78:1

OF WHAT ARE they asking one another?

Of what do they ask one another?

یہ (ف۲) آپس میں کاہے کی پوچھ گچھ کررہے ہیں (ف۳)
78:1 عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ٢
78:2
Ahmed Ali
(Is it) of the great announcement

About the great event,

بڑی خبر کی (ف۴)
78:2 ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ ٣
78:3
Ahmed Ali
About which they have been differing?
Shakir
About which they differ?
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس میں وہ کئی راہ ہیں (ف۵)
78:3 كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ٤
78:4
Ahmed Ali
Indeed they will come to know soon;
Shakir
Nay! they shall soon come to know
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہاں ہاں اب جائیں گے،
78:4 ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ٥
78:5
Ahmed Ali
They will indeed come to know soon.
Shakir
Nay! Nay! they shall soon know.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر ہاں ہاں جان جائیں گے (ف۶)
78:5 أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًا ٦
78:6
Ahmed Ali
Did We not make the earth a spreading,
Shakir
Have We not made the earth an even expanse?

کیا ہم نے زمین کو بچھونا نہ کیا (ف۷)
78:6 وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا ٧
78:7
Ahmed Ali
The mountains tent-pins?
Shakir
And the mountains as projections (thereon)?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور پہاڑوں کو میخیں (ف۸)
78:7 وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ٨
78:8
Ahmed Ali
We created you in pairs,
Shakir
And We created you in pairs,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور تمہیں جوڑے بنایا (ف۹)
78:8 وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا ٩
78:9
Ahmed Ali
And made sleep for you to rest,
Shakir
And We made your sleep to be rest (to you),
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور تمہاری نیند کو آرام کیا (ف۱۰)
78:9 وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا ٠١
78:10
Ahmed Ali
The night a covering,
Shakir
And We made the night to be a covering,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور رات کو پردہ پوش کیا (ف۱۱)
78:10 وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا ١١
78:11
Ahmed Ali
And the day for seeking livelihood.
Shakir
And We made the day for seeking livelihood.

اور دن کو روزگار کے لیے بنایا (ف۱۲)
78:11 وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا ٢١
78:12
Ahmed Ali
We raised over you several secure (skies),
Shakir
And We made above you seven strong ones,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور تمہارے اوپر سات مضبوط چنائیاں چنیں (تعمیر کیں) (ف۱۳)
78:12 وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا ٣١
78:13
Ahmed Ali
And placed a lamp therein brightly burning.
Shakir
And We made a shining lamp,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان میں ایک نہایت چمکتا چراغ رکھا (ف۱۴)
78:13 وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًا ٤١
78:14
Ahmed Ali
And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents
Shakir
And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور پھر بدلیوں سے زور کا پانی اتارا،
78:14 لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا ٥١
78:15
Ahmed Ali
That We may produce from it grain and vegetation,
Shakir
That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ اس سے پیدا فرمائیں اناج اور سبزہ،
78:15 وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا ٦١
78:16
Ahmed Ali
And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs.
Shakir
And gardens dense and luxuriant.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور گھنے باغ (ف۱۵)
78:16 إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًا ٧١
78:17
Ahmed Ali
Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement.
Shakir
Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed:

بیشک فیصلہ کا دن (ف۱۶) ٹھہرا ہوا وقت ہے،
78:17 يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا ٨١
78:18
Ahmed Ali
The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes;
Shakir
The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts,
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن صور پھونکا جائے گا (ف۱۷) تو تم چلے آؤ گے (ف۱۸) فوجوں کی فوجیں،
78:18 وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًا ٩١
78:19
Ahmed Ali
The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors,
Shakir
And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور آسمان کھولا جائے گا کہ دروازے ہوجائے گا (ف۱۹)
78:19 وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا ٠٢
78:20
Ahmed Ali
The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage.
Shakir
And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور پہاڑ چلائے جائیں گے کہ ہوجائیں گے جیسے چمکتا ریتا دور سے پانی کا دھوکا دیتا،
78:20 إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا ١٢
78:21
Ahmed Ali
Certainly Hell lies in wait,
Shakir
Surely hell lies in wait,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک جہنم تاک میں ہے،
78:21 لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًا ٢٢
78:22
Ahmed Ali
The rebels´ abode,
Shakir
A place of resort for the inordinate,
Ahmed Raza Khan
سرکشوں کا ٹھکانا،
78:22 لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًا ٣٢
78:23
Ahmed Ali
Where they will remain for aeons,
Shakir
Living therein for ages.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس میں قرنوں (مدتوں) رہیں گے (ف۲۰)
78:23 لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا ٤٢
78:24
Ahmed Ali
Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink
Shakir
They shall not taste therein cool nor drink
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس میں کسی طرح کی ٹھنڈک کا مزہ نہ پائیں گے اور نہ کچھ پینے کو،
78:24 إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا ٥٢
78:25
Ahmed Ali
Except boiling water and benumbing cold:
Shakir
But boiling and intensely cold water,
Ahmed Raza Khan
مگر کھولتا پانی اور دوزخیوں کا جلتا پیپ،
78:25 جَزَآءً وِفَاقًا ٦٢
78:26
Ahmed Ali
, A fitting reward.
Shakir
Requital corresponding.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جیسے کو تیسا بدلہ (ف۲۱)
78:26 إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا ٧٢
78:27
Ahmed Ali
They were those who did not expect a reckoning,
Shakir
Surely they feared not the account,
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک انہیں حساب کا خوف نہ تھا (ف۲۲)
78:27 وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا ٨٢
78:28
Ahmed Ali
And rejected Our signs as lies.
Shakir
And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth).

اور انہوں نے ہماری آیتیں حد بھر جھٹلائیں،
78:28 وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًا ٩٢
78:29
Ahmed Ali
We have kept account of everything in a book.
Shakir
And We have recorded everything in a book,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے (ف۲۳) ہر چیز لکھ کر شمار کر رکھی ہے (ف۲۴)
78:29 فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا ٠٣
78:30
Ahmed Ali
So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment,
Shakir
So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement.

اب چکھو کہ ہم تمہیں نہ بڑھائیں گے مگر عذاب،

As for those who preserve themselves from evil and follow the straight path, there is attainment for them:
Shakir
Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement,

بیشک ڈر والوں کو کامیابی کی جگہ ہے (ف۲۵)
78:31 حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًا ٢٣
78:32
Ahmed Ali
Orchards and vineyards,
Shakir
Gardens and vineyards,
Ahmed Raza Khan
باغ ہیں (ف۲۶) اور انگور،
78:32 وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا ٣٣
78:33
Ahmed Ali
And graceful maidens of the same age,
Shakir
And voluptuous women of equal age;
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اٹھتے جوبن والیاں ایک عمر کی،
78:33 وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا ٤٣
78:34
Ahmed Ali
And flasks full and flowing.
Shakir
And a pure cup.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور چھلکتا جام (ف۲۷)
78:34 لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا ٥٣
78:35
Ahmed Ali
They will hear no blasphemies there or disavowals:
Shakir
They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس میں نہ کوئی بیہودہ بات سنیں نہ جھٹلانا (ف۲۸)
78:35 جَزَآءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا ٦٣
78:36
Ahmed Ali
A recompense from your Lord, a sufficient gift,
Shakir
A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning:
Ahmed Raza Khan
صلہ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے (ف۲۹) نہایت کافی عطا،
78:36 رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا ٧٣
78:37
Ahmed Ali
The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, most benevolent, to whom none may dare address a word.
Shakir
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Beneficent Allah, they shall not be able to address Him.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ جو رب ہے آسمانوں کا اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے رحمن کہ اس سے بات کرنے کا اختیار نہ رکھیں گے (ف۳۰)
78:37 يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا ٨٣
78:38
Ahmed Ali
The day the Spirit takes its stand, with the angels ranged in rows. None will speak except who is permitted by Ar-Rahman and says what is right.
Shakir
The day on which the spirit and the angels shall stand in ranks; they shall not speak except he whom the Beneficent Allah permits and who speaks the right thing.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن جبریل کھڑا ہوگا اور سب فرشتے پرا باندھے (صفیں بنائے) کوئی نہ بول سکے گا (ف۳۱) مگر جسے رحمن نے اذن دیا (ف۳۲) اور اس نے ٹھیک بات کہی (ف۳۳)
78:38 ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا ٩٣
78:39
Ahmed Ali
That day is certain. So whosoever likes may prepare a way to his Lord.
Shakir
That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ سچا دن ہے اب جو چاہے اپنے رب کی طرف راہ بنالے (ف۳۴)
78:39 إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا ٠٤
78:40
Ahmed Ali
We have indeed warned you of a calamity near at hand, a day when man will see what he had sent (of his deeds) ahead, and the unbeliever will say: "Woe alas. Ah would that I were dust!"
Shakir
Surely We have warned you of a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust!
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہم تمہیں (ف۳۵) ایک عذاب سے ڈراتے ہیں کہ نزدیک آگیا (ف۳۶) جس دن آدمی دیکھے گا جو کچھ اس کے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا (ف۳۷) اور کافر کہے گا ہائے میں کسی طرح خاک ہوجاتا (ف۳۸)
78:40 سورة النازعات
79:1
Ahmed Ali
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag,
Shakir
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked,
Ahmed Raza Khan
قسم ان کی (ف۲) کہ سختی سے جان کھینچیں (ف۳)
79:1 وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشْطًا ٢
79:2
Ahmed Ali
And those who undo the bonds gently,
Shakir
And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور نرمی سے بند کھولیں) (ف۴)
79:2 وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبْحًا ٣
79:3
Ahmed Ali
And those who glide swimmingly,
Shakir
And by those who float in space,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور آسانی سے پیریں (ف۵)
79:3 فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ سَبْقًا ٤
79:4
Ahmed Ali
Then outpace the others swiftly
Shakir
Then those who are foremost going ahead,
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر آگے بڑھ کر جلد پہنچیں (ف۶)
79:4 فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا ٥
79:5
Ahmed Ali
And direct affairs by command,
Shakir
Then those who regulate the affair.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر کام کی تدبیر کریں (ف۷)
79:5 يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ ٦
79:6
Ahmed Ali
The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively
Shakir
The day on which the quaking one shall quake,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کہ کافروں پر ضرور عذاب ہوگا جس دن تھر تھرائے گی تھرتھرانے والی (ف۸)
79:6 تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ ٧
79:7
Ahmed Ali
Followed by the second blast,
Shakir
What must happen afterwards shall follow it.

اس کے پیچھے آئے گی پیچھے آنے والی (ف۹)
79:7 قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ ٨
79:8
Ahmed Ali
Hearts will pound loudly on that day,
Shakir
Hearts on that day shall palpitate,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کتنے دل اس دن دھڑکتے ہوں گے،
79:8 أَبْصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٌ ٩
79:9
Ahmed Ali
Eyes be lowered in submission.
Shakir
Their eyes cast down.
Ahmed Raza Khan
آنکھ اوپر نہ اٹھا سکیں گے (ف۱۰)
79:9 يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ ٠١
79:10
Ahmed Ali
They say: "Shall we go back to our original state
Shakir
They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کافر (ف۱۱) کہتے ہیں کیا ہم پھر الٹے پاؤں پلٹیں گے (ف۱۲)
79:10 أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمًا نَّخِرَةً ١١
79:11
Ahmed Ali
After having turned to carious bones?"
Shakir
What! when we are rotten bones?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا ہم جب گلی ہڈیاں ہوجائیں گے (ف۱۳)
79:11 قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ ٢١
79:12
Ahmed Ali
They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss."
Shakir
They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بولے یوں تو یہ پلٹنا تو نرا نقصان ہے (ف۱۴)
79:12 فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ ٣١
79:13
Ahmed Ali
It will only be a single blast,
Shakir
But it shall be only a single cry,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو وہ (ف۱۵) نہیں مگر ایک جھڑکی (ف۱۶)
79:13 فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ ٤١
79:14
Ahmed Ali
And they will wake up suddenly.
Shakir
When lo! they shall be wakeful.
Ahmed Raza Khan
جبھی وہ کھلے میدان میں آپڑے ہوں گے (ف۱۷)
79:14 هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ ٥١
79:15
Ahmed Ali
Has the story of Moses come to you
Shakir
Has not there come to you the story of Musa?

کیا تمہیں موسیٰ کی خبر آئی (ف۱۸)
