That He created pairs, male and female,

And that He created pairs, the male and the female

اور یہ کہ اسی نے دو جوڑے بنائے نر اور مادہ
53:45 مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ ٦٤

Ahmed Ali
From a drop of semen when emitted;
Shakir
From the small seed when it is adapted

نطفہ سے جب ڈالا جائے (ف۵۲)
53:46 وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ ٧٤
53:47
Ahmed Ali
That the second creation is incumbent on Him;
Shakir
And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time;

اور یہ کہ اسی کے ذمہ ہے پچھلا اٹھانا (دوبارہ زندہ کرنا) (ف۵۳)
53:47 وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰ ٨٤
53:48
Ahmed Ali
That it is He who makes you rich and contented;
Shakir
And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold;
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور یہ کہ اسی نے غنیٰ دی اور قناعت دی
53:48 وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعْرَىٰ ٩٤
53:49
Ahmed Ali
That He is the Lord of Sirius;
Shakir
And that He is the Lord of the Sirius;
Ahmed Raza Khan
او ریہ کہ وہی ستارہ شِعریٰ کا رب ہے (ف۵۴)
53:49 وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ ٠٥
53:50
Ahmed Ali
That it was He who destroyed the ´Ad of old,
Shakir
And that He did destroy the Ad of old

اور یہ کہ اسی نے پہلی عاد کو ہلاک فرمایا (ف۵۵)
53:50 وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰ ١٥
53:51
Ahmed Ali
And Thamud, and did not leave them,
Shakir
And Samood, so He spared not
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ثمود کو (ف۵۶) تو کوئی باقی نہ چھوڑا
53:51 وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ ٢٥
53:52
Ahmed Ali
Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious;
Shakir
And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate;
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ان سے پہلے نوح کی قوم کو (ف۵۷) بیشک وہ ان سے بھی ظالم اور سرکش تھے (ف۵۸)
53:52 وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ ٣٥
53:53
Ahmed Ali
And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain,
Shakir
And the overthrown cities did He overthrow,
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور اس نے الٹنے والی بستی کو نیچے گرایا (ف۵۹)
53:53 فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ ٤٥
53:54
Ahmed Ali
So that they were covered over by what they were covered over.
Shakir
So there covered them that which covered.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اس پر چھایا جو کچھ چھایا (ف۶۰)
53:54 فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ ٥٥
53:55
Ahmed Ali
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny?
Shakir
Which of your Lord´s benefits will you then dispute about?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اے سننے والے اپنے رب کی کون سی نعمتوں میں شک کرے گا،
53:55 هَٰذَا نَذِيرٌ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلْأُولَىٰٓ ٦٥
53:56
Ahmed Ali
He who warns you is one of the warners of old.
Shakir
This is a warner of the warners of old.
Ahmed Raza Khan
یہ (ف۶۱) ایک ڈر سنانے والے ہیں اگلے ڈرانے والوں کی طرح (ف۶۲)
53:56 أَزِفَتِ ٱلْءَازِفَةُ ٧٥

Ahmed Ali
What is to come is imminent.
Shakir
The near event draws nigh.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پاس آئی پاس آنے والی (ف۶۳)
53:57 لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ٨٥
53:58
Ahmed Ali
There is no one to unveil it apart from God.
Shakir
There shall be none besides Allah to remove it.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اللہ کے سوا اس کا کوئی کھولنے والا نہیں (ف۶۴)
53:58 أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ ٩٥
53:59
Ahmed Ali
Are you astonished at this news,
Shakir
Do you then wonder at this announcement?
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو کیا اس بات سے تم تعجب کرتے ہو (ف۶۵)
53:59 وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ ٠٦
53:60
Ahmed Ali
And keep laughing and do not weep,
Shakir
And will you laugh and not weep?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہنستے ہو اور روتے نہیں (ف۶۶)
53:60 وَأَنتُمْ سَٰمِدُونَ ١٦
53:61
Ahmed Ali
Indulging in pleasantries?
Shakir
While you are indulging in varieties.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور تم کھیل میں پڑے ہو،
53:61 فَٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱعْبُدُوا۟۩ ٢٦
53:62
Ahmed Ali
Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him.
Shakir
So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him).

تو اللہ کے لیے سجدہ اور اس کی بندگی کرو (ف۶۷)
53:62 سورة القمر
54:1
Ahmed Ali
THE HOUR HAS come and split is the moon.
Shakir
The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder.
Ahmed Raza Khan
پاس آئی قيامت اور (ف۲) شق ہوگیا چاند (ف۳)
54:1 وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يُعْرِضُوا۟ وَيَقُولُوا۟ سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ ٢
54:2
Ahmed Ali
But if they see a sign they turn away, and say: "This is the same old lie continuing,"
Shakir
And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic.

اور اگر دیکھیں (ف۴) کوئی نشانی تو منہ پھیرتے (ف۵) اور کہتے ہیں یہ تو جادو ہے چلا آتا،
54:2 وَكَذَّبُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ ٣
54:3
Ahmed Ali
And deny, and follow their own vain desires; but every matter is determined at its time.
Shakir
And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term.
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور انہوں نے جھٹلایا (ف۶) اور اپنی خواہشوں کے پیچھے ہوئے (ف۷) اور ہر کام قرار پاچکا ہے (ف۸)
54:3 وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ ٤
54:4
Ahmed Ali
Messages deterring them from evil had come to them,
Shakir
And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention--

اور بیشک ان کے پاس وہ خبریں آئیں (ف۹) جن میں کافی روک تھی (ف۱۰)
54:4 حِكْمَةٌۢ بَٰلِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ ٥
54:5
Ahmed Ali
Containing consummate wisdom; yet warnings were of no avail.
Shakir
Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail;
Ahmed Raza Khan
انتہاء کو پہنچی ہوئی حکمت پھر کیا کام دیں ڈر سنانے والے،
54:5 فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىْءٍ نُّكُرٍ ٦
54:6
Ahmed Ali
So turn away from them. When on the Day the crier calls to the painful business,
Shakir
So turn (your) back on them (for) the day when the inviter shall invite them to a hard task,

تو تم ان سے منہ پھیرلو (ف۱۱) جس دن بلانے والا (ف۱۲) ایک سخت بے پہچانی بات کی طرف بلائے گا (ف۱۳)

They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts.
Shakir
Their eyes cast down, going forth from their graves as if they were scattered locusts,

نیچی آنکھیں کیے ہوئے قبروں سے نکلیں گے گویا وہ ٹڈی ہیں پھیلی ہوئی (ف۱۴)
54:7 مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِ يَقُولُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ ٨
54:8
Ahmed Ali
They will hasten forward to the caller, gazes fixed. And the unbelievers will say: "This is the day of untold woe."
Shakir
Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بلانے والے کی طرف لپکتے ہوئے (ف۱۵) کافر کہیں گے یہ دن سخت ہے،
54:8 ۞ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجْنُونٌ وَٱزْدُجِرَ ٩
54:9
Ahmed Ali
The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him.
Shakir
Before them the people of Nuh rejected, so they rejected Our servant and called (him) mad, and he was driven away.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ان سے (ف۱۶) پہلے نوح کی قوم نے جھٹلایا تو ہمارے بندہ (ف۱۷) کو جھوٹا بتایا اور بولے وہ مجنون ہے اور اسے جھڑکا (ف۱۸)
54:9 فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَغْلُوبٌ فَٱنتَصِرْ ٠١
54:10
Ahmed Ali
So he prayed to his Lord: "I am helpless, deliver me."
Shakir
Therefore he called upon his Lord: I am overcome, come Thou then to help.
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو اس نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ میں مغلوب ہوں تو میرا بدلہ لے،
54:10 فَفَتَحْنَآ أَبْوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍ مُّنْهَمِرٍ ١١
54:11
Ahmed Ali
And We opened up the flood gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents,
Shakir
So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو ہم نے آسمان کے دروازے کھول دیے زور کے بہتے پانی سے (ف۱۹)
54:11 وَفَجَّرْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَٱلْتَقَى ٱلْمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ ٢١
54:12
Ahmed Ali
And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end.
Shakir
And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained.

اور زمین چشمے کرکے بہا دی (ف۲۰) تو دونوں پانی (ف۲۱) مل گئے اس مقدار پر جو مقدر تھی (ف۲۲)
54:12 وَحَمَلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَٰحٍ وَدُسُرٍ ٣١
54:13
Ahmed Ali
But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum,
Shakir
And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور ہم نے نوح کو سوار کیا (ف۲۳) تختوں اور کیلوں والی پر کہ
54:13 تَجْرِى بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَآءً لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ ٤١
54:14
Ahmed Ali
Which sailed right under Our eyes: A recompense for him who had been denied.
Shakir
Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہماری نگاہ کے روبرو بہتی (ف۲۴) اس کے صلہ میں (ف۲۵) جس کے ساتھ کفر کیا گیا تھا،
54:14 وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَٰهَآ ءَايَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ ٥١
54:15
Ahmed Ali
And We left it as a sign. Is there anyone who will be warned?
Shakir
And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who

اور ہم نے اس (ف۲۶) نشانی چھوڑا تو ہے کوئی دھیان کرنے والا (ف۲۷)
54:15 فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٦١
54:16
Ahmed Ali
How was then My punishment and My commination!
Shakir
How (great) was then My punishment and My warning!
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو کیسا ہوا میرا عذاب اور میری دھمکیاں،
54:16 وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ ٧١
54:17
Ahmed Ali
Easy have We made the Qur´an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned?
Shakir
And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?
Ahmed Raza Khan
اور بیشک ہم نے قرآن یاد کرنے کے لیے آسان فرمادیا تو ہے کوئی یاد کرنے والا (ف۲۸)
54:17 كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ٨١
54:18
Ahmed Ali
The ´Ad had also disavowed. How was then My punishment and My commination!
Shakir
Ad treated (the truth) as a lie, so how (great) was My punishment and My warning!
Ahmed Raza Khan
عاد نے جھٹلایا (ف۲۹) تو کیسا ہوا میرا عذاب اور میرے ڈر دلانے کے فرمان (ف۳۰)
54:18 إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ ٩١
54:19
Ahmed Ali
We let loose against them a violent roaring wind on a day of ill omen, continuous,
Shakir
Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck
Ahmed Raza Khan
بیشک ہم نے ان پر ایک سخت آندھی بھیجی (ف۳۱) ایسے دن میں جس کی نحوست ان پر ہمیشہ کے لیے رہی (ف۳۲)
54:19 تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ ٠٢
54:20
Ahmed Ali
Which snatched away men as though they were palm trees pulled out by the roots.
Shakir
Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up.
Ahmed Raza Khan
لوگوں کو یوں دے مارتی تھی کہ گویا اکھڑی ہوئی کھجوروں کے ڈنڈ (سوکھے تنے) ہیں
54:20 فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ ١٢
54:21
Ahmed Ali
How was then My punishment and My commination!
Shakir
How (great) was then My punishment and My warning!
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو کیا کیسا ہوا میرا عذاب اور ڈر کے فرمان،
54:21 وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ ٢٢
54:22
Ahmed Ali
Easy have We made the Qur´an to understand: So is there any one who will pay heed?
Shakir
And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

اور بیشک ہم نے آسان کیا قرآن یاد کرنے کے لیے تو ہے کوئی یاد کرنے والا،
54:22 كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ٣٢
54:23
Ahmed Ali
The Thamud rejected the warnings,
Shakir
Samood rejected the warning.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ثمود نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا (ف۳۳)
54:23 فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍ وَسُعُرٍ ٤٢
54:24
Ahmed Ali
And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall he in error and insane.
Shakir
So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress:
Ahmed Raza Khan
تو بولے کیا ہم اپنے میں کے ایک آدمی کی تابعداری کریں (ف۳۴) جب تو ہم ضرور گمراہ اور دیوانے ہیں (ف۳۵)
54:24 أَءُلْقِىَ ٱلذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ ٥٢
54:25
Ahmed Ali
Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar."
Shakir
Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar!
Ahmed Raza Khan
کیا ہم سب میں سے اس پر (ف۳۶) بلکہ یہ سخت جھوٹا اترونا (شیخی باز) ہے (ف۳۸)
54:25 سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ ٱلْكَذَّابُ ٱلْأَشِرُ ٦٢
54:26
Ahmed Ali
"Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar!
Shakir
Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one.
Ahmed Raza Khan
بہت جلد کل جان جائیں گے (ف۳۹) کون تھا بڑا جھوٹا اترونا (شیخی باز)
54:26 إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْ وَٱصْطَبِرْ ٧٢
54:27
Ahmed Ali
We shall send the she-camel to try them. So watch them, and be constant.
Shakir
Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience.
Ahmed Raza Khan
ہم ناقہ بھیجنے والے ہیں انکی جانچ کو (ف۴۰) تو اے صا لح! تو راہ دیکھ (ف۴۱) اور صبر کر (ف۴۲)
