2:1

In the name of of Allah the Merciful. Alif Lam Mim

Alif Lam Mim.

الم (ف۲)
2:1 ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ٢
2:2
Ahmed Ali
This is The Book free of doubt and involution, a guidance for those who preserve themselves from evil and follow the straight path,
Shakir
This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil).
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ بلند رتبہ کتاب (قرآن) کوئی شک کی جگہ نہیں، (ف ۳) اس میں ہدایت ہے ڈر والوں کو (ف۴)
2:2 ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ ٣
2:3
Ahmed Ali
Who believe in the Unknown and fulfil their devotional obligations, and spend in charity of what We have given them;
Shakir
Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ جو بے دیکھے ایمان لائیں (ف۵) اور نماز قائم رکھیں (ف۶) اور ہماری دی ہوئی روزی میں سے ہماری میں اٹھائیں- (ف۷)
2:3 وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ ٤
2:4
Ahmed Ali
Who believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed to those before you, and are certain of the Hereafter.
Shakir
And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور وہ کہ ایمان لائیں اس پر جو اے محبوب تمہاری طرف اترا اور جو تم سے پہلے اترا(ف۸) اور آخرت پر یقین رکھیں، (ف۹)
2:4 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ ٥
2:5
Ahmed Ali
They have found the guidance of their Lord and will be successful.
Shakir
These are on a right course from their Lord and these it is that shall be successful.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہی لوگ اپنے رب کی طرف سے ہدایت پر ہیں اور وہی مراد کو پہنچنے والے۔

Ahmed Ali
As for those who deny, it is all the same if you warn them or not, they will not believe.
Shakir
Surely those who disbelieve, it being alike to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them, will not believe.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک وہ جن کی قسمت میں کفر ہے (ف۱۰) ا نہیں برابر ہے، چاہے تم انہیں ڈراؤ، یا نہ ڈراؤ، وہ ایمان لانے کے نہیں۔
2:6 خَتَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰٓ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ غِشَٰوَةٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ٧
2:7
Ahmed Ali
God has sealed their hearts and ears, and veiled their eyes. For them is great deprivation.
Shakir
Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing and there is a covering over their eyes, and there is a great punishment for them.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اللہ نے ان کے دلوں پر اور کانوں پر مہر کردی اور ان کی آنکھوں پر گھٹاٹوپ ہے، (ف۱۱) اور ان کے لئے بڑا عذاب،
2:7 وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ ٨
2:8
Ahmed Ali
And there are some who, though they say: "We believe in God and the Last Day," (in reality) do not believe.
Shakir
And there are some people who say: We believe in Allah and the last day; and they are not at all believers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور کچھ لوگ کہتے ہیں (ف۱۲) کہ ہم اللہ اور پچھلے دن پر ایمان لائے اور وہ ایمان والے نہیں،
2:8 يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ ٩
2:9
Ahmed Ali
They (try to) deceive God and those who believe, yet deceive none but themselves although they do not know.
Shakir
They desire to deceive Allah and those who believe, and they deceive only themselves and they do not perceive.
Ahmed Raza Khan
فریب دیا چاہتے ہیں اللہ اور ایمان والوں کو (ف۱۳) اور حقیقت میں فریب نہیں دیتے مگر اپنی جانوں کو اور انہیں شعور نہیں۔
2:9 فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ ٠١
2:10
Ahmed Ali
Sick are their hearts, and God adds to their malady. For them is suffering for they lie.
Shakir
There is a disease in their hearts, so Allah added to their disease and they shall have a painful chastisement because they
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے (ف۱۴) تو اللہ نے ان کی بیماری اور بڑھائی اور ان کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہے، بدلا ان کے جھوٹ کا -(ف۱۵)
2:10 وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ ١١
2:11
Ahmed Ali
When asked to desist from spreading corruption in the land they say: "Why, we are reformers."
Shakir
And when it is said to them, Do not make mischief in the land, they say: We are but peace-makers.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اوران سے کہا جائے زمین میں فساد نہ کرو، (ف۱۶) تو کہتے ہیں ہم تو سنوارنے والے ہیں،
2:11 أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ ٢١
2:12
Ahmed Ali
Yet they are surely mischief-mongers, even though they do not know.
Shakir
Now surely they themselves are the mischief makers, but they do not perceive.
Ahmed Raza Khan
سنتا ہے وہی فسادی ہیں مگر انہیں شعور نہیں،
2:12 وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ ءَامِنُوا۟ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلنَّاسُ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ ٣١
2:13
Ahmed Ali
When asked to believe as others do, they say: "Should we believe like fools?" And yet they are the fools, even though they do not know.
Shakir
And when it is said to them: Believe as the people believe they say: Shall we believe as the fools believe? Now surely they themselves are the fools, but they do not know.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جب ان سے کہا جائے ایمان لاؤ جیسے اور لوگ ایمان لائے(ف۱۷) تو کہیں کیا ہم احمقوں کی طرح ایمان لے آئیں (ف۱۸) سنتا ہے وہی احمق ہیں مگر جانتے نہیں - (ف۱۹)
2:13 وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٤١
2:14
Ahmed Ali
When they meet the faithful they say: "We believe;" but when alone with the devils (their fellows), they say: "We are really with you; we were joking."
Shakir
And when they meet those who believe, they say: We believe; and when they are alone with their Shaitans, they say: Surely we are with you, we were only mocking.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جب ایمان والوں سے ملیں تو کہیں ہم ایمان لائے اور جب اپنے شیطانوں کے پاس اکیلے ہوں (ف۲۰) تو کہیں ہم تمہارے ساتھ ہیں، ہم تو یونہی ہنسی کرتے ہیں- (ف۲۱)
2:14 ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ وَيَمُدُّهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ ٥١
2:15
Ahmed Ali
But God will turn the joke against them and allow them to sink deeper into evil and wander perplexed in their wickedness.
Shakir
Allah shall pay them back their mockery, and He leaves them alone in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اللہ ان سے استہزاء فرماتا ہے (ف۲۲) (جیسا کہ اس کی شان کے لائق ہے) اور انہیں ڈھیل دیتا ہے کہ اپنی سرکشی میں بھٹکتے رہیں۔
2:15 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَٰرَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ ٦١
2:16
Ahmed Ali
They are indeed those who bartered away good guidance for error and gained nothing from the deal, nor found the right way.
Shakir
These are they who buy error for the right direction, so their bargain shall bring no gain, nor are they the followers of the right direction.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ لوگ جنہوں نے ہدایت کے بدلے گمراہی خریدی (ف۲۳) تو ان کا سودا کچھ نفع نہ لایا اور وہ سودے کی راہ جانتے ہی نہ تھے -(ف۲۴)
