الم،
3:1 ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ٢
3:2
Ahmed Ali
God: there is no god but He, the living, eternal, self-subsisting, ever sustaining.
Shakir
Allah, (there is) no god but He, the Everliving, the Self-subsisting by Whom all things subsist
Ahmed Raza Khan
اللہ ہے جس کے سوا کسی کی پوجا نہیں (ف۲) آپ زندہ اور ونکا قائم رکھنے والا،
3:2 نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ ٣
3:3
Ahmed Ali
He has verily revealed to you this Book, in truth and confirmation of the Books revealed before, as indeed He had revealed the Torah and the Gospel
Shakir
He has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying that which is before it, and He revealed the Tavrat and the Injeel aforetime, a guidance for the people, and He sent the Furqan.

اس نے تم پر یہ سچی کتاب اتاری اگلی کتابوں کی تصدیق فرماتی اور اس نے اس سے پہلے توریت اور انجیل اتاری،
3:3 مِن قَبْلُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ ٤
3:4
Ahmed Ali
Before this as guidance for men, and has sent the criterion (of falsehood and truth). As for those who deny the signs of God, the punishment is severe; for God is all powerful and great His requital.
Shakir
Surely they who disbelieve in the communications of Allah they shall have a severe chastisement; and Allah is Mighty, the Lord of retribution.
Ahmed Raza Khan
لوگوں کو راہ دکھاتی اور فیصلہ اتارا، بیشک وہ جو اللہ کی آیتوں سے منکر ہوئے (ف۳)ان کے لئے سخت عذاب ہے اور اللہ غالب بدلہ لینے والا ہے،
3:4 إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ٥
3:5
Ahmed Ali
There is nothing in the earth and the heavens that is hidden from God.
Shakir
Allah-- surely nothing is hidden from Him in the earth or in the heaven.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اللہ پر کچھ چھپا ہوا نہیں زمین میں نہ آسمان میں،
3:5 هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٦
3:6
Ahmed Ali
He shapes you in the womb of the mother as He wills. There is no god but He, the all-mighty and all-wise.
Shakir
He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He likes; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہی ہے کہ تمہاری تصویر بناتا ہے ماؤں کے پیٹ میں جیسی چاہے (ف۴) اس کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہیں عزت والا حکمت والا (ف۵)
3:6 هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ ٧
3:7
Ahmed Ali
He has sent down this Book which contains some verses that are categorical and basic to the Book, and others allegorical. But those who are twisted of mind look for verses metaphorical, seeking deviation and giving to them interpretations of their own; but none knows their meaning except God; and those who are steeped in knowledge affirm: "We believe in them as all of them are from the Lord." But only those who have wisdom understand.
Shakir
He it is Who has revealed the Book to you; some of its verses are decisive, they are the basis of the Book, and others are allegorical; then as for those in whose hearts there is perversity they follow the part of it which is allegorical, seeking to mislead and seeking to give it (their own) interpretation. but none knows its interpretation except Allah, and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge say: We believe in it, it is all from our Lord; and none do mind except those having understanding.

وہی ہے جس نے تم پر یہ کتاب اتاری اس کی کچھ آیتیں صاف معنی رکھتی ہیں (ف۶) وہ کتاب کی اصل ہیں (ف۷) اور دوسری وہ ہیں جن کے معنی میں اشتباہ ہے (ف۸) وہ جن کے دلوں میں کجی ہے (ف۹) وہ اشتباہ والی کے پیچھے پڑتے ہیں (ف۱۰) گمراہی چاہنے (ف۱۱) اور اس کا پہلو ڈھونڈنے کو (ف۱۲) اور اس کا ٹھیک پہلو اللہ ہی کو معلوم ہے (ف۱۳) اور پختہ علم والے (ف۱۴) کہتے ہیں ہم اس پر ایمان لائے (ف۱۵) سب ہمارے رب کے پاس سے ہے (ف۱۶) اور نصیحت نہیں مانتے مگر عقل والے (ف۱۷)
3:7 رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ ٨
3:8
Ahmed Ali
"Let us not go astray, O Lord, having guided us already. Bestow on us Your blessings for You are the benevolent.
Shakir
Our Lord! make not our hearts to deviate after Thou hast guided us aright, and grant us from Thee mercy; surely Thou art the most liberal Giver.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے رب ہمارے دل ٹیڑھے نہ کر بعد اس کے کہ تو نے ہمیں ہدایت دی اور ہمیں اپنے پاس سے رحمت عطا کر بیشک تو ہے بڑا دینے والا،
3:8 رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ ٩
3:9
Ahmed Ali
You will gather mankind together, O Lord, on a day that is certain to come, and God does not fail in His promise.
Shakir
Our Lord! surely Thou art the Gatherer of men on a day about which there is no doubt; surely Allah will not fail (His) promise.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے رب ہمارے بیشک تو سب لوگوں کو جمع کرنے والا ہے (ف۱۸) اس دن کے لئے جس میں کوئی شبہ نہیں (ف۱۹) بیشک اللہ کا وعدہ نہیں بدلتا (ف۲۰)

عَنْهُمْ
أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ
وَلَآ
أَوْلَٰدُهُم
مِّنَ
ٱللَّهِ

وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
هُمْ
وَقُودُ
ٱلنَّارِ

Ahmed Ali
As for those who deny, neither their wealth nor their children will help them in the least against God. They shall be but faggots for (the fire of) Hell,
Shakir
(As for) those who disbelieve, surely neither their wealth nor their children shall avail them in the least against Allah, and these it is who are the fuel of the fire.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک وہ جو کافر ہوئے (ف۲۱) ان کے مال اور ان کی اولاد اللہ سے انہیں کچھ نہ بچاسکیں گے اور وہی دوزخ کے ایندھن ہیں،
3:10 كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ١١
3:11
Ahmed Ali
Like the people of the Pharaoh, and those before them, who rejected Our signs, and were punished for their sins by God; and the punishment of God is severe.
Shakir
Like the striving of the people of Firon and those before them; they rejected Our communications, so Allah destroyed them on account of their faults; and Allah is severe in requiting (evil).
Ahmed Raza Khan
جیسے فرعون والوں اور ان سے اگلوں کا طریقہ، انہوں نے ہماری آیتیں جھٹلائیں تو اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں پر ان کو پکڑا اور اللہ کا عذاب سخت،
3:11 قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ ٢١
3:12
Ahmed Ali
So tell the disbelievers: "You will surely be subdued and driven to Hell: How bad a preparation!"
Shakir
Say to those who disbelieve: You shall be vanquished, and driven together to hell; and evil is the resting-place.
Ahmed Raza Khan
فرمادو، کافروں سے کوئی دم جاتا ہے کہ تم مغلوب ہوگے اور دوزخ کی طرف ہانکے جاؤ گے (ف۲۲) اور وہ بہت ہی برا بچھونا،
3:12 قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا فِئَةٌ تُقَٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ ٣١
3:13
Ahmed Ali
There was a token for you in the two armies which clashed (in the battle of Badr), one fighting for God, the other of unbelievers who saw with their own eyes the faithful to be two times as many as they, for God reinforces with His help whomsoever He will. In this is a lesson for those who have eyes.
Shakir
Indeed there was a sign for you in the two hosts (which) met together in encounter; one party fighting in the way of Allah and the other unbelieving, whom they saw twice as many as themselves with the sight of the eye and Allah strengthens with His aid whom He pleases; most surely there is a lesson in this for those who have sight.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک تمہارے لئے نشانی تھی (ف۲۳) دو گروہوں میں جو آپس میں بھڑ پڑے (ف۲۴) ایک جتھا اللہ کی راہ میں لڑتا (ف۲۵) اور دوسرا کافر (ف۲۶) کہ انہیں آنکھوں دیکھا اپنے سے دونا سمجھیں، اور اللہ اپنی مدد سے زور دیتا ہے جسے چاہتا ہے (ف۲۷) بیشک اس میں عقلمندوں کے لئے ضرور دیکھ کر سیکھنا ہے،
3:13 زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْبَنِينَ وَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِ ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلْخَيْلِ ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَٱلْحَرْثِ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلْمَـَٔابِ ٤١
3:14
Ahmed Ali
Enamoured are the people of the lust of (earthly) pleasures, of women and of children and hoarded heaps of gold and silver, well-bred horses, and tilled land and cattle, all (vain) goods and chattels of the life of this world, while the best of abodes is with God.
Shakir
The love of desires, of women and sons and hoarded treasures of gold and silver and well bred horses and cattle and tilth, is made to seem fair to men; this is the provision of the life of this world; and Allah is He with Whom is the good goal (of life).
Ahmed Raza Khan
لوگوں کے لئے آراستہ کی گئی ان خواہشوں کی محبت (ف۲۸) عورتوں اور بیٹے اور تلے اوپر سونے چاندے کے ڈھیر اور نشان کئے ہوئے گھوڑے اور چوپائے اور کھیتی یہ جیتی دنیا کی پونجی ہے (ف۲۹) اور اللہ ہے جس کے پاس اچھا ٹھکانا (ف۳۰)
3:14 ۞ قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ ٥١
3:15
Ahmed Ali
Say: "Shall I tell you of (things) even better? With the Lord are gardens with running streams of water for those who keep from evil and follow the straight path, where they will live unchanged with the purest of companions and blessings of God." And under God´s eyes are devotees who say:
Shakir
Say:Shall}I tell you what is better than these? For those who guard (against evil) are gardens with their Lord, beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them, and pure mates and Allah´s pleasure; and Allah sees the servants.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تم فرماؤ کیا میں تمہیں اس سے (ف۳۱) بہتر چیز بتادوں پرہیزگاروں کے لئے ان کے رب کے پاس جنتیں ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں ہمیشہ ان میں رہیں گے اور ستھری بیبیاں (ف۳۲) اور اللہ کی خوشنودی (ف۳۳) اور اللہ بندوں کو دیکھتا ہے (ف۳۴)
