That is why he has no friend today,

Therefore he has not here today a true friend,

تو آج یہاں (ف۳۸) اس کا کوئی دوست نہیں (ف۳۹)
69:35 وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ ٦٣

Ahmed Ali
Nor food other than suppuration (filth)
Shakir
Nor any food except refuse,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور نہ کچھ کھانے کو مگر دوزخیوں کا پیپ،
69:36 لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَٰطِـُٔونَ ٧٣
69:37
Ahmed Ali
Which none but the hellish eat."
Shakir
Which none but the wrongdoers eat.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اسے نہ کھائیں گے مگر خطاکار (ف۴۰)
69:37 فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ ٨٣
69:38
Ahmed Ali
So, I call to witness what you see
Shakir
But nay! I swear by that which you see,

تو مجھے قسم ان چیزوں کی جنہیں تم دیکھتے ہو،
69:38 وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ ٩٣
69:39
Ahmed Ali
And what you do not see,
Shakir
And that which you do not see.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جنہیں تم نہیں دیکھتے (ف۴۱)
69:39 إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ ٠٤
69:40
Ahmed Ali
That this is indeed the word of the noble Messenger,
Shakir
Most surely, it is the Word brought by an honored Messenger,

بیشک یہ قرآن ایک کرم والے رسول (ف۴۲) سے باتیں ہیں (ف۴۳)
69:40 وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ ١٤

Ahmed Ali
And not the word of a poet. How little is it that you believe!
Shakir
And it is not the word of a poet; little is it that you believe;

اور وہ کسی شاعر کی بات نہیں (ف۴۴) کتنا کم یقین رکھتے ہو (ف۴۵)
69:41 وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ٢٤

Ahmed Ali
Nor is it the word of a soothsayer. Little is it that you reflect!
Shakir
Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind.

اور نہ کسی کاہن کی بات (ف۴۶) کتنا کم دھیان کرتے ہو (ف۴۷)
69:42 تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٣٤
69:43
Ahmed Ali
It has been sent down by the Lord of all the worlds.
Shakir
It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

اس نے اتارا ہے جو سارے جہان کا رب ہے،
69:43 وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ ٤٤
69:44
Ahmed Ali
Had he attributed falsely any words to Us,
Shakir
And if he had fabricated against Us some of the sayings,

اور اگر وہ ہم پر ایک بات بھی بنا کر کہتے (ف۴۸)
69:44 لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِٱلْيَمِينِ ٥٤
69:45
Ahmed Ali
We would have seized him by his right hand,
Shakir
We would certainly have seized him by the right hand,
Ahmed Raza Khan
ضرور ہم ان سے بقوت بدلہ لیتے،
69:45 ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ ٦٤
69:46
Ahmed Ali
Then cut off his aorta,
Shakir
Then We would certainly have cut off his aorta.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر ان کی رگِ دل کاٹ دیتے (ف۴۹)
69:46 فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَٰجِزِينَ ٧٤
69:47
Ahmed Ali
And not one of you would have been able to stop (Us).
Shakir
And not one of you could have withheld Us from him.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پھر تم میں کوئی ان کا بچانے والا نہ ہوتا،
69:47 وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ٨٤
69:48
Ahmed Ali
It is really a reminder for those who fear God and follow the straight path.
Shakir
And most surely it is a reminder for those who guard (against evil).

اور بیشک یہ قرآن ڈر والوں کو نصیحت ہے،
69:48 وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ ٩٤
69:49
Ahmed Ali
We certainly know that some among you do deny it.
Shakir
And most surely We know that some of you are rejecters.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ضرور ہم جانتے ہیں کہ تم کچھ جھٹلانے والے ہیں،
69:49 وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ٠٥
69:50
Ahmed Ali
It is surely the nemesis of unbelievers.
Shakir
And most surely it is a great grief to the unbelievers.

اور بیشک وہ کافروں پر حسرت ہے (ف۵۰)
69:50 وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ ١٥
69:51
Ahmed Ali
And He, He is indeed the ultimate Reality.
Shakir
And most surely it is the true certainty

اور بیشک وہ یقین حق ہے (ف۵۱)
69:51 فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ٢٥

Ahmed Ali
So glorify your Lord, the most supreme.

Therefore-glorify the name of your Lord, the Great.

70:1
Ahmed Ali
AN INQUIRER ASKED for the affliction that is to come
Shakir
One demanding, demanded the chastisement which must befall
Ahmed Raza Khan
ایک مانگنے والا وہ عذاب مانگتا ہے،
70:1 لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ دَافِعٌ ٢
70:2
Ahmed Ali
Upon the infidels -- which none would be able to repel --
Shakir
The unbelievers-- there is none to avert it--
Ahmed Raza Khan
جو کافروں پر ہونے والا ہے، اس کا کوئی ٹالنے والا نہیں (ف۲)،
70:2 مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ذِى ٱلْمَعَارِجِ ٣
70:3
Ahmed Ali
From God, the Lord of the steps (of progression),
Shakir
From Allah, the Lord of the ways of Ascent.
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ ہوگا اللہ کی طرف سے جو بلندیوں کا مالک ہے (ف۳)
70:3 تَعْرُجُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ ٤
70:4
Ahmed Ali
To whom the angels and the soul take a day to ascend, whose length is fifty thousand years.
Shakir
To Him ascend the angels and the Spirit in a day the measure of which is fifty thousand years.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ملائکہ اور جبریل (ف۴) اس کی بارگاہ کی طرف عروج کرتے ہیں (ف۵) وہ عذاب اس دن ہوگا جس کی مقدار پچاس ہزار برس ہے (ف۶)
70:4 فَٱصْبِرْ صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا ٥
70:5
Ahmed Ali
So persevere with becoming patience.
Shakir
Therefore endure with a goodly patience.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو تم اچھی طرح صبر کرو،
70:5 إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُۥ بَعِيدًا ٦
70:6
Ahmed Ali
They surely take it to be far away,
Shakir
Surely they think it to be far off,
Ahmed Raza Khan
وہ اسے (ف۷) دور سمجھ رہے ہیں (ف۸)
70:6 وَنَرَىٰهُ قَرِيبًا ٧
70:7
Ahmed Ali
But We see it very near.
Shakir
And We see it nigh.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم اسے نزدیک دیکھ رہے ہیں (ف۹)
70:7 يَوْمَ تَكُونُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ كَٱلْمُهْلِ ٨
70:8
Ahmed Ali
The day the sky becomes like molten brass,
Shakir
On the day when the heaven shall be as molten copper
Ahmed Raza Khan
جس دن آسمان ہوگا جیسی گلی چاندی،
70:8 وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٩
70:9
Ahmed Ali
The mountains like the tufts of (carded) wool,
Shakir
And the mountains shall be as tufts of wool
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور پہاڑ ایسے ہلکے ہوجائیں گے جیسے اون (ف۱۰)
70:9 وَلَا يَسْـَٔلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًا ٠١

Ahmed Ali
And no friend inquires after friend
Shakir
And friend shall not ask of friend

اور کوئی دوست کسی دوست کی بات نہ پوچھے گا (ف۱۱)

Though within sight of one another. The sinner would like to ransom himself from the torment of that Day by offering his sons,

(Though) they shall be made to see each other. The guilty one would fain redeem himself from the chastisement of that day by (sacrificing) his children,

ہوں گے انہیں دیکھتے ہوئے (ف۱۲) مجرم (ف۱۳) آرزو کرے گا، کاش! اس دن کے عذاب سے چھٹنے کے بدلے میں دے دے اپنے بیٹے،
70:11 وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَأَخِيهِ ٢١
70:12
Ahmed Ali
His wife and his brother,
Shakir
And his wife and his brother
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اپنی جورو اور اپنا بھائی،
70:12 وَفَصِيلَتِهِ ٱلَّتِى تُـْٔوِيهِ ٣١
70:13
Ahmed Ali
And his family who had stood by him,
Shakir
And the nearest of his kinsfolk who gave him shelter,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اپنا کنبہ جس میں اس کی جگہ ہے،
70:13 وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يُنجِيهِ ٤١
70:14
Ahmed Ali
And all those who are on the earth, to save himself.
Shakir
And all those that are in the earth, (wishing) then (that) this might deliver him.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جتنے زمین میں ہیں سب پھر یہ بدلہ دنیا اسے بچالے،
70:14 كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا لَظَىٰ ٥١
70:15
Ahmed Ali
But never. It is pure white flame
Shakir
By no means! Surely it is a flaming fire
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہرگز نہیں (ف۱۴) وہ تو بھڑکتی آگ ہے،
70:15 نَزَّاعَةً لِّلشَّوَىٰ ٦١
70:16
Ahmed Ali
That would skin the scalp.
Shakir
Dragging by the head,
Ahmed Raza Khan
کھال اتار لینے والی بلارہی ہے (ف۱۵)
70:16 تَدْعُوا۟ مَنْ أَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ٧١
70:17
Ahmed Ali
It will summon whoever turns his back and flees,
Shakir
It shall claim him who turned and fled (from truth),
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس کو جس نے پیٹھ دی اور منہ پھیرا (ف۱۶)
70:17 وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰٓ ٨١
70:18
Ahmed Ali
Who amasses and then hoards.
Shakir
And amasses (wealth) then shuts it up.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جوڑ کر سینت رکھا (محفوظ کرلیا) (ف۱۷)
70:18 ۞ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا ٩١
70:19
Ahmed Ali
Surely man is greedy by nature.
Shakir
Surely man is created of a hasty temperament
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک آدمی بنایا گیا ہے بڑا بے صبرا حریص،
70:19 إِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ جَزُوعًا ٠٢
70:20
Ahmed Ali
If evil befalls him he is perturbed;
Shakir
Being greatly grieved when evil afflicts him
Ahmed Raza Khan
جب اسے برائی پہنچے (ف۱۸) تو سخت گھبرانے والا،
70:20 وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا ١٢
70:21
Ahmed Ali
If good comes to him he holds back his hand,
Shakir
And niggardly when good befalls him
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور جب بھلائی پہنچے (ف۱۹) تو روک رکھنے والا (ف۲۰)
70:21 إِلَّا ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ ٢٢
70:22
Ahmed Ali
Except those who closely follow (the Book of God),
Shakir
Except those who pray,
Ahmed Raza Khan
مگر نمازی،
70:22 ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَآئِمُونَ ٣٢
70:23
Ahmed Ali
Who persevere in devotion,
Shakir
Those who are constant at their prayer
Ahmed Raza Khan
جو اپنی نماز کے پابند ہیں (ف۲۱)
70:23 وَٱلَّذِينَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ مَّعْلُومٌ ٤٢
70:24
Ahmed Ali
In whose wealth a due share is included
Shakir
And those in whose wealth there is a fixed portion.

اور وہ جن کے مال میں ایک معلوم حق ہے (ف۲۲)
70:24 لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ ٥٢
70:25
Ahmed Ali
For the needy and those dispossessed,
Shakir
For him who begs and for him who is denied (good)
Ahmed Raza Khan
اس کے لیے جو مانگے اور جو مانگ بھی نہ سکے تو محروم رہے (ف۲۳)
70:25 وَٱلَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٦٢
70:26
Ahmed Ali
And those who believe in the Day of Judgement,
Shakir
And those who accept the truth of the judgment day
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہو جو انصاف کا دن سچ جانتے ہیں (ف۲۴)
70:26 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ ٧٢
70:27
Ahmed Ali
And those who fear the punishment of their Lord, --
Shakir
And those who are fearful of the chastisement of their Lord--
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور وہ جو اپنے رب کے عذاب سے ڈر رہے ہیں،
70:27 إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُونٍ ٨٢
70:28
Ahmed Ali
Surely no one can be secure from the punishment of his Lord, --
Shakir
Surely the chastisement of their Lord is (a thing) not to be felt secure of--
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ان کے رب کا عذاب نڈر ہونے کی چیز نہیں (ف۲۵)
70:28 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ ٩٢
70:29
Ahmed Ali
And those who guard their sex except from their wives and women slaves of old
Shakir
And those who guard their private parts,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہو جو اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں،
70:29 إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ ٠٣
70:30
Ahmed Ali
Are free of blame,
Shakir
Except in the case of their wives or those whom their right hands possess-- for these surely are not to be blamed,
Ahmed Raza Khan
مگر اپنی بیبیوں یا اپنے ہاتھ کے مال کنیزوں سے کہ ان پر کچھ ملامت نہیں،
70:30 فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ ١٣
70:31
Ahmed Ali
But those who seek more than this will be transgressors;
Shakir
But he who seeks to go beyond this, these it is that go beyond the limits--

تو جو ان دو (ف۲۶) کے سوا اور چاہے وہی حد سے بڑھنے والے ہیں (ف۲۷)
70:31 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ ٢٣
70:32
Ahmed Ali
And those who fulfil their trusts and covenants,
Shakir
And those who are faithful to their trusts and their covenant
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور وہ جو اپنی امانتوں اور اپنے عہد کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں (ف۲۸)
70:32 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمْ قَآئِمُونَ ٣٣
70:33
Ahmed Ali
Who uphold their testimonies,
Shakir
And those who are upright in their testimonies,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور وہ جو اپنی گواہیوں پر قائم ہیں (ف۲۹)
70:33 وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ ٤٣
70:34
Ahmed Ali
And those who are mindful of their moral obligations.
Shakir
And those who keep a guard on their prayer,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور وہ جو اپنی نماز کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں (ف۳۰)
70:34 أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍ مُّكْرَمُونَ ٥٣
70:35
Ahmed Ali
They will live in gardens with honour.
Shakir
Those shall be in gardens, honored.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ ہیں جن کا باغوں میں اعزاز ہوگا (ف۳۱)
70:35 فَمَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ ٦٣
70:36
Ahmed Ali
What is the matter with unbelievers that they stare at you with fixed gazes and hasten towards you
Shakir
But what is the matter with those who disbelieve that they hasten on around you,
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ان کافروں کو کیا ہوا تمہاری طرف تیز نگاہ سے دیکھتے ہیں (ف۳۲)
70:36 عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ ٧٣
70:37
Ahmed Ali
In crowds, right and left?
Shakir
On the right hand and on the left, in sundry parties?
Ahmed Raza Khan
داہنے اور بائیں گروہ کے گروہ،
70:37 أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍ ٨٣
70:38
Ahmed Ali
Does every one of them wish to enter the garden of tranquility?
Shakir
Does every man of them desire that he should be made to enter the garden of bliss?
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا ان میں ہر شخص یہ طمع کرتا ہے کہ (ف۳۳) چین کے باغ میں داخل کیا جائے،
70:38 كَلَّآ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ ٩٣
70:39
Ahmed Ali
Never so. We have created them from what they know.
Shakir
By no means! Surely We have created them of what they know.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہرگز نہیں، بیشک ہم نے انہیں اس چیز سے بنایا جسے جانتے ہیں (ف۳۴)
