Ahmed Ali
He will say: "Alas the woe! Would that I had sent ahead something in my life."
Shakir
He shall say: O! would that I had sent before for (this) my life!
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہے گا ہائے کسی طرح میں نے جیتے جی نیکی آگے بھیجی ہوتی،
89:24 فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ ٥٢
89:25
Ahmed Ali
None can punish as He will punish on that day,
Shakir
But on that day shall no one chastise with (anything like) His chastisement,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اس دن اس کا سا عذاب (ف۲۳) کوئی نہیں کرتا،
89:25 وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ ٦٢
89:26
Ahmed Ali
And none can bind as He will bind.
Shakir
And no one shall bind with (anything like) His binding.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اس کا سا باندھنا کوئی نہیں باندھتا،
89:26 يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ٧٢
89:27
Ahmed Ali
O you tranquil soul,
Shakir
O soul that art at rest!
Ahmed Raza Khan
اے اطمینان والی جان (ف۲۴)
89:27 ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً ٨٢
89:28
Ahmed Ali
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him.
Shakir
Return to your Lord, well-pleased (with him), well-pleasing (Him),

اپنے رب کی طرف واپس ہو یوں کہ تو اس سے راضی وہ تجھ سے راضی،
89:28 فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَٰدِى ٩٢
89:29
Ahmed Ali
"Enter then among My votaries,

So enter among My servants,
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر میرے خاص بندوں میں داخل ہو،
89:29 وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى ٠٣
89:30
Ahmed Ali
Enter then My garden."
Shakir
And enter into My garden.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور میری جنت میں آ،
89:30 سورة البلد
90:1
Ahmed Ali
I CALL THIS earth to witness --
Shakir
Nay! I swear by this city.
Ahmed Raza Khan
مجھے اس شہر کی قسم (ف۲)
90:1 وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٢
90:2
Ahmed Ali
And you are free to live upon it, --
Shakir
And you shall be made free from obligation in this city--

کہ اے محبوب! تم اس شہر میں تشریف فرما ہو (ف۳)
90:2 وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ ٣
90:3
Ahmed Ali
And the parent and the offspring,
Shakir
And the begetter and whom he begot.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور تمہارے باپ ابراہیم کی قسم اور اس کی اولاد کی کہ تم ہو (ف۴)
90:3 لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ ٤
90:4
Ahmed Ali
That We created man in toil and trouble.
Shakir
Certainly We have created man to be in distress.

بیشک ہم نے آدمی کو مشقت میں رہتا پیدا کیا (ف۵)
90:4 أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ ٥
90:5

Does he think that no one has power over him?
Shakir
Does he think that no one has power over him?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا آدمی یہ سمجھتا ہے کہ ہرگز اس پر کوئی قدرت نہیں پائے گا (ف۶)
90:5 يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا ٦
90:6
Ahmed Ali
He says: "I have wasted a great deal of wealth."
Shakir
He shall say: I have wasted much wealth.
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہتا ہے میں نے ڈھیروں مال فنا کردیا (ف۷)
90:6 أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ ٧
90:7
Ahmed Ali
Does he think that no one sees him?
Shakir
Does he think that no one sees him?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا آدمی یہ سمجھتا ہے کہ اسے کسی نے نہ دیکھا (ف۸)
90:7 أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ ٨
90:8
Ahmed Ali
Did We not give him two eyes,
Shakir
Have We not given him two eyes,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا ہم نے اس کی دو آنکھیں نہ بنائیں (ف۹)
90:8 وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ ٩
90:9
Ahmed Ali
One tongue, and two lips,
Shakir
And a tongue and two lips,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور زبان (ف۱۰) اور دو ہونٹ (ف۱۱)
90:9 وَهَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ ٠١
90:10
Ahmed Ali
And showed him two highways (of good and evil)?
Shakir
And pointed out to him the two conspicuous ways?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اسے دو ابھری چیزوں کی راہ بتائی (ف۱۲)
90:10 فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ ١١
90:11
Ahmed Ali
But he could not scale the steep ascent.
Shakir
But he would not attempt the uphill road,
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر بے تامل گھاٹی میں نہ کودا (ف۱۳)
90:11 وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ ٢١
90:12
Ahmed Ali
How will you comprehend what the Steep ascent is? --
Shakir
And what will make you comprehend what the uphill road is?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور تو نے کیا جانا وہ گھاٹی کیا ہے (ف۱۴)
90:12 فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ ٣١
90:13
Ahmed Ali
To free a neck (from the burden of debt or slavery),
Shakir
(It is) the setting free of a slave,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کسی بندے کی گردن چھڑانا (ف۱۵)
90:13 أَوْ إِطْعَٰمٌ فِى يَوْمٍ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍ ٤١
90:14
Ahmed Ali
Or to feed in times of famine
Shakir
Or the giving of food in a day of hunger
Ahmed Raza Khan
یا بھوک کے دن کھانا دینا (ف۱۶)
90:14 يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ ٥١
90:15
Ahmed Ali
The orphan near in relationship,
Shakir
To an orphan, having relationship,
Ahmed Raza Khan
رشتہ دار یتیم کو،
90:15 أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ ٦١
90:16
Ahmed Ali
Or the poor in distress;
Shakir
Or to the poor man lying in the dust.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یا خاک نشین مسکین کو (ف۱۷)
90:16 ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ ٧١
90:17
Ahmed Ali
And to be of those who believe, and urge upon one another to persevere, and urge upon each other to be kind.
Shakir
Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر ہو ان سے جو ایمان لائے (ف۱۸) اور انہوں نے آپس میں صبر کی وصیتیں کیں (ف۱۹) اور آپس میں مہربانی کی وصیتیں کیں(ف۲۰)
90:17 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ ٨١
90:18
Ahmed Ali
They are the people of the right hand (and will succeed).
Shakir
These are the people of the right hand.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ دہنی طرف والے ہیں (ف۲۱)
90:18 وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ ٩١
90:19
Ahmed Ali
But those who deny Our revelations are the people of the left hand:
Shakir
And (as for) those who disbelieve in our communications, they are the people of the left hand.

اور جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں سے کفر کیا وہ بائیں طرف والے (ف۲۲)
90:19 عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌۢ ٠٢

Ahmed Ali
The Fire will vault them over.

On them is fire closed over.

ان پر آگ ہے کہ اس میں ڈال کر اوپر سے بند کردی گئی (ف۲۳)

91:1
Ahmed Ali
I CALL TO witness the sun and his early morning splendour,
Shakir
I swear by the sun and its brilliance,
Ahmed Raza Khan
سورج اور اس کی روشنی کی قسم،
91:1 وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ٢
91:2
Ahmed Ali
And the moon as she follows in his wake,
Shakir
And the moon when it follows the sun,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور چاند کی جب اس کے پیچھے آئے (ف۲)
91:2 وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ٣
91:3
Ahmed Ali
The day when it reveals his radiance,
Shakir
And the day when it shows it,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور دن کی جب اسے چمکائے (ف۳)
91:3 وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا ٤
91:4
Ahmed Ali
The night when it covers him over,
Shakir
And the night when it draws a veil over it,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور رات کی جب اسے چھپائے (ف۴)
91:4 وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ٥
91:5
Ahmed Ali
The heavens and its architecture,
Shakir
And the heaven and Him Who made it,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور آسمان اور اس کے بنانے والے کی قسم،
91:5 وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا ٦
91:6
Ahmed Ali
The earth and its spreading out,
Shakir
And the earth and Him Who extended it,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور زمین اور اس کے پھیلانے والے کی قسم،
91:6 وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا ٧
91:7
Ahmed Ali
The soul and how it was integrated
Shakir
And the soul and Him Who made it perfect,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جان کی اور اس کی جس نے اسے ٹھیک بنایا (ف۵)
91:7 فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا ٨
91:8
Ahmed Ali
And given the faculty of knowing what is disruptive and what is intrinsic to it.
Shakir
Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it;

پھر اس کی بدکاری اور اس کی پرہیزگاری دل میں ڈالی (ف۶)
91:8 قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا ٩
91:9
Ahmed Ali
He who nourishes it will surely be successful,
Shakir
He will indeed be successful who purifies it,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک مراد کو پہنچایا جس نے اسے (ف۷) ستھرا کیا (ف۸)
91:9 وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ٠١
91:10
Ahmed Ali
And he who confines it will surely come to grief.
Shakir
And he will indeed fail who corrupts it.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور نامراد ہوا جس نے اسے معصیت میں چھپایا،
91:10 كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ ١١
91:11
Ahmed Ali
The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness
Shakir
Samood gave the lie (to the truth) in their inordinacy,
Ahmed Raza Khan
ثمود نے اپنی سرکشی سے جھٹلایا (ف۹)
91:11 إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا ٢١
91:12
Ahmed Ali
When among them the great wretch arose,
Shakir
When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with
Ahmed Raza Khan
جبکہ اس کا سب سے بدبخت (ف۱۰) اٹھ کھڑا ہوا،
91:12 فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا ٣١
91:13
Ahmed Ali
And the apostle of God had to tell them: "This is God´s she-camel, let her drink."
Shakir
So Allah´s messenger said to them (Leave alone) Allah´s she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ان سے اللہ کے رسول (ف۱۱) نے فرمایا اللہ کے ناقہ (ف۱۲) اور اس کی پینے کی باری سے بچو (ف۱۳)
91:13 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا ٤١
91:14
Ahmed Ali
But they called him a liar and hamstrung her. So God obliterated them for their crime, and (destroyed) all of them alike.
Shakir
But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground).
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا پھر ناقہ کی کوچیں کاٹ دیں تو ان پر ان کے رب نے ان کے گناہ کے سبب (ف۱۴) تباہی ڈال کر وہ بستی برابر کردی (ف۱۵)
91:14 وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا ٥١
91:15
Ahmed Ali
He does not fear the consequence.
Shakir
And He fears not its consequence.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اس کے پیچھا کرنے والے کا اسے خوف نہیں (ف۱۶)
91:15 سورة الليل
92:1
Ahmed Ali
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over,
Shakir
I swear by the night when it draws a veil,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور رات کی قسم جب چھائے (ف۲)
92:1 وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ ٢
92:2
Ahmed Ali
And the day when it shines in all its glory,
Shakir
And the day when it shines in brightness,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور دن کی جب چمکے (ف۳)
92:2 وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ ٣
92:3
Ahmed Ali
And Him who created the male and female,
Shakir
And the creating of the male and the female,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اس (ف۴) کی جس نے نر و مادہ بنائے (ف۵)
92:3 إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ ٤
92:4
Ahmed Ali
That your endeavour is for different ends.
Shakir
Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends).
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک تمہاری کوشش مختلف ہے (ف۶)
92:4 فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ ٥
92:5
Ahmed Ali
Yet he who gives to others and has fear,
Shakir
Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil),
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو وہ جس نے دیا (ف۷) اور پرہیزگاری کی (ف۸)
92:5 وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ٦
92:6
Ahmed Ali
And affirms goodness,
Shakir
And accepts the best,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور سب سے اچھی کو سچ مانا (ف۹)
92:6 فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ ٧
92:7
Ahmed Ali
We shall ease the way of fortune for him.
Shakir
We will facilitate for him the easy end.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو بہت جلد ہم اسے آسانی مہیا کردیں گے (ف۱۰)
92:7 وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ ٨
92:8
Ahmed Ali
But he who does not give and is unconcerned,
Shakir
And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah),
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور وہ جس نے بخل کیا (ف۱۱) اور بے پرواہ بنا (ف۱۲)
92:8 وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ٩
92:9
Ahmed Ali
And rejects goodness,
Shakir
And rejects the best,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور سب سے اچھی کو جھٹلایا (ف۱۳)
92:9 فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ ٠١
92:10
Ahmed Ali
For him We shall ease the way of adversity,
Shakir
We will facilitate for him the difficult end.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو بہت جلد ہم اسے دشواری مہیا کردیں گے (ف۱۴)
92:10 وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ ١١
92:11
Ahmed Ali
And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss).
Shakir
And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اس کا مال اسے کام نہ آئے گا جب ہلاکت میں پڑے گا (ف۱۵)
92:11 إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ ٢١
92:12
Ahmed Ali
It is indeed for Us to show the way,
Shakir
Surely Ours is it to show the way,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہدایت فرمانا (ف۱۶) ہمارے ذمہ ہے،
92:12 وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْءَاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ ٣١
92:13
Ahmed Ali
And to Us belong the End and the Beginning.
Shakir
And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former.

اور بیشک آخرت اور دنیا دونوں کے ہمیں مالک ہیں،
92:13 فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ ٤١
92:14
Ahmed Ali
So, I warn you of the blazing Fire.
Shakir
Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames:

تو میں تمہیں ڈراتا ہوں اس آگ سے جو بھڑک رہی ہے،
