Ahmed Ali
He who has assigned (the propagation) of the Qur´an to you will bring you back to the destination. Say: "My Lord knows who has come to guidance, and who is clearly in error."
Shakir
Most surely He Who has made the Quran binding on you will bring you back to the destination. Say: My Lord knows best him who has brought the guidance and him who is in manifest error.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک جس نے تم پر قرآن فرض کیا (ف۲۱۴) وہ تمہیں پھیر لے جائے گا جہاں پھرنا چاہتے ہو (ف۲۱۵) تم فرماؤ، میرا رب خوب جانتا ہے اسے جو ہدایت لایا اور جو کھلی گمراہی میں ہے (ف۲۱۶)
28:85 وَمَا كُنتَ تَرْجُوٓا۟ أَن يُلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ ٦٨
28:86
Ahmed Ali
You did not expect that the Book would be given to you except by the favour of your Lord. So do not be the helper of unbelievers,
Shakir
And you did not expect that the Book would be inspired to you, but it is a mercy from your Lord, therefore be not a backer-up of the unbelievers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور تم امید نہ رکھتے تھے کہ کتاب تم پر بھیجی جائے گی (ف۲۱۷) ہاں تمہارے رب نے رحمت فرمائی تو تم ہرگز کافروں کی پشتی (مدد) نہ کرنا (ف۲۱۸)
28:86 وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أُنزِلَتْ إِلَيْكَ وَٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ٧٨
28:87
Ahmed Ali
Nor should you let them turn you away from the commandments of God once they have been delivered to you; and call them to your Lord, and do not be an idolater,
Shakir
And let them not turn you aside from the communications of Allah after they have been revealed to you, and call (men) to your Lord and be not of the polytheists.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہرگز وہ تمہیں اللہ کی آیتوں سے نہ روکیں بعد اس کے کہ وہ تمہاری طرف اتاری گئیں (ف۲۱۹) اور اپنے رب کی طرف بلاؤ (ف۲۲۰) اور ہرگز شرک والوں میں سے نہ ہونا (ف۲۲۱)
28:87 وَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ كُلُّ شَىْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُۥ لَهُ ٱلْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ٨٨
28:88
Ahmed Ali
And do not call on any other god apart from God. There is no god but He. All things will perish save His magnificence. His is the judgement, and to Him will you be brought back in the end.
Shakir
And call not with Allah any other god; there is no god but He, every thing is perishable but He; His is the judgment, and to Him you shall be brought back.

اور اللہ کے ساتھ دوسرے خدا کو نہ پوج اس کے سوا کوئی خدا نہیں ہر چیز فانی ہے، سوا اس کی ذات کے، اسی کا حکم ہے اور اسی کی طرف پھر جاؤ گے،

29:1 أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ ٢
29:2
Ahmed Ali
Do men think they will get away by saying: "We believe," and will not be tried?
Shakir
Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, We believe, and not be tried?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا لوگ اس گھمنڈ میں ہیں کہ اتنی بات پر چھوڑ دیے جائیں گے کہ کہیں ہم ایمان لائے، اور ان کی آزمائش نہ ہوگی (ف۲)
29:2 وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ ٣
29:3
Ahmed Ali
We had tried those who were before them so that God knew who spoke the truth, and who were liars.
Shakir
And certainly We tried those before them, so Allah will certainly know those who are true and He will certainly know the liars.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ہم نے ان سے اگلوں کو جانچا (ف۳) تو ضرور اللہ سچوں کو دیکھے گا اور ضرور جھوٹوں کو دیکھے گا (ف۴)
29:3 أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ ٤
29:4
Ahmed Ali
Do those who do evil think that they will get the better of Us? How bad is the judgement that they make!
Shakir
Or do they who work evil think that they will escape Us? Evil is it that they judge!
Ahmed Raza Khan
یا یہ سمجھے ہوئے ہیں وہ جو برے کام کرتے ہیں (ف۵) کہ ہم سے کہیں نکل جائیں گے (ف۶) کیا ہی برا حکم لگاتے ہیں،
29:4 مَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ لِقَآءَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ لَءَاتٍ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٥
29:5
Ahmed Ali
He who hopes to meet God (should know) that God´s appointed time will surely come. He is all-hearing and all-knowing.
Shakir
Whoever hopes to meet Allah, the term appointed by Allah will then most surely come; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جسے اللہ سے ملنے کی امید ہو (ف۷) تو بیشک اللہ کی میعاد ضرور آنے والی ہے (ف۸) اور وہی سنتا جانتا ہے (ف۹)
29:5 وَمَن جَٰهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَٰهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٦
29:6
Ahmed Ali
He who strives does so for himself. Verily God is independent of the creatures of the world.
Shakir
And whoever strives hard, he strives only for his own soul; most surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above (need of) the worlds.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جو اللہ کی راہ میں کوشش کرے (ف۱۰) تو اپنے ہی بھلے کو کوشش کرتا ہے (ف۱۱) بیشک اللہ بے پرواہ ہے سارے جہان سے (ف۱۲)

ءَامَنُوا۟
وَعَمِلُوا۟
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ
عَنْهُمْ
سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ
وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ
أَحْسَنَ
ٱلَّذِى
كَانُوا۟
يَعْمَلُونَ

Ahmed Ali
We shall pardon the sinful deeds of those who believe and do the right, and give them a reward better than their deeds.
Shakir
And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most certainly do away with their evil deeds and We will most certainly reward them the best of what they did.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے ہم ضرور ان کی برائیاں اتار دیں گے (ف۱۳) اور ضرور انہیں اس کام پر بدلہ دیں گے جو ان کے سب کاموں میں اچھا تھا (ف۱۴)
29:7 وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَآ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٨
29:8
Ahmed Ali
We have enjoined on man to be good to his parents; but if they try to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. You have to come back to Us, when I will tell you what you used to do.
Shakir
And We have enjoined on man goodness to his parents, and if they contend with you that you should associate (others) with Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them, to Me is your return, so I will inform you of what you did.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے آدمی کو تاکید کی اپنے ماں باپ کے ساتھ بھلائی کی (ف۱۵) اور اگر تو وہ تجھ سے کوشش کریں کہ تو میرا شریک ٹھہرائے جس کا تجھے علم نہیں تو تُو ان کا کہا نہ مان (ف۱۶) میری ہی طرف تمہارا پھرنا ہے تو میں بتادوں گا تمہیں جو تم کرتے تھے (ف۱۷)
29:8 وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ٩
29:9
Ahmed Ali
We shall admit those who believe and do the right among the righteous.
Shakir
And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most surely cause them to enter among the good.

اور جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے ضرور ہم انہیں نیکوں میں شامل کریں گے (ف۱۸)
29:9 وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِىَ فِى ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ أَوَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِى صُدُورِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٠١
29:10
Ahmed Ali
There are among men those who say: "We believe in God;" yet if they happen to suffer in the cause of God they take oppression by men as punishment from God. And if help comes to them from your Lord, they say: "We were with you." Does not God know what is hidden in the hearts of men?
Shakir
And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind.

اور بعض آدمی کہتے ہیں ہم اللہ پر ایمان لائے پھر جب اللہ کی راہ میں انہیں کوئی تکلیف دی جاتی ہے (ف۱۹) تو لوگوں کے فتنہ کو اللہ کے عذاب کے برابر سمجھتے ہیں (ف۲۰) اور اگر تمہارے رب کے پاس سے مدد آئے (ف۲۱) تو ضرور کہیں گے ہم تو تمہارے ہی ساتھ تھے (ف۲۲) کیا اللہ خوب نہیں جانتا جو کچھ جہاں بھر کے دلوں میں ہے (ف۲۳)
29:10 وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ ١١
29:11
Ahmed Ali
God will surely know the believers and know the hypocrites.
Shakir
And most certainly Allah will know those who believe and most certainly He will know the hypocrites.

اور ضرور اللہ ظاہر کردے گا ایمان والوں کو (ف۲۴) اور ضرور ظاہر کردے گا منافقوں کو (ف۲۵)
29:11 وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَٰيَٰكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَٰمِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَٰيَٰهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ ٢١
29:12
Ahmed Ali
Those who deny say to those who affirm: "Follow our way; we shall carry the burden of your sins." But they cannot carry the burden of their sins in the least. They are liars indeed.
Shakir
And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Follow our path and we will bear your wrongs. And never shall they be the bearers of any of their wrongs; most surely they are liars.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کافر مسلمانوں سے بولے ہماری راہ پر چلو اور ہم تمہارے گناہ اٹھالیں گے (ف۲۶) حالانکہ وہ ان کے گناہوں میں سے کچھ نہ اٹھائیں گے، بیشک وہ جھوٹے ہیں،
29:12 وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ وَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ ٣١
29:13
Ahmed Ali
They will carry their own loads and other loads besides their own; and will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they contrived.
Shakir
And most certainly they shall carry their own burdens, and other burdens with their own burdens, and most certainly they shall be questioned on the resurrection day as to what they forged.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ضرور اپنے (ف۲۷) بوجھ اٹھائیں گے اور اپنے بوجھوں کے ساتھ اور بوجھ (ف۲۸) اور ضرور قیامت کے دن پوچھے جائیں گے جو کچھ بہتان اٹھاتے تھے (ف۲۹)
29:13 وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ ٤١
29:14
Ahmed Ali
We sent Noah to his people, and he lived with them a thousand years minus fifty. Then they were caught by the deluge for they were evil.
Shakir
And certainly We sent Nuh to his people, so he remained among them a thousand years save fifty years. And the deluge overtook them, while they were unjust.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ہم نے نوح کو اس کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا تو وہ ان میں پچاس سال کم ہزار برس رہا (ف۳۰) تو انہیں طوفان نے ا ٓ لیا اور وہ ظالم تھے (ف۳۱)
