سورة الصافات
37:1
Ahmed Ali
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows,
Shakir
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks
Ahmed Raza Khan
قسم ان کی کہ باقاعدہ صف باندھیں (ف۲)
37:1 فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا ٢
37:2
Ahmed Ali
And those who restrain by reprimanding,
Shakir
Then those who drive away with reproof,
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر ان کی کہ جھڑک کر چلائیں (ف۳)
37:2 فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا ٣
37:3
Ahmed Ali
And those who recite the Reminder,
Shakir
Then those who recite, being mindful,
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر ان جماعتوں کی، کہ قرآن پڑھیں،
37:3 إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ ٤
37:4
Ahmed Ali
Verily your God is One,
Shakir
Most surely your Allah is One:
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک تمہارا معبود ضرور ایک ہے،
37:4 رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ ٥
37:5
Ahmed Ali
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts.
Shakir
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts.
Ahmed Raza Khan
مالک آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے اور مالک مشرقوں کا (ف۴)
37:5 إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ ٦
37:6
Ahmed Ali
He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars,
Shakir
Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ہم نے نیچے کے آسمان کو (ف۵) تاروں کے سنگھار سے آراستہ کیا،
37:6 وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ ٧
37:7
Ahmed Ali
Protecting them against every wayward devil,
Shakir
And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور نگاہ رکھنے کو ہر شیطان سرکش سے (ف۶)
37:7 لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ ٨
37:8
Ahmed Ali
So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides
Shakir
They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side,
Ahmed Raza Khan
عالم بالا کی طرف کان نہیں لگاسکتے (ف۷) اور ان پر ہر طرف سے مار پھینک ہوتی ہے (ف۸)
37:8 دُحُورًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ ٩
37:9
Ahmed Ali
And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them,
Shakir
Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement,
Ahmed Raza Khan
انہیں بھگانے کو اور ان کے لیے (ف۹) ہمیشہ کا عذاب،
37:9 إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ ٠١
37:10
Ahmed Ali
Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame.
Shakir
Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame.
Ahmed Raza Khan
مگر جو ایک آدھ بار اُچک لے چلا (ف۱۰) تو روشن انگار اس کے پیچھے لگا، (ف۱۱)
37:10 فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ ١١
37:11
Ahmed Ali
So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay.
Shakir
Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ان سے پوچھو (ف۱۲) کیا ان کی پیدائش زیادہ مضبوط ہے یا ہماری اور مخلوق آسمانوں اور فرشتوں وغیرہ کی (ف۱۳) بیشک ہم نے ان کو چپکتی مٹی سے بنایا (ف۱۴)
37:11 بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ ٢١
37:12
Ahmed Ali
Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff;
Shakir
Nay! you wonder while they mock,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلکہ تمہیں اچنبھا آیا (ف۱۵) اور وہ ہنسی کرتے ہیں (ف۱۶)
37:12 وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ ٣١
37:13
Ahmed Ali
And when they are warned they pay no heed.
Shakir
And when they are reminded, they mind not,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور سمجھائے نہیں سمجھتے،
37:13 وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ ٤١
37:14
Ahmed Ali
When they see a sign, they laugh at it,
Shakir
And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جب کوئی نشانی دیکھتے ہیں (ف۱۷) ٹھٹھا کرتے ہیں،
37:14 وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ٥١
37:15
Ahmed Ali
And say: "This is only magic.
Shakir
And they say: This is nothing but clear magic:
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کہتے ہیں یہ تو نہیں مگر کھلا جادو،
37:15 أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ٦١
37:16
Ahmed Ali
When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again,
Shakir
What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا جب ہم مر کر مٹی اور ہڈیاں ہوجائیں گے کیا ہم ضرور اٹھائے جائیں گے،
37:16 أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ٧١
37:17
Ahmed Ali
And our fathers too?"
Shakir
Or our fathers of yore?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کیا ہمارے اگلے باپ دادا بھی (ف۱۸)
37:17 قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ ٨١
37:18
Ahmed Ali
You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made."
Shakir
Say: Aye! and you shall be abject.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم فرماؤ ہاں یوں کہ ذلیل ہو کے،
37:18 فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ ٩١
37:19
Ahmed Ali
There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape,
Shakir
So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو وہ (ف۱۹) تو ایک ہی جھڑک ہے (ف۲۰) جبھی وہ (ف۲۱) دیکھنے لگیں گے،
37:19 وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ ٠٢
37:20
Ahmed Ali
And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning."
Shakir
And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کہیں گے ہائے ہماری خرابی ان سے کہا جائے گا یہ انصاف کا دن ہے (ف۲۲)
37:20 هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ١٢
37:21
Ahmed Ali
"(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie."
Shakir
This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ ہے وہ فیصلے کا دن جسے تم جھٹلاتے تھے (ف۲۳)
37:21 ۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ ٢٢
37:22
Ahmed Ali
Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped
Shakir
Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہانکو ظالموں اور ان کے جوڑوں کو (ف۲۴) اور جو کچھ وہ پوجتے تھے،
37:22 مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ٣٢
37:23
Ahmed Ali
Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell,
Shakir
Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اللہ کے سوا، ان سب کو ہانکو راہِ دوزخ کی طرف،
37:23 وَقِفُوهُمْ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ ٤٢
37:24
Ahmed Ali
And detain them, for they will be questioned."
Shakir
And stop them, for they shall be questioned:

اور انہیں ٹھہراؤ (ف۲۵) ان سے پوچھنا ہے (ف۲۶)

"What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?"
Shakir
What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تمہیں کیا ہوا ایک دوسرے کی مدد کیوں نہیں کرتے (ف۲۷)
37:25 بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ ٦٢
37:26
Ahmed Ali
They will submit to questioning then,
Shakir
Nay! on that day they shall be submissive.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلکہ وہ آج گردن ڈالے ہیں (ف۲۸)
37:26 وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ٧٢
37:27
Ahmed Ali
And some of them will confront the others,
Shakir
And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان میں ایک نے دوسرے کی طرف منہ کیا آپس میں پوچھتے ہوئے،
37:27 قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ ٨٢
37:28
Ahmed Ali
Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us."
Shakir
They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بولے (ف۲۹) تم ہمارے دہنی طرف سے بہکانے آتے تھے (ف۳۰)
37:28 قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ ٩٢
37:29
Ahmed Ali
They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe.
Shakir
They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers;
Ahmed Raza Khan
جواب دیں گے تم خود ہی ایمان نہ رکھتے تھے (ف۳۱)
37:29 وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍۭ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَٰغِينَ ٠٣
37:30
Ahmed Ali
We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious.
Shakir
And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people;
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہمارا تم پر کچھ قابو نہ تھا (ف۳۲) بلکہ تم سرکش لوگ تھے،
37:30 فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ ١٣
37:31
Ahmed Ali
The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment),
Shakir
So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste;
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ثابت ہوگئی ہم پر ہمارے رب کی بات (ف۳۳) ہمیں ضرور چکھنا ہے (ف۳۴)
37:31 فَأَغْوَيْنَٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ ٢٣
37:32
Ahmed Ali
For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray."
Shakir
So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ہم نے تمہیں گمراہ کیا کہ ہم خود گمراہ تھے،
37:32 فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ ٣٣
37:33
Ahmed Ali
So, they will become partners in punishment.
Shakir
So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اس دن (ف۳۵) وہ سب کے سب عذاب میں شریک ہیں (ف۳۶)
37:33 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ٤٣
37:34
Ahmed Ali
That is how We deal with sinners.
Shakir
Surely thus do We deal with the guilty.
Ahmed Raza Khan
مجرموں کے ساتھ ہم ایسا ہی کرتے ہیں،
37:34 إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ٥٣
37:35
Ahmed Ali
They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence,
Shakir
Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah;
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک جب ان سے کہا جاتا تھا کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں تو اونچی کھینچتے (تکبر کرتے) تھے (ف۳۷)
37:35 وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ ٦٣
37:36
Ahmed Ali
And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?"
Shakir
And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کہتے تھے کیا ہم اپنے خداؤں کو چھوڑدیں ایک دیوانہ شاعر کے کہنے سے (ف۳۸)
37:36 بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ٧٣
37:37
Ahmed Ali
Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers.
Shakir
Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the messengers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلکہ وہ تو حق لائے ہیں اور انہوں نے رسولوں کی تصدیق فرمائی (ف۳۹)
37:37 إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ ٨٣
37:38
Ahmed Ali
You will indeed taste a painful punishment,
Shakir
Most surely you will taste the painful punishment.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک تمہیں ضرور دکھ کی مار چکھنی ہے،
37:38 وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٩٣
37:39
Ahmed Ali
And be rewarded but only for what you had done,
Shakir
And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو تمہیں بدلہ نہ ملے گا مگر اپنے کیے کا (ف۴۰)
37:39 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ٠٤
37:40
Ahmed Ali
Except the chosen creatures of God,
Shakir
Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones.
Ahmed Raza Khan
مگر جو اللہ کے چُنے ہوئے بندے ہیں (ف۴۱)
37:40 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ ١٤
37:41
Ahmed Ali
Whose provision is predetermined --
Shakir
For them is a known sustenance,
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان کے لیے وہ روزی ہے جو ہمارے علم میں ہیں،
37:41 فَوَٰكِهُ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ ٢٤
37:42
Ahmed Ali
Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured
Shakir
Fruits, and they shall be highly honored,
Ahmed Raza Khan
میوے (ف۴۲) اور ان کی عزت ہوگی،
37:42 فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٣٤
37:43
Ahmed Ali
In gardens of delight,
Shakir
In gardens of pleasure,
Ahmed Raza Khan
چین کے باغوں میں،
37:43 عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ ٤٤
37:44
Ahmed Ali
(Sitting) on couches, face to face,
Shakir
On thrones, facing each other.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تختوں پر ہوں گے آمنے سامنے (ف۴۳)
37:44 يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ ٥٤
37:45
Ahmed Ali
With cups from a flowing stream being passed around,
Shakir
A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs,
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان پر دورہ ہوگا نگاہ کے سامنے بہتی شراب کے جام کا (ف۴۴)
37:45 بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ ٦٤
37:46
Ahmed Ali
Clear, delicious to drink,
Shakir
White, delicious to those who drink.
Ahmed Raza Khan
سفید رنگ (ف۴۵) پینے والوں کے لیے لذت (ف۴۶)
37:46 لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ ٧٤
37:47
Ahmed Ali
Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating,
Shakir
There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith.
Ahmed Raza Khan
نہ اس میں خمار ہے (ف۴۷) اور نہ اس سے ان کا سَر پِھرے (ف۴۸)
37:47 وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ ٨٤
37:48
Ahmed Ali
And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes,
Shakir
And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes;
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان کے پاس ہیں جو شوہروں کے سوا دوسری طرف آنکھ اٹھا کر نہ دیکھیں گی (ف۴۹)
37:48 كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ ٩٤
37:49
Ahmed Ali
Like sheltered eggs in a nest.
Shakir
As if they were eggs carefully protected.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بڑی آنکھوں والیاں گویا وہ انڈے ہیں پوشیدہ رکھے ہوئے (ف۵۰)
37:49 فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ٠٥
37:50
Ahmed Ali
Then one turned to the other in an enquiry.
Shakir
Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ان میں (ف۵۱) ایک نے دوسرے کی طرف منہ کیا پوچھتے ہوئے (ف۵۲)
37:50 قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ ١٥
37:51
Ahmed Ali
Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend
Shakir
A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine,
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان میں سے کہنے والا بولا میرا ایک ہمنشین تھا (ف۵۳)
