سورة الأنبياء
21:1
Ahmed Ali
NEAR HAS COME the reckoning for men, but they turn away in remissness.
Shakir
Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside.
Ahmed Raza Khan
لوگوں کا حساب نزدیک اور وہ غفلت میں منہ پھیرے ہیں (ف۲)
21:1 مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ ٢
21:2
Ahmed Ali
Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance.
Shakir
There comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they sport,
Ahmed Raza Khan
جب ان کے رب کے پاس سے انہیں کوئی نئی نصیحت آتی ہے تو اسے نہیں سنتے مگر کھیلتے ہوئے، (ف۳)
21:2 لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ ٣
21:3
Ahmed Ali
Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?"
Shakir
Their hearts trifling; and those who are unjust counsel together in secret: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves; what! will you then yield to enchantment while you see?
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان کے دل کھیل میں پڑے ہیں (ف۴) اور ظالموں نے آپس میں خفیہ مشورت کی (ف۵) کہ یہ کون ہیں ایک تم ہی جیسے آدمی تو ہیں (ف۶) کیا جادو کے پاس جاتے ہو دیکھ بھال کر،
21:3 قَالَ رَبِّى يَعْلَمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٤
21:4
Ahmed Ali
He said: "My Lord knows whatever is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He hears all and knows everything."
Shakir
He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Ahmed Raza Khan
نبی نے فرمایا میرا رب جانتا ہے آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہر بات کو، اور وہی ہے سنتا جانتا (ف۷)
21:4 بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَضْغَٰثُ أَحْلَٰمٍۭ بَلِ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِـَٔايَةٍ كَمَآ أُرْسِلَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ٥
21:5
Ahmed Ali
Yet they say: "These are only confused dreams," or rather: "He has invented them;" or: "He is only a poet. Let him therefore bring a miracle to us as the earlier (apostles) were sent with."
Shakir
Nay! say they: Medleys of dreams; nay! he has forged it; nay! he is a poet; so let him bring to us a sign as the former (prophets) were sent (with).
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلکہ بولے پریشان خوابیں ہیں (ف۸) بلکہ ان کی گڑھت (گھڑی ہوئی چیز) ہے (ف۹) بلکہ یہ شاعر ہیں (ف۱۰) تو ہمارے پاس کوئی نشانی لائیں جیسے اگلے بھیجے گئے تھے (ف۱۱)
21:5 مَآ ءَامَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَآ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ ٦
21:6
Ahmed Ali
Not one habitation that We destroyed before them had believed. So how can they believe?
Shakir
There did not believe before them any town which We destroyed, will they then believe?
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان سے پہلے کوئی بستی ایمان نہ لائی جسے ہم نے ہلاک کیا، تو کیا یہ ایمان لائیں گے (ف۱۲)
21:6 وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٧
21:7
Ahmed Ali
Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God.
Shakir
And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation, so ask the followers of the reminder if you do not
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے تم سے پہلے نہ بھیجے مگر مرد جنہیں ہم وحی کرتے (ف۱۳) تو اے لوگو! علم والوں سے پوچھو اگر تمہیں علم نہ ہو (ف۱۴)
21:7 وَمَا جَعَلْنَٰهُمْ جَسَدًا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ خَٰلِدِينَ ٨
21:8
Ahmed Ali
We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal.
Shakir
And We did not make them bodies not eating the food, and they were not to abide (forever).
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے انہیں (ف۱۵) خالی بدن نہ بنایا کہ کھانا نہ کھائیں (ف۱۶) اور نہ وہ دنیا میں ہمیشہ رہیں،
21:8 ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْوَعْدَ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُمْ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ وَأَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ٩
21:9
Ahmed Ali
Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors.
Shakir
Then We made Our promise good to them, so We delivered them and those whom We pleased, and We destroyed the ex
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر ہم نے اپنا وعدہ انہیں سچا کر دکھایا (ف۱۷) تو انہیں نجات دی اور جن کو چاہی (ف۱۸) اور حد سے بڑھنے والوں کو (ف۱۹) ہلاک کردیا
21:9 لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَٰبًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ٠١
21:10
Ahmed Ali
We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand?
Shakir
Certainly We have revealed to you a Book in which is your good remembrance; what! do you not then understand?
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم سے تمہاری طرف (ف۲۰) ایک کتاب اتاری جس میں تمہاری ناموری ہے (ف۲۱) تو کیا تمہیں عقل نہیں (ف۲۲)

Ahmed Ali
How many habitations that were sinful have We demolished utterly, and raised other people after them.
Shakir
And how many a town which was iniquitous did We demolish, and We raised up after it another people!
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کتنی ہی بستیاں ہم نے تباہ کردیں کہ وہ ستمگار تھیں (ف۲۳) اور ان کے بعد اور قوم پیدا کی،
21:11 فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّوا۟ بَأْسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ ٢١
21:12
Ahmed Ali
Whensoever they sensed Our punishment they fled from them.
Shakir
So when they felt Our punishment, lo! they began to fly
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو جب انہوں نے (ف۲۴) ہمارا عذاب پایا جبھی وہ اس سے بھاگنے لگے (ف۲۵)
21:12 لَا تَرْكُضُوا۟ وَٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَٰكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْـَٔلُونَ ٣١
21:13
Ahmed Ali
"Do not flee; go back to your halls of pleasure and your habitations, so that you may be interrogated."
Shakir
Do not fly (now) and come back to what you were made to lead easy lives in and to your dwellings, haply you will be questioned.
Ahmed Raza Khan
نہ بھاگو اور لوٹ کے جاؤ ان آسائشوں کی طرف جو تم کو دی گئیں تھیں اور اپنے مکانوں کی طرف شاید تم سے پوچھنا ہو (ف۲۶)
21:13 قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ ٤١
21:14
Ahmed Ali
"Woe, alas," they said, "we were really sinful."
Shakir
They said: O woe to us! surely we were unjust.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بولے ہائے خرابی ہماری بیشک ہم ظالم تھے (ف۲۷)
21:14 فَمَا زَالَت تِّلْكَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَٰهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَٰمِدِينَ ٥١
21:15
Ahmed Ali
And this remained their lament till We mowed them down and made them extinct.
Shakir
And this ceased not to be their cry till We made them cut
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو وہ یہی پکارتے رہے یہاں تک کہ ہم نے انہیں کردیا کاٹے ہوئے (ف۲۸) بجھے ہوئے،
21:15 وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ ٦١
21:16
Ahmed Ali
We have not created the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, out of fun.
Shakir
And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them for sport.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے آسمان اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے عبث نہ بنائے (ف۲۹)
21:16 لَوْ أَرَدْنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَّٱتَّخَذْنَٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ إِن كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ ٧١
21:17
Ahmed Ali
If We had pleased to make a plaything We could have made it Ourself, if We had cared to do so.
Shakir
Had We wished to make a diversion, We would have made it from before Ourselves: by no means would We do (it).
Ahmed Raza Khan
اگر ہم کوئی بہلاوا اختیار کرنا چاہتے (ف۳۰) تو اپنے پاس سے اختیار کرتے اگر ہمیں کرنا ہوتا (ف۳۱)
21:17 بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِٱلْحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلْبَٰطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ ٨١
21:18
Ahmed Ali
In fact We strike the truth against the false, which shatters it, and it disappears. Woe to you for what you attribute (to Him)!
Shakir
Nay! We cast the truth against the falsehood, so that it breaks its head, and lo! it vanishes; and woe to you for what you describe;
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلکہ ہم حق کو باطل پر پھینک مارتے ہیں تو وہ اس کا بھیجہ نکال دیتا ہے تو جبھی وہ مٹ کر رہ جاتا ہے (ف۳۲) اور تمہاری خرابی ہے (ف۳۳) ان باتوں سے جو بناتے ہو (ف۳۴)
21:18 وَلَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ ٩١
21:19
Ahmed Ali
Whosoever is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him; and those who are near Him do not disdain to worship Him or weary (of His service),
Shakir
And whoever is in the heavens and the earth is His; and those who are with Him are not proud to serve Him, nor do they grow weary.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اسی کے ہیں جتنے آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہیں (ف۳۵) اور اس کے پاس والے (ف۳۶) اس کی عبادت سے تکبر نہیں کرتے اور نہ تھکیں،
21:19 يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ ٠٢
21:20
Ahmed Ali
Nor cease to endeavour praising Him night and day.
Shakir
They glorify (Him) by night and day; they are never languid.
Ahmed Raza Khan
رات دن اس کی پاکی بولتے ہیں اور سستی نہیں کرتے،
21:20 أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَةً مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنشِرُونَ ١٢
21:21
Ahmed Ali
Or have they taken gods from the earth who can raise the dead?
Shakir
Or have they taken gods from the earth who raise (the dead).
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا انہوں نے زمین میں سے کچھ ایسے خدا بنالیے ہیں (ف۳۸) کہ وہ کچھ پیدا کرتے ہیں (ف۳۹)
21:21 لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَآ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا فَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ٢٢
21:22
Ahmed Ali
Had there been gods apart from God, both (the heavens and the earth) would have been despoiled. Much too glorious is God, the Lord of the mighty throne, for things they assert!
Shakir
If there had been in them any gods except Allah, they would both have certainly been in a state of disorder; therefore glory be to Allah, the Lord of the dominion, above what they attribute (to Him).
Ahmed Raza Khan
اگر آسمان و زمین میں اللہ کے سوا اور خدا ہوتے تو ضرور وہ (ف۴۰) تباہ ہوجاتے (ف۴۱) تو پاکی ہے اللہ عرش کے مالک کو ان باتوں سے جو یہ بناتے ہیں (ف۴۲)
21:22 لَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْـَٔلُونَ ٣٢
21:23
Ahmed Ali
He cannot be questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.
Shakir
He cannot be questioned concerning what He does and they shall be questioned.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس سے نہیں پوچھا جاتا جو وہ کرے (ف۴۳) اور ان سب سے سوال ہوگا (ف۴۴)
21:23 أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ هَٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَن مَّعِىَ وَذِكْرُ مَن قَبْلِى بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ فَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ ٤٢
21:24
Ahmed Ali
Have they taken gods besides God? Say: "Then bring your proof. Here is the Book of those who are with me, and the Book of those who have gone before me." But most men do not know the truth and turn away.
Shakir
Or, have they taken gods besides Him? Say: Bring your proof; this is the reminder of those with me and the reminder of those before me. Nay! most of them do not know the truth, so they turn aside.
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا اللہ کے سوا اور خدا بنا رکھے ہیں، تم فرماؤ (ف۴۵) اپنی دلیل لاؤ (ف۴۶) یہ قرآن میرے ساتھ والوں کا ذکر ہے (ف۴۷) اور مجھ سے اگلوں کا تذکرہ (ف۴۸) بلکہ ان میں اکثر حق کو نہیں جانتے تو وہ رو گرداں، ہیں (ف۴۹)
