمِلُونَ ٱلْعَرْشَ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ رَّحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَٱغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ٧
40:7
Ahmed Ali
The bearers of the Throne, and those around it, sing the praises of their Lord and believe in Him, and seek forgiveness for those who believe: "O our Lord, Your mercy and knowledge embrace everything; so forgive those who turn to You in repentance and follow Your path; and preserve them from the torment of Hell.
Shakir
Those who bear the power and those around Him celebrate the praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask protection for those who believe: Our Lord! Thou embracest all things in mercy and knowledge, therefore grant protection to those who turn (to Thee) and follow Thy way, and save them from the punishment of the hell:

وہ جو عرش اٹھاتے ہیں (ف۱۲) اور جو اس کے گرد ہیں (ف۱۳) اپنے کی تعریف کے ساتھ اس کی پاکی بولتے (ف۱۴) اور اس پر ایمان لاتے (ف۱۵) اور مسلمانوں کی مغفرت مانگتے ہیں (ف۱۶) اے رب ہمارے تیرے رحمت و علم میں ہر چیز کی سمائی ہے (ف۱۷) تو انہیں بخش دے جنہوں نے توبہ کی اور تیری راہ پر چلے (ف۱۸) اور انہیں دوزخ کے عذاب سے بچالے،

Admit them, O Lord, to the garden of Eden which You promised them, and those of their fathers, spouses and progeny who are upright. You are truly all-mighty and all-wise.
Shakir
Our Lord! and make them enter the gardens of perpetuity which Thou hast promised to them and those who do good of their fathers and their wives and their offspring, surely Thou are the Mighty, the Wise.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے ہمارے رب! اور انہیں بسنے کے باغوں میں داخل کر جن کا تو نے ان سے وعدہ فرمایا ہے اور ان کو جو نیک ہوں ان کے باپ دادا اور بیبیوں اور اولاد میں (ف۱۹) بیشک تو ہی عزت و حکمت والا ہے،
40:8 وَقِهِمُ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ وَمَن تَقِ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُۥ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ٩
40:9
Ahmed Ali
Protect them from evil; and whosoever You preserve from evil on that Day shall have surely received Your mercy. This will be the great triumph."
Shakir
And keep them from evil deeds, and whom Thou keepest from evil deeds this day, indeed Thou hast mercy on him, and that is the mighty achievement.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور انہیں گناہوں کی شامت سے بچالے، اور جسے تو اس دن گناہوں کی شامت سے بچائے تو بیشک تو نے اس پر رحم فرمایا، اور یہی بڑی کامیابی ہے،
40:9 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُنَادَوْنَ لَمَقْتُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ مِن مَّقْتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ إِذْ تُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلْإِيمَٰنِ فَتَكْفُرُونَ ٠١
40:10
Ahmed Ali
Those who disbelieve will certainly be told: "God´s displeasure was greater than your disgust of your selves when you were called to belief and refused to believe."
Shakir
Surely those who disbelieve shall be cried out to: Certainly Allah´s hatred (of you) when you were called upon to the faith and you rejected, is much greater than your hatred of yourselves.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک جنہوں نے کفر کیا ان کو ندا کی جائے گی (ف۲۰) کہ ضرور تم سے اللہ کی بیزاری اس سے بہت زیادہ ہے جیسے تم آج اپنی جان سے بیزار ہو جب کہ تم (ف۲۱) ایمان کی طرف بلائے جاتے تو تم کفر کرتے،
40:10 قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ أَمَتَّنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ فَٱعْتَرَفْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا فَهَلْ إِلَىٰ خُرُوجٍ مِّن سَبِيلٍ ١١
40:11
Ahmed Ali
They say: "O Lord, twice You made us die, and twice You made us live. We admit our sins. Is there still a way out for us?"
Shakir
They shall say: Our Lord! twice didst Thou make us subject to death, and twice hast Thou given us life, so we do confess our faults; is there then a way to get out?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہیں گے اے ہمارے رب تو نے ہمیں دوبارہ مردہ کیا اور دوبارہ زندہ کیا (ف۲۲) اب ہم اپنے گناہوں پر مُقِر ہوئے تو آگ سے نکلنے کی بھی کوئی راہ ہے (ف۲۳)
40:11 ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّهُۥٓ إِذَا دُعِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُۥ كَفَرْتُمْ وَإِن يُشْرَكْ بِهِۦ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَٱلْحُكْمُ لِلَّهِ ٱلْعَلِىِّ ٱلْكَبِيرِ ٢١
40:12
Ahmed Ali
This has come upon you because when God alone was invoked you disbelieved; but when partners were associated with Him, you believed. But judgement belongs to God, the all-high and supreme.
Shakir
That is because when Allah alone was called upon, you disbelieved, and when associates were given to Him, you believed; so judgment belongs to Allah, the High, the Great.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ اس پر ہوا کہ جب ایک اللہ پکارا جاتا تو تم کفر کرتے (ف۲۴) اور ان کا شریک ٹھہرایا جاتا تو تم مان لیتے (ف۲۵) تو حکم اللہ کے لیے ہے جو سب سے بلند بڑا،
40:12 هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُنَزِّلُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقًا وَمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ إِلَّا مَن يُنِيبُ ٣١
40:13
Ahmed Ali
It is He who shows you His signs, and sends you food from the heavens. Yet none takes a warning except him who turns to Him.
Shakir
He it is Who shows you His signs and sends down for you sustenance from heaven, and none minds but he who turns (to Him) again and again.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہی ہے کہ تمہیں اپنی نشانیاں دکھاتا ہے (ف۲۶) اور تمہارے لیے آسمان سے روزی اتارتا ہے (ف۲۷) اور نصیحت نہیں مانتا (ف۲۸) مگر جو رجوع لائے (ف۲۹)
40:13 فَٱدْعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ ٤١
40:14
Ahmed Ali
So call on God with exclusive obedience, howsoever the unbelievers may dislike it.
Shakir
Therefore call upon Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, though the unbelievers are averse:
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اللہ کی بندگی کرو نرے اس کے بندے ہوکر (ف۳۰) پڑے برا مانیں کافر،
40:14 رَفِيعُ ٱلدَّرَجَٰتِ ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ يُلْقِى ٱلرُّوحَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ لِيُنذِرَ يَوْمَ ٱلتَّلَاقِ ٥١
40:15
Ahmed Ali
Most exalted of position, Lord of power, He directs inspiration by His command to any of His creatures as He will, to warn (men) of the Day of Meeting,
Shakir
Possessor of the highest rank, Lord of power: He makes the inspiration to light by His command upon whom He pleases of His servants, that he may warn (men) of the day of meeting.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلند درجے دینے والا (ف۳۱) عرش کامالک ایمان کی جان وحی ڈالتا ہے اپنے حکم سے اپنے بندوں میں جس پر چاہے (ف۳۲) کہ وہ ملنے کے دن سے ڈرائے (ف۳۳)
40:15 يَوْمَ هُم بَٰرِزُونَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ شَىْءٌ لِّمَنِ ٱلْمُلْكُ ٱلْيَوْمَ لِلَّهِ ٱلْوَٰحِدِ ٱلْقَهَّارِ ٦١
40:16
Ahmed Ali
The day when they will come out (of their graves), with nothing of them hidden from God. Whose then will be the kingdom? -- God´s, the one, the omnipotent.
Shakir
(Of) the day when they shall come forth, nothing concerning them remains hidden to Allah. To whom belongs the kingdom this day? To Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all).
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن وہ بالکل ظاہر ہوجائیں گے (ف۳۴) اللہ پر ان کا کچھ حال چھپا نہ ہوگا (ف۳۵) آج کسی کی بادشاہی ہے (ف۳۶) ایک اللہ سب پر غا لب کی، ف۳۷)
